Nerf Lords and Heroes

Description
This mod nerfs lords and heroes to be less effective in combat. If you are tired of lords soloing enemy armies this mod may be for you.

The mod is designed to be a companion mod to small armies campaigns where lords and heroes can become quite dominating given the smaller army sizes. Though, this mod also runs fine without the smaller armies mod, if you are just looking for a generic way to nerf lords and heroes. The nerfs takes the form of reducing the defenses of the characters and dialing back the consequences of magic (mostly wielded by characters).

This mod will work with all custom factions from mods, it is a generic scripted debuf oblivious to whether the content comes from CA or a modder. To see if you have the correct debuf on your faction, just click on the faction icon on the top right and check the debuf in the faction effects section on the faction summary screen.

The leadership changes aim to make character positioning more tactically significant.

All variables are configurable using MCT. Below the defaults values.

Lords / Heroes:
-20% health (incl barrier health)
-10 melee defense
+10 leadership on encourage aura (actually all units with encourage)
(melee attack, weapon strength and missile strength can also be debuffed, default debuff for them is 0)

For all units:
-10 leadership
+20% magic resist

Note on changing values and UI not updating: The UI does not always update straight away your new values, especially changes to health. To convince yourself that you have the correct values you can use the fact that MCT will do an auto-save after you change your values, just load that save game and the UI should be correct.

Would it be possible to add an option to reduce physical/magic resistance and missile resistance for lords and heroes? Great mod as is, the options with MCT are a great touch.

With recent update I need to review some of the code. For now the anti-bloat measures (reduced item drop rate and trait gains) have been removed.

These nerfs should be baseline IMO. My heroes still feel strong but not invincible. Great mod.

Does anyone know a mod that slows down levelling of lords and heroes instead of reducing their stats? I'd prefer that because it would nerf them while also reducing tedious skillpoint allocation.

@Enae: Still not clear how you get two items, I am not really able to reproduce it. I have tweaked the script a little (as CA has done some updates too), maybe that will help.

I don't understand what I need to look at? By the way, to check I deleted two scripts related to items and followers and the bug disappeared, the chance is now default, but items drop only one at a time and there are much fewer of them.

@Enae: I am not sure what it is, I only have one log entry for item check after battle. But as you describe it, two items are awarded, so that means two checks. If you search for post battle event do you find more registrations?
