Amalgamation: Water Vein (Secondary)

Description
"The veins flows crystal clear. All impurities purified, filtered. Only then can you see, can you feel. Your blood is as much of water as I want. And I want it all."

General

Being a Psionic, Water veins uses their gift to Heal allies, and their blood to strike down enemies. They're a a rowdy bunch, limited in Offensive options by itself, and will heal anyone they deem an ally.

Skills

Squaddie
  • Ocean's Balm: Psionically heal an ally from a moderate range, higher psi, higher heal. Only once per ally every mission. Removes DoTs, like a medikit. Multiple units with Ocean's Balm can't heal the same target once more.
Corporal
  • Corporate Sano: Much like Ocean's Balm, heals an ally from a moderate range, but has 2 charges instead of limit per ally. Removes DoTs, like a medikit.
Blood Deck(Sergeant and Colonel)
  • Blood line: Cost 2 HP, launch a blood lightning that deals damage, deals more damage to targets that can bleed.
  • Curse Ball: Cost 3 HP Launch an impure blood sphere of that deals damage in an area and apply blood curse to the targets hit.
  • Open Vein: Cost 4 HP, launch a blood lightning that bounces up to 2 more enemies, dealing damage. deals more damage to targets that can bleed.
  • Blood Drain: Has a chance to deal a small amount of damage to a target, and heal istelf based on the damage dealt.
Passives Deck(Lieutenant and Captain)
  • Tank: Gain armor based on type of armor worn.
  • Impulse Field: Can take, at most, 40% of this units' max HP as damage.
  • Healer's mind: Gain 2 charges of Ocean's Balm and 1 charge of Ray of Life
  • Renewal: Recover 1 hp of allies and itself per turn, up to 5 per ally.
  • Blood Splatter: Abilities that cost HP either has added or increased bounce, or extra radius.
Major
  • Ray of Life: Launch a ray that cures any living beings in its path. 1 charge per misison.
Brigadier
  • Rayzeel's Song: After using an healing psi ability, heals every person in the squad for a small amount.

Balance and Ideology

This was another fun one! A healer with some offensive potential is something that I always like, some spikes of damage that can't be used continuously(Until rayzeel's song, of course). A powerful midrange healer that has limited usages per soldier, making it a bit unreliable. It's healing amount is low with this spec's innate Psi gain, but get quite powerful with other psi specs, or Psi overhauls that buffs the soldiers' score.

it shouldn't matter since it's the last skill on the deck, otherwise would be a problem. Still, i'll fix it, thanks!

I'm new to this so apologies up front if I'm incorrect. I'm getting a redscreen error related to the waterblood deckname in the amalgamation.ini. When running the ini thru Robojumpers config parser, it shows a whitespace on the mzcurseball line after the \\. After removing, the error goes away. Not sure if it matters but thought I would mention it in case.

Wait a minute, is this Katarra? Is this blood bending?

There's a few specs from Stukov of which I believe you'll enjoy then. His Chaplain has a similar healer playstyle, but solely focusing on support, rather than a mix of that and offensive. Other than that, a companion to this sepc is his Blood mage, which also focuses on support, but instead uses HP to provide it, This spec works really well with it.

I really like this concept - one of the things I would love to see is a perk that provides a minor shield to an ally. I think there are some blood magic perks that can do that. I only ask as when I'm playing healers I like to have an option for something more proactively defensive, but I also get this might not be the spec for that given it uh it can also zap blood force lighting lol
