Reclaim the Temples

Description

Features :
The Old Ones left a message on your voicemail. They are not happy that you let these cavemen soil the sacred temple-cities of Lustria with ruin and corruption. The Old Ones demand that you purge them and restore order.

This mod allows the Lizardmen to replace any settlement model in Lustria and the Southlands with their own settlement model. As a long as they occupy that region, the Lizardmen model will be applied. However if they lose it back to the original owner, the default model will return.

Additionally I replaced several default models to make it more immersive, including The Star Tower, Hualotal, Skeggi, Dragon Fang Mount and any Skaven settlement model located in Lustria or the Southlands.

Collection :

Check out my mods addressing other cultures and their home settlements:
This might be the final mod that address settlement models. The next mod will very likely be a compilation of the mods above with additional tweaks. Keep your eyes peeled.

Known issues :
You might experience a ~2-3 seconds freeze at the start of a new campaign while the mod is setting up the new default settlement models around the map.

Compatibility :
This mod is likely not compatible with Grandolph's Simple Dynamic Settlements Reborn.

I have not tested The Old World Campaign and Immortal Empires Expanded. I am not sure about the former but it should be compatible with the latter.

@Antagonistes, would you be willing to explain how you made these mods? I would be happy to try and learn to make changes myself. Also, is one of the visual glitches sinking settlements?

Unlikely. I was quite disappointed with the final result of these mods, notably the obnoxious stuttering issues, battle maps inconsistencies and other visual bugs...

I am also quite burnt out on TW Warhammer as a whole, but we'll see.

Is there any chance you make more mods?

I would love if you did one for The Dark elves and the High Elves! Naggarond would be fun with High Elf Settlements, Ulthuan would be great with dark elve style. This is just the mod I was looking for, a lore (accurate) way to make the map dynamic. Thanks for your work!

Thanks for reporting this issue. I just pushed another update, it should be fixed now.
Weird bug...

Hi, love the idea behind this mod but I believe this mod unintentionally overwrites some things in a "The Realm of Chaos" campaign. Not sure how it works but I started a fresh TROC campaign as Elspeth and it modifies her capital city Nuln and other cities to the wrong models. (e.g. Marienburg into a camp, Grim Duraz into a temple city). I guess maybe you made this for IE and forgot to disable this in TROC and TLG or something?

Nice mod! Is it normal that "Marks of the Old Ones" locality doesn't change to a temple?

@WAAAAGH!!!

Dynamic Settlements Reborn changes most (but not all) settlement models to that of the race controlling them, regardless of context (e.g. Altdorf turns from an Empire city into a Bretonnian castle into a Dwarf hold into a Tomb King pyramid etc.).

This mod, and the related mods, only does so for specific races, in keeping with the lore (e.g. this mod has Lizardmen replace the architecture of other races with their own, but only in Lustria and the Southlands, which were controlled by them).
