High Quality Realistic Weapon Sounds

Description
Based on developer commentary, and information found on the Left4Dead 2 Wiki, each weapon is now more based on their respective references in High Quality *.WAV format with matching bitrates.

References are pulled from live, real melee weapons / guns. Keep in mind that the accuracy is based on these references and have the possibility of being different compared to different makes/models of said weapons. They're as realistic/accurate as they can be. :)

What's been Updated?
Everything found in the "../sound/weapons" folder except the FX folder, and the following files:
• clipempty_pistol.wav
• clipempty_rifle.wav
• debris1.wav
• debris2.wav

As mentioned, the FX folder contains ricochets and miss sounds. I CAN update them as well if asked, but otherwise it'll remain unchanged. The Clip Empty and Debris sounds as well haven't been updated, I may update them later, may not.

@Psycho
Thanks :)

@Yalbor
While I can hear the subtle popping sound in-game, I've gone over the audio files, the formats, the lengths and couldn't locate the reason behind the popping sound. To be safe, I have gone and updated it in 1.3.1 to correct it, or try to, but I can't promise it'll be gone. It may end up being an engine-issue because unfortunately, the files themselves match 1-for-1 in format, length, frequency, bitrate, and loudness levels, so nothing on the file end should be affecting it. I've even attempted to redo the file from scratch completely and found nothing changed. So it may be engine-related where it isn't compatible with that part of the audio file. Like I said though, unless your music is completely turned down to >10%, and you're listening EXTREMELY closely, it's almost unnoticeable. If I find a fix, I'll certainly update it in the future :) But even my studio couldn't find a cause for it. My apologies ^^;

Yay, thanks a lot! Just one last thing. The M60 firing sound appears to be bugged as I could here a *pop* sound a couple of seconds after firing, so it may need fixing.

I've corrected the SG552 and Military Sniper to have a quieter gunfire effect and removed some of the Reverb effect from the audio file itself. Keep in mind, this won't effect maps you're playing which apply additional reverb (ex. The Tumtara Testing Map shown in the attached videos which adds an ambience/reverb to the gunfire)

:) Enjoy.

The Military Sniper and the SG552 sound kinda really loud. Would it be possible to make them a bit quieter, with not so much reverberation please?

I've updated the description but yes, it updates the gunfire/reload/other sounds. Essentially everything found in the "../sound/weapons" folder except the FX folder, and the following files:
• clipempty_pistol.wav
• clipempty_rifle.wav
• debris1.wav
• debris2.wav

Hope this helps :) Sorry for the delayed response.

Or does it replace both gunfire & reload sounds?
Doomgamer9000 31 Jan @ 7:26am
Does this replace only gunfire sounds?
