[B42] Frockin Splendor! Vol.3

Description

Every piece of high quality, shiny black leather clothing you will ever need: bodysuits, leotards, tops & crop tops, boleros, shorts, skirts, leggings, pants, gloves, corsets, harnesses and stockings. Big ticket items include leather trench coats, cropped jackets and a selection of eight high heels and boots*. Certain clothing types have designer, novel and super variants. 95 different items, 736 variants in total. All can be found in containers at reasonable places, and worn by zombies. Use context menu options to adjust the appearance of the outfits: wear on different limbs, roll sleeves, zip up or down, wear with or without accessories, etc.

This mod is the first of a multi-stage project to bring a certain B41 mod to B42. Make no mistake, this is not, and will not be a simple port. Everything has been revisited, remastered and expanded with new tech, functionality and depths (ha). You can expect the same level of improvement for the remaining parts when they come to B42.

***OPTIONAL!*** Due to the introduction of a new tech in B42, "depth mapping", high heels will now appear to be clipping into the floor. To work around this issue, a modified depth map is included in the mod folder that is specifically fine tuned to resurface the heels while causing minimal disruption. This solution requires manual installation:

1. Navigate to your "Project Zomboid" installation and media folder (by default should be something like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media"), and locate the "depthmaps" folder.

2. In another window open the mod folder (by default should be: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\3431256608\mods\Frockin Splendor! Vol.3\42\media\"), and locate the base game "depthmaps" folder.

3. Copy the "depthmaps" folder (which should contain a single png file named "DEPTH_preset_depthmaps_01.png") and paste it to the base game media folder, and overwrite the original "DEPTH_preset_depthmaps_01.png". With game updates it will be restored to default so you may need to repeat the installation process.

Q: Is this mod save compatible?
A: YES. Though the new items will not spawn in already discovered areas, zombies with Frockin Splendor! clothes should start spawning after installation.

Q: Where are the zombies wearing your clothes?
A: They are relatively rare to avoid crowding out the spawn table. Keep killing them and you'll run into one. Alternatively, make your way to a certain establishment in Louisville and you'll see plenty of them.

Q: I can't find the stuff in containers!
A: While the mod is save compatible, you will need to go to areas previously unexplored for the new items to start spawning in. A new tech has allowed this mod to place items in custom containers, or, "gift boxes", inside other containers such as wardrobes or crates. This way all Frockin Splendor! clothes can be found in reasonable quantities, while not crowding out the loot tables for vanilla and other modded items. These "gift boxes" have between 0.55% and 1.19% chance to spawn.

Q: Why didn't you port the crafting system to B42?
A: At the current stage B42 crafting is in a very unfinished state. There are placeholder codes and recipes and are clearly subject to change. It would be unwise to overhaul the old crafting recipes only to have to redo it when The Indie Stone inevitably changes things. Crafting will come later.

Q: Can I use your mod in my mod pack?
A: Ask for permission!

Q: Mod compatibility issues?
A: All Frockin Splendor! mods are guaranteed to be compatible with each other. There should be no conflicts with other mods, to the best of knowledge. Please report any error you encounter in the BUG REPORT post.

Q: What about character model mods?
A: A majority of the clothing items do not have a separate mesh, meaning that they can be used with various character model mods without issue. Some of the items that do have separate models may have minor clippings if you use a character model that deviats too much from the base game.

@Eagle7 (Evo) hey thanks. I had a quick look everything seemed fine. The fact that you're having this issue across multiple unconnected mods tells me you may have something faulty on your end. It's quite likely the xml files, GUIDs or even the scripts are faulty.

I'd check for mod conflict, remove any modpacks if you have them, and enabling problem mods one by one to troubleshoot.

Hey man, been loving the mod, my character rocks in your heels :D.

However some things, either in this collection or possibly others in your Frockin Splender lineup, simply don't render an icon when you see them in an inventory in a storage box and if I try equipping them produce an error and get removed from the game for some reason. Not all the clothes mind you, but it is several like Cotton Boleros and Crop Tops, its not mutually exclusive to this mod either clothing wise, Pogo's Clothing mods, and ahz Clothing b42 are having a similar issue, any help in identifing what I should do would be superb. <3

Thanks a lot man! Just to make sure, where can I find the leather sleeves in the outfit picking slots? is it in the kink it up slot a, b, c or something else?

@GibsonPaul hey thanks. Apart from the occasional zombies, every bedroom, club and some storage crates have a chance to spawn loot boxes containing a fair amount of the stuff. You just need to keep raiding them.

You can find the leather sleeves in the same loot boxes. They use the arm left and right slots, iirc.

It's a really cool mod but I'm having trouble finding most of the leather stuff lol :steamhappy:

I couldn't find the one-armed leather glove thingy in the tenth picture. What is it called and where do I find it in the clothing slots???

@Gorillaz Warfare no. Kink Up Extra has some older items from Vol.1, Vol.3 and 4 with reduced functionalities, it’s B41 and MP compatible.
