Description
HELLJUMPERS+ ONI BLACK-OPS SQUAD
Deploy as a specialized Office of Naval Intelligence Covert-Operations Team, specialists in subterfuge and high-risk operations!

(This is a submod of the wonderful Helljumpers mod, bringing in a CIA-esque faction with Halo ODST theming.)



TAKE IT SLOW, SNEAKY-BEAKY LIKE:

ONI's Infiltration Agents aren't your Tier One operators, but they sure as hell aren't just some desk jockeys either. Use their concealment to case an area or to set up lethal ambushes - but when the going gets too tough, they can also pack some of the heavy-duty stuff.

GET IN, GET IT DONE, AND THEN GET OUT - TRY NOT TO GET SHOT.



ONI SPARES NO EXPENSE FOR THEIR BEST:

The ODST squad assigned to this BlackOps Team are elite and hyper-lethal, and each member serves their own role:
  • Team Leads are veterans with all sorts of gear from explosives to covert operations - jack of all trades, and master of all.
  • Breachers are experts in CQC and assault, specialized in getting their squad in and out of objectives.
  • Specialists handle all the big guns with expertise - bring them along for when quiet plans go quite loud.
  • Recons lock down long sightlines with extreme prejudice, and can also wield some of the deadliest man-portable weapons ONI has the budget for.
Additionally, ELITE HELLJUMPER DOCTRINES give escalating buffs for each deployed Trooper, along with passive squad-wide benefits.

EXTREME VIOLENCE ISN'T ALWAYS THE ANSWER, BUT IT NEVER HURTS TO HAVE THE OPTION.

Hey Bubbaganoush,

Smoke grenades are purposefully limited because IMO they're *really* strong in DK2. It's a personal balance decision though - but if you want to, feel free to make a submod giving agents/breacher the 2x smokes!

Nice addition. Unless it's intentional, I notice that 2x smoke grenades are not available for agents and odst breacher. Is that something you can change? Maybe even give agents 3x smoke and frag grenades if possible?

The ONI Lead only has basic biofoam to substitute as a sort of medic, but yeah no dedicated medic makes campaigns/TODs harder - but that’s part of the fun of CIA-esque units!

This is a very fun mod my only complaints is that there isnt a Elite ODST Medic so its a bit difficult to play campaigns/ tour of duties with them but otherwise a great halo mod.

Ah, that makes sense! Thank you very much for the response. It's been really interesting seeing the interpretations of weapons that only pop up in the lore, especially once you get into the nitty-gritty of how Halo weapons work.

Hi Haji_Bob,

Great to hear that you're having lots of fun with the mod! Regarding the AR38, it's the internal name for the HMG-38 Monitor, a Battle-Honors unlock that's just a usable version of what the enemy Insurgents use.

(As to why I'm making a BH unlock available across multiple squads, as opposed to vanilla where BH gear should be per-squad, I'm just following the Helljumpers mod's conventions where "unlocking BH gear across multiple squads" is enabled for all BH-related equipment.)

Hello! I've been really enjoying the mod thus far! This is genuinely awesome, I'd had an idea about trying for an ORION operator with an ONI team but honestly I think the implementation here is much better then what I had had in mind.

I did have a question though, what is the AR38 mentioned in the change log? I've recently reset my progress (aiming for an all Halo run through of the game) and I didn't see it during an idle look through of the equipment.
