The first entry in the "Echoes of a Cold War" series of custom mercs for Jagged Alliance 3 is a beloved character from the franchise Call of Duty: Black Ops. Featuring in its many campaigns and media: Frank Woods.



The aim of the mod was to bring high-quality seamless integration with the game. Hopefully this mod will feel like an official crossover.


  • Own model ported from Cold War, optimized for the game engine and artistic style.
  • 447 voice responses ported from Cold War, made fit for all in-game scenarios (English only).
  • Custom render of the character portrait made to fit the game style.
  • Custom perk Payback is designed to get your squad's blood pumping as battle progresses.

About custom perk:

Receive Payback at the start of each turn. Upon killing an enemy, move one stack from self to a random ally; that ally has a chance to become Inspired.

Each stack of Payback slightly increases Damage with a slightly higher Chance to hit until the end of the combat.

Damn, I even removed my own slopy AI crap from the game when I tried your mod :D

I'm currently finishing one character from Warsaw Pact. You will see which one in a few days.
After that, I have a plan to do ONE of the three: 1) Add 2 more (undecided) characters from one side each (WP/NATO). 2) Do more of Adler's team. (Adler (leadership), Park (medic?), Sims (demo/mechanic)). 3) Different JA3 project (unrelated to mercs).
Currently leaning towards the third option most.
