Description
Welcome to US Car Culture, a mod I’ve been developing over the past few days to enhance realism in American Truck Simulator. This mod is designed for players who, like me, want more realism in their gameplay.

GAME VERSION SUPPORTED
To ensure your game has as few errors as possible, the following game versions are recommended:

ATS v1.54.*
ATS v1.55.*
For earlier game versions, a small pack for them is available to download at my post on SCS Forum as Legacy.

LOAD ORDER & COMPATIBILITY
General load order of all US Car Culture content:
1. US Car Culture - Compatibility Patch.
2. US Car Culture - AI Pack's addon.
3. US Car Culture.

Load order with other mods:
⬆️ Above any realistic traffic/traffic density mods.
⬆️ Above any AI Traffic sound mods.
⬆️ Above any non-supported AI Traffic pack.
⬆️ Above any map mods

Incompatible mods:
❌ Not compatible with any realistic coloring mods.
❌ Not compatible with any mod modifying license_plates.sii
❌ Not compatible with any mod modifying traffic_storage.sii

I have also listed the compatibility status of US Car Culture with some popular mods on Steam Workshop; you can check this at "OTHER MODS COMPATIBILITY STATUS" thread.

KEY FEATURE
🚗 State Preference Traffic
➜ Reworked on all vehicle brands' spawn rate based on their market share from each state.
➜ Reworked on all vehicle types' spawn rate based on the state's market share. No longer the same number of pickup trucks, SUVs, and passenger cars in every state. You should be able to notice a significant difference between states like California (where passenger cars are more preferred) compared to Wyoming (where pickup trucks are the most dominant).
➜ Wealth influence: Luxury brands such as Lexus, Acura, Jaguar, etc will mostly spawn in wealthy states. Rural and low-density states will have a really low chance of spotting these brands, or even never.
➜ Vehicles that are not marketed will no longer spawn, including traffic, road events, parking lots, etc. It is unrealistic to see them present in the centre of the USA.

🕰️ Unique/Rare vehicle adjustment
You were hauling and see too many classic cars / rare cars too often? This mod will also adjust this to reflect their rarity better. Classic/Antique cars' spawn rate has been significantly reduced; many of them will also spawn during ideal weather/time only - they are "rare" and "expensive" and not a typical car that people usually drive for daily work. The same can be said for sports/muscle cars, and rare variants of certain vehicles, such as Ford F-150 Raptor from SCS, will also spawn less, as they are uncommon to be seen in traffic.

Vehicle specs improvement
Modern vehicles are known to be usually heavier than older vehicles, as they are designed to carry a more powerful engine, an extended and more luxurious interior, and a stronger chassis support. I have also adjusted every vehicle's specs, including all available parameters, to make their movement as natural as possible. This means older vehicles will accelerate faster than modern vehicles, a typical passenger car will accelerate faster than an SUV/Pickup truck,etc. This also fixes the issue with some vans/trucks from SCS that have ridiculous, wrong spec information, which makes them move like a car.

🟥 Color Expansion
➜ Colors for vehicles in-game are based on their actual colors that are or were offered during their production. This means not every vehicle will have some known "most popular color" that can be found on the internet, simply because not every one of them is offered equally.
➜ Color varieties are also based on the era they were produced; the older the era, the more colorful they would be. Additionally, vehicle style will also influent how they appear, with classic/sports cars sometimes having unique colors to reflect their fanciness that you could never find on a normal car.
➜ Each color will also have multiple shade variants, which can be slightly darker, brighter, or even altered compared to the original color. This aims to reflect different paint effects, and also how the vehicles are "maintained", because in real life, not everyone does this annually.

🪪 License Plate Expansion (FOR 1.54 ABOVE ONLY)
The latest feature of US Car Culture, with its main purpose, is to add more types of license plates for AI vehicles, further enhancing immersion in traffic with various license plates from each state. This feature contains the following modifications:
➜ Multiple types of license plates for each state, including:
● Standardized license plate, including all common series and historic series
● Specialty license plate, including charity variants and region-specific variants
● Other types, such as veteran, disabled person, or state-specific license plate.
➜ All license plates have corrected series and their color for all license plates, including non-passenger vehicles.
➜ Out-of-state vehicle is now possible. Enjoy seeing folks from neighboring states visiting your state, even neighboring countries!

@sunny76 My mod doesn't modify the general traffic speed, individual vehicle speed are modified but most of them have been increased.

Are traffic speeds affected by the mod? It seems like the traffic is always slower then the speed limit.

As you can read in the reply changelog or on the SCS forum, the RTD editions are replaced with a single RTD addon and you now use the normal packs.

Where did Jazzycat's AI Traffic (RTD Edition) and Jazzycat's Classic Car (RTD Edition) go? No use for them anymore? I use Real Traffic Density - Cip.

@shimsham29 Can you extract my mod files on your side and check if the trailer spawn rate is only 0.2 maximum (they are inside <country> folder)? I applied the same spawn rate fix for them like the Ford SUV trailer, so if it works for this trailer, it should work for others as well.

It's interesting you did the same thing here as you did for the Ford SUV but it isn't having the same effect as it did there. I've only seen the Ford SUV trailer once in I'd guess an hour of testing since you were able to adjust that.

Definitely don't make trying to adjust this a priority if you're short on time or have more important things in your life to do with your time. I'd feel pretty bad if you were spending time you don't really have right now on this instead of other things. I do hope you can eventually find a solution since seeing a lot of trailers is a bit of an immersion breaker yet it doesn't actually break the game nor the amazing mod so no rush on that.

Did a test after the latest change and unfortunately, trailers still seem to be spawning at a pretty high clip. Unsubscribed and resubscribed both USCC and the Jazzycat add-on, and using RTD with its compatibility patch.

It took 13 real minutes of driving around Missouri on a mix of different roads for me to reach 30 counted trailers. Most of those were also still that Jazzycat concrete pump trailer I mentioned before, though none of the Ford SUV being towed after you worked on reducing that so that's a great positive. The one I saw the most after the concrete pump was the vanilla traffic UTV one.

I did another 20 minute or so run after that which took me from Nebraska into Iowa and it seemed to be a bit better (don't think I reached 30 trailers but wasn't counting that time to confirm) yet still too many but also more variety and not mainly the concrete pump.

@Kenzo Pizzster mods are about truck/trailers only, which is unrelated to this mod. You can freely use them together.
