Description

This is a Plugin Mod.
It requires Bepinex to be installed with the StationeersLaunchPad plugin.
See: https://github.com/StationeersLaunchPad/StationeersLaunchPad

Adds [/b]ItemKitFilterCleaner[/b] to Stationeers.
Sick of filters wearing out faster than your patience? Wish you could restore them instead of constantly crafting new ones? FilterCleanerMod™ lets you do just that by shaking the filth right out of them!

How It Works:
🔧 Restores Used Filters – Drop in a depleted filter, and watch as the Filter Cleaner violently shakes it back to life.
⚡ Runs on Electricity – Plug it in, power it up, and let the machine do its thing.
🤖 Fully Automatable – Works seamlessly with LArRE, the robotic arm, to insert used filters for cleaning.
📦 Smart Output – Clean filters are dropped in front of the machine, or sent directly into a chute network if connected.
🌱 Less Waste, More Air – Keep your station’s atmosphere clean without burning through resources.

💡 Install now and shake it till you make it!

Produced via tier two autolathe:
Time 10
Energy 500
Iron 20
Copper 5

Energy consumption idle 10W
Energy consumption when cleaning a small filter 100W
Energy consumption when cleaning a medium filter 150W
Energy consumption when cleaning a large filter 200W

Work in progress.

@WIKUS You might not, in your words, be a programmer by trade but you created something the devs never included in the game so far yet it sits on the first page of the most popular category of mods! Congrats and keep up the good work! Cheers and many thanks, again! :steamhappy:

Wonderful mod. The animation is superb! Very much in keeping with the vibe and is one of those "Why isnt this in the base game" moments. 10/10

Thank you... that really means a lot.

From what I’ve seen, the developers had the idea of a filter cleaner quite early on, but I imagine it got pushed down the priority list in favor of more urgent or higher-impact features. Still, despite the game’s modest sales, we still see many new additions... which is incredible, as many of you know. I do hope the game can reach a wider audience someday, though being niche is also part of what makes it so unique and special.

As for my mods... I’m not a programmer or game developer by trade, so they definitely have their rough edges. I mostly tinker and try to bring small ideas to life, with a tremendous amount of help from the community. What’s especially exciting right now is the wave of collaboration happening. There are some seriously talented people getting involved, and it’s great to see what comes out of all that creative energy.

Thanks again for the kind words. Feedback like yours really helps keep the motivation alive.

My friend, you are a godsend to the community! I had to recycle tons of filters in-game while playing Stationeers and also cleaned diesel, heavy fuel and oil filters in real life due to the nature of my job either by hand or using makeshift contraptions with steam, or simply industrial ultrasonic cleaners that must be left running for quite a few hours to actually shake off the mud from mesh filters :D
I know that in a game it might not be the thing that most easily crosses the devs' minds but coming from real life experience, many thanks! Keep up the good work!

Yea mods can give a pretty good idea about what players crave.
I think the SDB Silo and Hopper even started out as mods.

Love how the comments are adding idea's like water and a polluted mechanic (which greywater should be a mechanic in the game at this time. As they have showers and maybe one day a toilet).
The "steam" idea is good but sure there will be someone who doesn't read about it and then is pissed why they can't get the machine to work. Which will be all your fault Wilkus =P ( We can just imagine the Filter cleaner heats the water internally in it's power budget, if need be =D) but it could be an idea. Maybe if the water entering is at "temp" it could increase the efficiency of the machine for now if you like that idea?

This mod just fits in the spirit of the game, I'm just liking just the idea of reusing instead of disposing.

Don't care of the mod works or not, subscribing in hope it catches the Dev's eye.

Cheers Wikus!

Just recently updated the exporter alongside the unity version... which means I can finally have a look at how those configs are set up. This mod might not be perfect for testing because I will have to redo parts of the animation setup and sfx to control processing time... but if the config itself is easy to figure out I'll probably start here.

Any chance you could connect this with the "configuration manger" mod and let us set our own custom cleaning duration? I like the idea of having a few of these running at the same time just vibing all my filters back to usability.

I still have hopes that this (well not this but something proper that uses different resources) might be added to the base game. There has been some talk about a filter cleaner for the game a few years back and Rocket expressed some interest. That being said, in anticipation of it (despite the lack of any confirmation) I probably won't try to get this going for the mod and leave it with this substantial amount of cheese. At least for the time being. If I revisit this then I'll probably end up redoing everything... at which point I'll probably make it a separate version.
