@WIKUS You might not, in your words, be a programmer by trade but you created something the devs never included in the game so far yet it sits on the first page of the most popular category of mods! Congrats and keep up the good work! Cheers and many thanks, again! :steamhappy:

Wonderful mod. The animation is superb! Very much in keeping with the vibe and is one of those "Why isnt this in the base game" moments. 10/10

Thank you... that really means a lot.

From what I’ve seen, the developers had the idea of a filter cleaner quite early on, but I imagine it got pushed down the priority list in favor of more urgent or higher-impact features. Still, despite the game’s modest sales, we still see many new additions... which is incredible, as many of you know. I do hope the game can reach a wider audience someday, though being niche is also part of what makes it so unique and special.

As for my mods... I’m not a programmer or game developer by trade, so they definitely have their rough edges. I mostly tinker and try to bring small ideas to life, with a tremendous amount of help from the community. What’s especially exciting right now is the wave of collaboration happening. There are some seriously talented people getting involved, and it’s great to see what comes out of all that creative energy.

Thanks again for the kind words. Feedback like yours really helps keep the motivation alive.

Love it, great mod and the animation is very satisfying! good stuff.

My friend, you are a godsend to the community! I had to recycle tons of filters in-game while playing Stationeers and also cleaned diesel, heavy fuel and oil filters in real life due to the nature of my job either by hand or using makeshift contraptions with steam, or simply industrial ultrasonic cleaners that must be left running for quite a few hours to actually shake off the mud from mesh filters :D
I know that in a game it might not be the thing that most easily crosses the devs' minds but coming from real life experience, many thanks! Keep up the good work!
...and Take My Points!

Yea mods can give a pretty good idea about what players crave.
I think the SDB Silo and Hopper even started out as mods.

Love how the comments are adding idea's like water and a polluted mechanic (which greywater should be a mechanic in the game at this time. As they have showers and maybe one day a toilet).
The "steam" idea is good but sure there will be someone who doesn't read about it and then is pissed why they can't get the machine to work. Which will be all your fault Wilkus =P ( We can just imagine the Filter cleaner heats the water internally in it's power budget, if need be =D) but it could be an idea. Maybe if the water entering is at "temp" it could increase the efficiency of the machine for now if you like that idea?

This mod just fits in the spirit of the game, I'm just liking just the idea of reusing instead of disposing.

Don't care of the mod works or not, subscribing in hope it catches the Dev's eye.

Cheers Wikus!

Just recently updated the exporter alongside the unity version... which means I can finally have a look at how those configs are set up. This mod might not be perfect for testing because I will have to redo parts of the animation setup and sfx to control processing time... but if the config itself is easy to figure out I'll probably start here.

Any chance you could connect this with the "configuration manger" mod and let us set our own custom cleaning duration? I like the idea of having a few of these running at the same time just vibing all my filters back to usability.
WIKUS  [author] 3 May @ 11:54am
I still have hopes that this (well not this but something proper that uses different resources) might be added to the base game. There has been some talk about a filter cleaner for the game a few years back and Rocket expressed some interest. That being said, in anticipation of it (despite the lack of any confirmation) I probably won't try to get this going for the mod and leave it with this substantial amount of cheese. At least for the time being. If I revisit this then I'll probably end up redoing everything... at which point I'll probably make it a separate version.

I second the idea of this requiring water, and maybe charcoal too. It should pollute the water (necessitating the use of one-way valves and some way of cleaning the water)
WIKUS  [author] 3 Apr @ 2:12am
The initial draft included a pipe connection. I have been trying to hook the device up with the games atmospherics system for something very similar. I just started to learn a bit of programming though and getting this in is challenging for me. But maybe I can find another modder for a collab or revisit this one day.

You should make it use water or something else when it cleans things, and just make that it cant completely clean filters without the specific things like water or even coal.
Just for balance and such.
WIKUS  [author] 3 Apr @ 1:33am
It is fixed. Cargo LArRE is now able to interact with the device just like the regular LArRE. Thanks for the report @module0x90
WIKUS  [author] 2 Apr @ 12:34pm
So after comparing setups it turned out that the regular Larry works but the cargo Larry is a bit special. Will have to investigate this.
WIKUS  [author] 1 Apr @ 2:46pm
Currently my best bet is that this is a user error as I am using the same mod version as you and so far this is the only report of this kind. Without more information, best I can do is test it again and tell you that it still works here and ask if you tried turning it off and back on again :mern: If you are on the discord feel free to share a video or a screenshot or two of the setup so it is easier to pinpoint the issue.
module0x90 1 Apr @ 12:13pm
To be clear - LArRE has the depleted filter in its hand and either manually or via IC10 it is trying to put it in the filter cleaner - it keeps holding it in its hand and doesn't get rid of it.
I originally tried a rail height where the arm seemingly can't reach, so I lowered the rails temporarily. Now the "filter insert" animation looks like in your video. But it still doesn't deposit the depleted filter.
I am using the cargo LArRE.
WIKUS  [author] 1 Apr @ 1:10am
I just gave it a try in case I broke something but here it works. Can you confirm that your Larry is at the correct height? The arm needs to be able to fully extend in order to insert the filter as seen in the video.
module0x90 31 Mar @ 4:31pm
Is this actually still working?
My LArRE doesn't insert the filter in its hand.
I can't get it to work manually nor via IC10.
Essedus 30 Mar @ 11:25am
Oh hell yes. This is so awesome.
WIKUS  [author] 30 Mar @ 11:18am
Alright... looks like I finally finished the bug hunt and it works the way it should. Please let me know if I missed some.

100% every time. This was built with pure convenience in mind. I do hope though that the game will receive a more plausible version of this at some point.
Fused 28 Mar @ 8:58am
Does it restore to 100% every time or is there a slight degradation each time it's cleaned?
HyratelWyvern 27 Mar @ 8:52pm
this is a big YES PLEASE
WIKUS  [author] 27 Mar @ 8:18pm
The initial draft included a pipe connection. I have been trying to somehow hookup the device with the games atmospherics system for something very similar. I just started to learn a bit of programming though and getting this going proved to be a tough nut so far. But maybe I can find another modder for a collab or revisit this one day.
Kastuk 27 Mar @ 4:49pm
Washmashine! May be reused for overalls and sweaty suits too.
TrippleTrip 27 Mar @ 4:37pm
Just an Idea, what if it needed a connected gas pipe with over 150 C steam in it to clean filters. It would convert steam into polluted water over time as it restores the filter, ejecting the filter when its completely restored or out of steam to work with. The polluted water would be output via a liquid pipe.
WIKUS  [author] 27 Mar @ 3:39pm
I can extend the cleaning process a bit now. Had to figure out how to pause the animation first. Especially now that I added an on off switch. Gonna be in the next update.
GRAiN_ger 27 Mar @ 3:16pm
This is so cute! Love It. Thanks!
But the cleaning time is so fast, you can enjouy it only for few seconds.
Chipstix213 26 Mar @ 3:36pm
Now I have too many filters 😵‍💫
