MAJOR UPDATE June 5th
New features -- existing users need to regenerate the config file to use the new options
  • added option to let AI fists or melee weapon KOs trigger abduction
  • option to allow only specific melee weapons to trigger abduction
  • added option to restrict abduction by AI faction
  • better random loot barrel placement
  • option to allow loot barrel to smoke for easier locating
  • option to define specific location for loot barrel to spawn (see config explanation)
  • added check so if other players are nearby (~30m) then a player won't be abducted
  • added option for using handcuffs or ducttape
  • fixed bug with abduction chances after first failed abduction
  • corrected stashRadius calculation

Description
AI Abductors brings a new element to your DayZ Expansion server — AI can now kidnap players and drag them off to unknown locations.

When an AI tasers or KOs a player using melee there is a configurable chance the player will be abducted, have their gear stripped, and wake up surrounded by wolves in the wilderness — or worse. You can even send them to custom locations like jails.

It works like this:
  • AI shoots player with a Expansion taser or optionally just KOs them
  • If conditions are met the player is abducted
  • Players hands are bound and head is optionally bagged
  • Gear is optionally stripped and stashed somewhere nearby
  • Player wakes up in a random spot or a custom location
  • Player escapes bindings and has a chance to recover any stripped gear by finding it

Features
AI Abductors is highly configurable:
  • Configurable chance of abduction on AI taser hit
  • Set chance of player being taken to a “special location” vs. random area
  • Customize gear stripping and stash radius
  • Spawn wolves, bears, or any entity to prowl around the waking player
  • Customize player warning messages and icons
  • Customizable discord webhook to notify others of the event
  • Optional AI squad can spawn after abduction with full loadout/settings control
  • Configure AI to spawn randomly around the waking player or in specific locations
  • Customizable AI behaviors

Additional features:
  • Mathematically compatible with any map
  • Abduction can be triggered by any AI using a Expansion Taser
  • Tasers function as normal when used by players

Requirements

Installation
  • Install as a client-side mod (must be on both client and server)
  • Install the required Expansion mods
  • Launch the server once to generate the config at: `profiles/AIAbductors/`
  • Add the required entry to your types for the loot barrel
  • Open the mod install folder for a full explanation of all options

No repacks, reuploads, or redistributions are allowed under any circumstances.

FAQ
  • Yes, you need Expansion & Expansion AI & Expansion Weapons at minimum. I recommend the full Bundle
  • AI must have taser and a loaded taser magazine to trigger abductions with a taser. Taser not needed if melee is enabled

  • Naked AI are a sign your loadout file is broken

    A big thanks to the Expansion mod developers for the effort and time they put into such a wonderful and transforming mod

    KNOWN ISSUE
    If you are using a specialLocationPosition with the loot barrel being randomly placed around the player AND experience any issue with black screen it is due to the area being difficult for the mod to place the loot barrel. To many objects in the area can do this. Until a fix is in place simply define a specialStashPosition or move your specialLocationPosition somewhere less crowded.

Cant compile world, need the grave cross type to start the server. I dont wanna use the expansion content but the IA, but I also love the idea of this mod. i hope you can remove the dependency.

Probably. Unless it uses "Bullet_Expansion_Taser" it won't work. You can set any melee KO to trigger abduction now if you really don't want to run weapons. Regen your config if you don't see melee options

@Dr. Berry it should be good to run without weapons. I need to update description. Ranged weapons should not make you abducted only melee or whatever else you define in the config

for some reason were not getting abducted anymore, could that be because i dont use expansion weapons and instead for the taser i use x2 taser mod by not a banana

Can I use this mod without Expansion weapons? Also getting uncon by gunshots make you go abducted?

Can you set it up so everytime they knock you out (unless there's another player near you or something like that), even with bullets, they can abduct you?

Update the description of the config and the description of each function in all your mod's, especially in this one.
