Space Navigation Example Rocket

Description
Space travel made easy.

This is an example rocket for builders that is capable of navigating to any set of coordinates on earth, in space, or on the moon. Feel free to use its functionality in your own builds.

Includes:

- Navball
- Target coordinates autopilot (or more accurately, a flight director)
- Moon/earth travel autopilot (flight director)
- RCS control system
- HUD display radar system
- Astronomy sensor to physics sensor converter
- GPS

REQUIRES INFINITE FUEL AND ELECTRICITY

Instructions for use:

FLIGHT

- Throttle up and hit 1 to light the engines
- I recommend having rotation stabilization turned on at all times

NAVBALL

For those who have already played KSP, using the Navball should be second nature. For those unfamiliar:

The main ones you care about are Prograde, Retrograde, and the target markers. Prograde is the direction you are currently moving in space, and you want this to overlap the target marker in order to burn towards it.

To slow down and stop, you need to flip around and point Retrograde, then burn your engines.

TARGET AUTOPILOT

- Input coordinates in the keypads and select the appropriate mode: Earth, Astronomy, or Moon coordinates.
- Push the Draw Target button
- Take off and aim your prograde vector at the target marker

EARTH/MOON AUTOPILOT

- Turn on earth-moon autopilot button
- Choose direction on flip switch
- Push the Draw Target button
- Aim at target marker on navball

I don't actually know how to make an autopilot. I could probably figure it out, but it would likely only work for *this* specific vehicle, and would not work on whatever ship you're making. Every ship flies a bit differently depending on size, weight, amount of thrusters, amount of control surfaces, etc.

do you think with this setup you could automate the autopilot?
like that it can automatically fly and reach the point
i will actually try this

oh damn

That station is the default one that spawns as part of some space missions.

this is awesome also what is the station in the picture?

Omg awesome

This is AMAZING, I didn't even think navigating in space was a possibility!
