Cargo Holds

Description
Floor storage (in bulk!) inspired by primitive storage cellars. I made these for my ships but I think you guys might also like it. You can find everything in the storage tab.

This mod is absolutely not meant to replace any storage mods here on the workshop but instead complement them by allowing the player ship to have bulk storage capabilities too.

Features
  • Small cargo compartment can store 50 stacks of things.
  • Cargo holds can store up to 100 stacks of things.
  • Refrigerated cargo holds can store up to 100 stacks of things but also needs 300w of electricity to refrigerate.
  • 2x2 cargo hold can store 200 stacks of things and can only be built on a substructure (Odyssey DLC).
  • Massive cargo hold can store up to 1000 stacks of things but it can only be built on a substructure (Odyssey DLC).

Recommended mods
  • No tile destruction on gravship launch
    Although I don't use it, I highly recommend getting this so it would be possible to do bulk transporting (base moving etc) with the massive cargo hold. :)
  • Stack Gap
    I am not the best in balancing (since this is quite literally my first rimworld mod lol) so please feel free to use stack gap if you feel like the storage capacity is too big.
  • Scrollable Gizmos
    The architect tab breaks whenever you have way too much objects installed. This will remedy that.
  • AS - Global Settings
    This has been suggested multiple times for those who feel that the storage capabilities of this mod is too much. Please see the discussion tab for more information.

Q: Why DLC-lock the massive cargo hold?
A: I used an upscaled (and cleaned) ancient stockpile texture for that so I think that's fitting.
Q: Is the small cargo compartments just a glorified retexture of primitive storage cellars?
A: I don't think so.
Q: Is this balanced?
A: I think so. (This was sarcastic btw.) Please use Stack Gap if you feel that my "balancing" is not enough.
Q: 300w for the refrigerated cargo hold?!
A: Yes, because this is not meant to replace refrigerators.
Q: Is it possible to edit this mod to remove adjacency requirements?

7/28/25 - It took me a while to learn how everything works with modding and texturing. More things may come if you guys like what you see.

Hello there. Nice Mod, thanks for that. But there is a small issue with it. I had a large Cargohold and 6 smaller ones and with every start, my game crashed. So i got rid of the cargo holds (not the mod itself) and then i was able to fly. So you may look up at that.

I don't know if it's possible but can you make these less of an object and more of a floor? For example, in a 2 wide corridor for my spaceship, my pawns will actively walk around the 2x1 cargo holds if they are lining a wall, effectively making it a 1 wide corridor. they are more likely to walk through a mechanoid recharger than one of these cargo holds. Would also be super cool if we could place things like chairs on top of them for a bit more dynamic setup of a workshop room.

So I have this weird feeling that it is only possible for my mechs, for only one of them at a time to be able to haul something to the 2x1 cargo hold. I deconstructed some floor tiles and as soon as I made another stockpile (the brick stockpile from reels expanded storage) and suddenly more than one mech and even my pawns joined in to haul the bricks. I hope that makes sens. Cheers, great work!

@[Recon] - Thank you for asking that. I have a plan for that, don't worry. I will test first on how it will affect my game. But my original plan is to duplicate all existing storages, add a prefix to the old ones and new ones will get the normal names. That way existing storages will not explode and everyone will be happy (hopefully).
