How to optimize your PC
By Rajofperting
A short guide to displaying in large format the solutions repeated many times on the game's troubleshooting thread, but which newcomers never see (either due to lack of knowledge or laziness).
Of course, this guide won't solve every problem, but at least it will (I hope) help a large number of people.

Introduction
There's no point blaming the developers if the game doesn't work on your PC (WINDOWS).

Even if you reset your PC, there's always a risk that the game won't start or load on your PC.
Why?
Because, like any machine, a PC requires fine-tuning to ensure maximum reliability and performance.
A game is, above all, a program; the environment in which it's installed must be adapted to run smoothly.
No matter your hardware, if the system isn't adapted, you'll be stuck.

Through this guide, I'll try to provide you with as much help and useful information as possible that can (I hope) correct the problems you're experiencing with the game, although I suspect it won't solve all of them.
Windows Firewall & Antivirus
Add the following folders and executables to the Windows Firewall and Antivirus exclusion list

FOLDERS
- EasyAntiCheat : C:/Programs (x86)/EasyAntiCheat/
- EasyAntiCheat_EOS : C:/Programs (x86)/EasyAntiCheat_EOS/
- Steam : C:/Programs (x86)/Steam/

EXE
- EasyAntiCheat.exe : C:/Programs (x86)/EasyAntiCheat/EasyAntiCheat.exe
- EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe : C:/Programs (x86)/EasyAntiCheat_EOS/EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe
- EACLauncher.exe : C:/Programs (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/CarX Street/EACLauncher.exe)
- CarX Street Launcher.exe : C:/Programs (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/CarX Street/CarX Street Launcher.exe
- CarX Street.exe : C:/Programs (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/CarX Street/CarX Street.exe

---------

If you moved the Steam games to another local drive, add the corresponding folder but don't forget to add the files and folders present on the C:/.
For example :

FOLDER
- SteamLibrary : D:/SteamLibrary/

EXE
- EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup : D:/SteamLibrary/CarX Street/EasyAntiCheat/EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe
- EACLauncher.exe : D:/SteamLibrary/CarX Street/EACLauncher.exe
- CarX Street Launcher.exe : D:/SteamLibrary/CarX Street/CarX Street Launcher.exe
- CarX Street.exe : D:/SteamLibraryCarX Street/CarX Street.exe

---------

Since the firewall is different from the antivirus, don't forget to add these rules (executable files) in the firewall (Defender) in addition to the exclusion in your antivirus.

1 - Press the Windows key on the keyboard to open the menu, then search for or type control panel and click on it.

2 - Under Control Panel Home, click System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall..
Under Control Panel Home, click Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.

3 - Click Change Settings, and add programs (browse exetucable i listed earlier), and activate private and public rules for every executables added, at the end verify and click on Ok to complete the process.

Steam settings
1 - Steam Client (application), click on Steam, then Properties:

~~~~~~~~
2 - Click on "Download" tab, scroll down and uncheck:
- Uncheck "Allow Vulkan shader processing in the background"
- Then uncheck "Enable shader caching (0MB preloaded)"
This can resolve many system stability issues related to GPU / SSD usage.
~~~~~~~~

3 - {Optional} Click on "Cloud" tab, uncheck "Enable Steam Cloud":

This avoids the well-known issue of corrupted saves, a problem that affects many games regardless of the game editor or game style (like in Grid, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Car Mechanic Simulator's, etc...).
For my part i always turn off this option since one day i experienced this problem in 2014.

ATTENTION !
Do not disable it if you play your games on multiple different machines or if you play only on Steam Deck. When this option is unchecked, your progress on your PC will no longer be synchronized with the Steam Cloud, and you will no longer be able to resume the game where you left off if you decide to play it on Steam Deck or another machine, for example (unless you manually copy and transfer your save to the other machines).

~~~~~~~~
4 - On your games library on Steam Client:
If after that you continue to have crash game.
Right click on CarX Street from your Steam games list, click on "properties" and add launch option game:
if you've 16 Gb RAM and 8Gb GPU :
-maxMem=10240 -maxVram=7168
This force game to use maximum 10Gb Ram and 7Gb VRam (GPU Memory).
if you've 32 Gb RAM and 8Gb GPU :
-maxMem=20480 -maxVram=7168
This force game to use maximum 20Gb Ram and 7Gb VRam (GPU Memory).
if you've 32 Gb RAM and more of 8Gb GPU :
you do multiplier 1024 x count of Gb VRAM, because 1Gb = 1024Mb less 1Gb to keep max performances,
So for example if you've GPU with 16 Gb = 1024 x 15 = 15360 = so you do type this :
-maxMem=20480 -maxVram=15360
Same for ram, but normally 20Gb RAM is sufficient.
Keep always minimum 5/8Gb for operating system W10, and minimum 6/10Gb for operating system W11.
5 - ON PC, if you have multiple SSDs installed:
I strongly recommend moving your games to a secondary SSD (different from the one Windows is installed on).
There are several reasons for this advice:
- Reduces the SSD's workload.
- Increases SSD longevity (lifespan / performance).
- Improves system and game performance.
Another tip: always keep at least 10% (15/20% is ideal) of free space on your SSD's storage; this is very important for its performance and longevity. Whether it's for the operating system SSD or the game storage SSD, etc...
for example :
I'll give you the details of my configuration (note that if you have a more recent or powerful machine than mine, that means your problem is with your machine and not the game):
- Intel i7-4790K + Arctic Freezer 33 Plus + 2x Arctic BioniX P120 PWM PST Grey.
- MSI Z97M Gaming.
- 32Gb DDR3-1600 (helped by 64Gb of virtual ram, useful when doing 8K photorealistic rendering).
- MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8Gb.
- Kingston KC400 512Gb SSD (WIN10 Pro / Pro Softwares).
- Kingston KC600 1Tb SSD (Steam Games / User Folders).
- SSD PNY CS900 1Tb [Partitioned: 1) Record NvidiaApp / Working space (853Gb size) / 2) VirtualRAM “Virtual Memory” (100Gb size)].
- Win 10 Pro.
- Corsair HX1000 PSU.
- Bitfenix Neos White/White.
- Thrustmaster Eswap S Pro Controller.
- Dual Screen
And I often have Google Chrome open in the background, as well as the media player to listen to my favorite playlists, sometimes I even do some elite club races while following my series on either Disney+ (app) or PrimeVideo (Google Chrome), without it changing anything to my in-game framerate.
How to read errors messages ?
Before posting a vague comment about your game crashing in the game's discussion forum.
It would be much easier for those reading this and who might want to help you solve your crashing issues to provide more specific information, including as much as possible, as follows:
- Your hardware configuration (CPU, RAM, GPU, SSDs, PSU, Game Devices, and whether you've overclocked your CPU and/or RAM).
- Your user interface (Windows version, whether you're using a VPN or not, if you're using an antivirus other than Windows Defender (specify which one), and if you have any other applications running other than Steam and CarX Street).
- Finally, specify your internet connection (via SpeedTest: down and up speeds, and latency of your connection), and specify whether you're using Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
If you experience game crashes, even without an error message:
- On your keyboard, press the Windows key + R
- Then, in the Run field, type eventvwr and OK
- In the left column, expand the "Windows Logs" sub-group, then click once on "Application".
- In the center column, look for a message with a red symbol whose timestamp corresponds to the time of the game crash. Left-click on it to display the error message in the view that appears below:
* Copy the general message and share it with us / Then, in the "Details" tab, in simplified view, open the "System" info to get the precise crash information, copy everything and share it with us. Depending on the user's system settings and hardware configuration, an error code can be valuable information to guide the narrower selection of possible game crashes.
Without all this, complaining about a game crash will serve no purpose other than to lengthen the list of complaints about game crashes without specific information about the machine on which the crash occurred.
