Medieval 2 Total War - Classic Combat

Omschrijving
- - This is a variant of my "Rome Total War Classic Combat" mod. This one includes kill-moves, which have a moderate chance of triggering, and also includes projectile inaccuracy. All of the features of this mod, reproduce a very similar feeling of Medieval 2 Total War's combat. - -

* Units in melee will now spread out, and give room for their men to fight

* No more rubber banding effect.

* Weaker units will get pushed backwards as they lose the fight

* Cavalry has a much more 'heavy' impact when charging

* Infantry in melee combat now form 'battle lines', which they will add reserves to during the fight

* You may see unique events, like singular men running from the fight, or running towards the fight. You may see a couple of cowards refusing to fight, or 2 men holding off 10 men.

* Battles are much more fluid, and have an overall deeper 'feeling' to them

* Removed the buggy formation attack.

* Projectiles now have inaccuracies to them, and act more like Medieval 2 Total War's projectiles did.

@{Δ} Achilles interesting take on the matter! You are right... I think it does invite change of tactics due to this.

@Akay64gm
That is intended. Realistically charging a formed infantry unit with cavalry is suicidal unless they break or have terrible discipline and spacing. That is the entire purpose of the tactics used by the Parthians against the Romans. They would bait charges by the Legionaries by using mounted archers, and threaten to check them with cataphracts.

One unfortunate side effect of the spacing increase is that cavalry gets stuck between infantry on the charge so in a cycle charge tactic you would normally lose 1 horse, you end up loosing 15 to 20
