That is intended. Realistically charging a formed infantry unit with cavalry is suicidal unless they break or have terrible discipline and spacing. That is the entire purpose of the tactics used by the Parthians against the Romans. They would bait charges by the Legionaries by using mounted archers, and threaten to check them with cataphracts.

One unfortunate side effect of the spacing increase is that cavalry gets stuck between infantry on the charge so in a cycle charge tactic you would normally lose 1 horse, you end up loosing 15 to 20

Probably not, since it relies on tweaking battle entities, which most mods that add units will tweak. It might still partially function, but it won't function 100%.

Fantastic mod! Makes combat so much more cinematic looking. Is there anyway you could do this but without affecting the unit spacing when in formation? Just have them spread out when engaged. The cavelry spacing is a bit odd aswell, they look very unorganised but that said definiantely worth it for better battles and sieges.

I constantly see a very select few kill moves during combat. I guess it's just me. I'll test it again and tell you if something's wrong

Thanks for making these mods compatible with other mods im trying it (well the rome total war version) with DEI right now and it feels nice i tried every official sub mod but none of them got even close to mimicing the older systems

@Adrias It can, potentially, unless that unit mod uses its own battle_entities, in which case it will not, and the units will behave strangely or be overpowered/underpowered.

Hey, I like the mod so far as the battles are definetly longer and feel as though they are akin to medieval battle length. However, when I fight battles I usually only lose roughly 400-600 guys while the enemy has two stacks and will lose said two stack. Its only early game, around turn 30, is something that will continue or will the numbers of casualties become more even as the campaign progresses? -Thanks for the work in this mod

@Pharaoh it does not work. DEI adds new units to the game that use their own entities system. My combat mod will not change those units, so you'll have a bunch of units that do act normally, then a bunch of new units that work off their own special rules.

This mod does still work, I just fought a couple battles with it to test it. Even with 30 other mods activated it was still pretty stable. Might want to use the pack file editor to turn down the melee chance to hit like I did though, otherwise melee fights end pretty quickly.
