Dori Mk4

Description
Hi all,

This is Dori Mk4, a Planet-to-Space and back cargo hauler. The idea behind Dori Mk4 was to come up with a ship design that was capable of traveling to space while hauling a number of components to build an early space station in survival.

For example, using Dori Mk4, you can haul every needed component to create a Beta Base ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=604513648 ) in space assuming you're playing in x10 inventory.

Dori Mk4 is also equipped with the following:

1) A merge block for attaching Nemo V1.2 to be used as an asteroid mining attachment.

2) 2 Gatling Guns and 2 Gatling Turrets. This gives Dori Mk4 some decent offensive capabilities should you happen to run into pirates while in space.

3) Hover Altitude Aligner in-game script for handling both cruising attitudes (0 degrees) as well as take-off attitudes (90 degrees).

4) Lift-off Manager in-game script for managing forward thrust override while escaping planet gravity. This script will help to conserve as much hydrogen as possible.

Guide A - How to escape planet gravity with Dori Mk4:
- Start at a horizontal position and ensure all Hydrogen Thrusters are OFF
- Utilize "Up" Atmospheric Thrusters to ascend (spacebar)
- Once speed starts dropping from max, use Toolbar's 2nd Tab 2nd Hotkey to trigger Lift-Off Timer. This will pitch the nose straight up (90 degrees), turn all Hydro Thrusters ON, and set all forward thrusters to max override
- Sit back, relax, and let Dori Mk4 take care of the rest. Assuming you still have dampeners ON, Dori Mk4 will automatically stop itself once outside the gravity field. If dampeners are OFF, Dori Mk4 will continue traveling away from planet.

Guide B - Planetary Re-entry:
- Ensure you're outside Planetary Gravity well
- Using Toolbar's 2nd Tab 3rd Hotkey, ABORT all scripts
- Fly towards planet and turn Hydro Thrusters OFF mid-flight. Ensure Dampeners are ON
- Once in Planetary Gravity, align Dori Mk4 with horizon by pressing Toolbar's 2nd Tab 1st Hotkey

Keen broke a lot of scripts recently.

@[AT]Driky That would be amazing if there is indeed a problem with the lift off script. Unfortunately, the lift-off script isn't my own - it is actually found below:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=561944966&searchtext=Liftoff+manager

If it is broken for Dori here, then it is likely broken for Crush and Bruce as well.. which is a bit concerning. I haven't really played SE much in a few weeks, so I havn't had a chance to notice any issues.

Please let me know if you find any further issues!

Hey Tuuvas, thx for the Dori it's very handy. But the lift-off script is bugged at ligne 54.

If i have time later i will see if i can correct it but i have yet to start scripting in this game so no promise.

I looked into this ship and yeah, it does seem a bit sluggish and jerky compared to some other ships. From what I can tell this is from a few different sources. For one thing, there are turrets on the ship which count as attached grids, which confuses even Space Engineers itself. There are only 6 small gyros on the ship, but it's very heavy at over 100000 kg, so it has weak rotation anyway. I switched it so only one gyro is in the Aligner group to give player control more boost. AND the angular damping is kicking in a lot when you're just trying to turn the ship, so I turned ExtraDamping2 down to .2 and that helped a bit. I suspect you may be right about the off-center gyros but I have to go to work and don't have time to try rearranging them right now.
