Expanded Mission Names

Description
Ever feel like there just isn't enough variety in the mission names churned out during your campaign? I sure did after being offered "Operation Spider Killer" in three consecutive campaigns. So I decided to do something about that.

This mod adds over 1900 words that the game can pick from to generate mission names, in addition to what is in the base game.

This is the original version of this mod, built with the SDK for vanilla XCom 2. As far as as can tell, this version works just fine with the War of the Chosen expansion, but to be safe I have created a WotC version. Grab it here if you are concerned about compatibility (or just want the little yellow warning flag to go away):

***Update 9/2/17***
- Launched War of the Chosen version. I'm 99.9% sure that the original version of this mod is compatible with either version of the game, but this will ensure 100% compatibility with WotC.
- Since I'm actively playing XCom again (as I'm sure many others are since the new expansion dropped), you can expect to see more updates to this mod in the near future.

***UPDATE 2/10/17***
- Added around 400 new words to the lists, bringing the total of new additions to +1900.
- Removed ordered references from all of my additions (thanks to Dragon32 for the tip). This should allow my mod to be fully compatible with any other mods that add to the mission name arrays. (In personal testing, this also seems to make the results even more random than before. Yay!)
- Finally updated the preview image to remove that typo....
- Speaking of typos, I think I have everything spelled correctly. Give me a shout if you find any I missed.

***UPDATE 5/20/16***
- Shuffled some of the mission name lists. This should keep the game's PsuedoRNG from clustering in the default names and generate better variety.
- Removed duplicate words from the base game lists (Firaxis used "Purple" and "Tears" twice in the same list....)
- Added a few new words, and removed a couple I wasn't happy with.
- Fixed typos (I'll fix the preview graphic eventually)

Disclaimers and disclosures:

- Should not conflict with any other mods.

- The vast majority of the new additions are in keeping with the game's original flavor, but there are a small number of wacky options (because sometimes you need a good laugh after watching your soldiers get curbstomped for the 100th time). If you are the type who is concerned about the tiny possibilty of "Operation Squid Pants" showing up and breaking your immersion, consider this fair warning.

- There are a very small number of "strong" words like "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" and "♥♥♥♥♥" included that I felt were in line with the game's tone. Since I do understand that some people are more easily offended than others, I felt I should offer a warning. This mod DOES NOT contain profanity, vulgar language, or blatantly inflammatory terms. I haven't combed through every possible combination, though, so please let me know if the game accidentaly churns out something inappropriate.

- You will see words reused during a single campaign, and you will still run into plenty of vanilla Op names. RNGesus does not answer to me.

- English only. I have no plans to translate this to any other languages at this time.

Hi there, this is causing a crash within the latest 1.3 release of the Alternative Mod Launcher.
Possible bug theory is this;

Look like a bug in the RTF parser.
AML 1.3 supports extended formatting for the mod description
Probably some edge case due to some uncommon formatting

Is happen on both versions (vanilla and WOTC), sorry to bug report in both :)

Thank you author!

I work full-time during the week, so my time to test since WotC dropped has been limited, but it does look like this will work with eiter version of the game without issue. Either way, I will be releasing a WotC-specific version of this mod this weekend just to ensure there are no issues for anyone.

This adds a bunch of words into the localisation file. The format of which hasn't changed (for mission names at least) so I'd say this should be fine.

20 hours later, does it work with WOTC?

LOL, nice. Thank you.

@Nasarog: Rest assured, the Chosen will be showing up in "Operation Screaming Squirrel", "Operation Naked Dancer", "Operation Chocolate Ninja", and all of your other favorites.

I am downloading WotC as I type this, so I don't know if that will require an update to this or a separate WotC-compatible version just yet. This is a very simple mod, though, so my gut tells me that this will probably work just fine as it is.

Willl this be updated for War of the Chosen?

@Dragon32: Thanks for the tip on adding entries without the array numbers! I'll work on implementing that for sure! I am aiming to have an update out in the next week or two. As for the typos you posted a ways back, I'm pretty sure I cleaned all of those up the last time I pushed out an update. I'll give it another run through just to make sure.

@Havelock: Like I said, I'm happy to take a look and see what fits in here. I haven't looked to see if there is a tutorial already out there for making a mod like this, but it's pretty basic. I'll see about putting something together if I have some time, if there is a need for it.

In the meantime, feel free to use mine as a template if you want to tinker around on your own. There really isn't anything "proprietary" about how this is put together.

Great, I'll send you the list, then. In retrospect, my full list is more into the 'wacky' side of things, but there are a few there that should fit the game.

Also, while on the subject, do you think you could link to a tutorial on how to make a mod like yours? In the event I feel like it one day, I'd like another shot at making my own, full-wacky name list, for funzies.
