Description
NOTE THAT THIS MOD CAN MAKE YOUR CAMPAIGN SIGNIFICANTLY MORE DIFFICULT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A STRATEGY GOING IN, ESPECIALLY FOR FACTIONS WITHOUT LARGE ALLIANCES. IT REQUIRES YOU TO THINK AND PLAN AHEAD FOR EVERY WAR YOU WAGE. YOU MUST ALSO SEND GENERALS, AGENTS, AND TROOPS HOME AS THEY WEAR DOWN (DISBAND, REPLACE, AND MERGE UNTIL THEY ARE READY AGAIN), THEY WILL NOT RESURRECT OR MAGICALLY HEAL APART FROM BATTLEFIELD HEALING SPELLS

This mod began as a simple faction rename mod, since I absolutely hated what CA did with the faction names in this game, and no one else could seem to do it right. It evolved into something so much more, trying to make the campaign much less gamey and feel more real. It isn't an easy or balanced mod, nor should it be!

The mod is split up into its individual parts if you only want certain features, and is available in the above collection!

CURRENT CHANGES (refer to the pages posted for details/lists)
- The Empire, Brettonia, and Athel Loren are unified as defensive alliances, all Dwarfs are at war with all Greenskins and will let other Dwarf armies cross, Chaos is at war with everyone except Greenskins and Vampires
- 10 building slot capitals (with 6 slot minor settlements on the way!)
- Doubled base horde growth to compensate for the extra building slots and to make hordes better
- Removed Chaos horde attrition because you should be a badass doom stack
- There is no longer a replenishment rate; you must strategically plan your campaigns as none of your troops will magically resurrect anymore, and generals/agents will not heal while on the war path, except with some specific traits/abilities (very minor replenishment)
- Public order now matters, having low public order will result in decreased provincial revenue and growth, while having high public order will boost it slightly
- Unique, important settlements have special buildings already constructed (because wtf why are these ancient structures not there to begin with?)
- Some settlements now have garrisons to start with (Helmgart and Montfort among others) and some factions starting with just a minor settlement now have more buildings in them along with a garrison (Skarsnik and Mousillion among others)
- Siege times drastically reduced (Because wtf a siege takes longer than building a castle??? I know a siege can last years but cmon these are the absurd design decisions that made me take the plunge to modding to begin with)
- Settlement owner changes (just Empire Separatists in the wastelend for now, will add more later!)
- Some starting vassalizations (Von Carstein Dystansty lords over Scwarzhafen, Wurrzag over the Top Knotz savages)

FUTURE CHANGES
- 6 building slots for minor cities
- Significantly longer building construction times, 1 turn to recruit any unit even with global recruitment
- Some unit recruitment changes (core recruitable from cities, select beastmen units with chaos, etc)
- Legendary Lord Start Positions
- Unlocking Tilea, Border Princes, Estalia, Kislev, Skaeling, Skull-Takerz, and Kraka Drak (plus all new legendary lord factions unlocked)
***DESPERATELY NEED HELP WITH THIS, I tried opening other faction unlockers up but I can't understand anything in them
- Tweak the settlement restrictions to not have the Dwarfs colonize the Badlands but only retake their holds, allow humans/vampires to reclaim the Badlands, but not the dwarf holds, allow Norscans to colonize Kraka Drak's province, and other instances (Have an idea of how to do this but it takes a ton of work and is so far unstable and can crash)
- All Norscan high tribes already present at the start
- New factions such as Mourkain in the Badlands, Blood Dragons/Strigoi hordes, more Orc tribes, more Dwarf holds, all of the Norscan tribes already awake, Waagh! Azhag as a horde, more hordes and horde-like expeditions from larger empires

I'm currently trying to understand how Magnar made his Legendary Lord Start Positions mod so that I can make my own lore and conflict appropriate version with:
-Vlad with the Von Carstein Dynasty in Drakenhof, Mannfred/Ghorst with the Von Carstein Bloodline in Templehof, and The Red Duke/Kemmler with the Undead Scourge in Mousillion
-Franz/Gelt in Altdorf, Volkmar in Averland, and Todbringer in Middenland
-Grimgor with Waaagh! Grimgor in Black Crag/Karak Drazh, Azhag with Waaagh! Azhag in a Troll Country horde, Skarsnik with Waaagh! Skarsnik in Karak Eight Peaks
-Thorgrim/White Dwarf in Karaz A Karak, Ungrim in Karak Kadrin
- Khazrak in Warherd of the One Eye, Malagor in Warherd of the Crowfather, and Morghur in Warherd of the Shadowgave
-Wood Elves are fine

*That's already a lot of new factions so unless I can figure out how beastmen had different start positions within their lord selection, I may or may not be able to also unlock some minor factions like I want to. I'll aim for faction diversity (Skaeling, Kislev, Tilea first, Empire Seccesionists so you can have a real civil war!) over more of the same.

Also I posted my startpos file here, and you can tear the mod open in pfm (super extra easy and I labeled the sections too) so feel free to use anything you want from it! It's still not perfect, but someday... someday it will be. (and integrated with my favorites like crynsos unlocker +)

Ok I know that a lot of people like this mod, and that it sucks that it's not getting updated, but I have some big things planned! Thing is, it's looking like keeping it updated constantly is a massive waste of time for now since new patches, games, etc KEEP COMING OUT UGH (blessing and curse huh?). So look to the future, when the games are more solid, I will release an entire re-envisioning of the warhammer world to be as lore accurate, have a ton of new features (even that I haven't listed here yet), fix any stupid design decisions I see, and really just to be extremely immersive into this crazy and awesome world.

Also, if you would reeealllyyy like to have this mod updated, I would be more than happy to consult anyone on the design decisions and methodology I used! It's literally just copy-paste secretary work and I can provide screenshots/help (it's actually really easy, this was literally my first mod), but I just can't keep doing it over and over and over and over again.....

Your mod add a truly unique feeling to the game, the no replenishment flips the game on it`s head in a way that I can only describe as a "hardcore" mode for total war, while the unique buildings present at the start are a great way to counterbalance what would be a pretty boring early game of spamming low tier infantry. If only the AI was coded around this mode to preserve lords.

Really sad this will never be a official gamemode, you invented a new way to play total war and nobody will ever notice it.
