Description
We at RasterOps Ventures would like to thank itdocman Engineering for their magnificent Xiphos design. Please visit their mod page to see, "Rate" and download the original design, if only in Creative mode to compare our two designs.

The RVS 14 Thanatos Mk II is a reinforced version of the Mk I. We chose not to replace the Mk I design, as we wanted to retain it as a reference point. Given the extent of the Symmetry Plane and the factory size class of 3, this ship might be considered a Frigate class. It only has a depth of 108m (54 blocks), which is ~1/5 of the current size limit...

New Thanatos designs are available. We encourage you to check them out and choose a new design the befits your needs. The Thanatos Mk III comes with the default hanger, Thanatos Mk IV has an extended hanger interior for parking SVs. The Thanatos Mk V has two additional smaller hangers.

A layer of armor was added on the top of the ship. This had the effect of lengthening the ship and increasing the width of the hangers. Despite this the Bridge is actually a little smaller, not just due to the new method of interior access. Previously, interior access to the Bridge was by port and starboard elevators that extended to the hangers. Those elevators were removed and the interior access was moved to the rear of the engineering section, reached from the main deck. Just take the rear elevator up to the sentry guns and then head up the stairwell. The port and starboard bridge exits still exist and a rear exit was added at the base of the stairwell.

Two additional turrets were added to the aft and there's room for more. A forward bridge was added but its practicality has yet to be determined. Just follow the "deck 2 forward corridor" to the front of the ship. And finally, for our more discerning customers, offline protection has been included.

All this may be yours for a pittance of 2199 credits. ;)

ohh okay thanks for the tip! I am kinda new and am really enjoying it; but some blueprints are a bust and I keep spawning incomplete ships in my survival game w/ friends its kinds frustrating lol

It's been too long since I played, so I honestly don't recall what the power consumption was. The larger engines mitigated a lot of weight and added more thrust vs more smaller engines. The ship is very responsive and you won't need the offline protection (so they can be disassembled for parts).

My designs are meant for role-playing purposes; more so than straight-out combat. They also meet certain needs like an interior hanger large enough to carry most SVs. So I personally build this deisgn in survival mode. You could build one in design mode (free) to get a feel for the ship before commiting in survival mode.

Would you recomend this for survival mode or is its power consumption higher than I think it will be?

hi, i've put some wings at the mk II model, and have changed the inner space completely. it currently have a new name, but i want to ask you, before i upload it at the workshop

I don't think it is possible to update someone else's design. It sounds like you want to keep using the design name but credit where credit is due and you deserve yours for updating this design.

At the very least you could upload your blueprint separately and include a link to your blueprint in your comment below. Your blueprint could be named Thanatos Mk II DF01. Your design should reflect that change in the ship designator (ID markings), e.g. DF01-01. The first 01 represents your personal number of unique designs (uploaded or not). The trailing 01 represents the model number and should NOT be part of the blueprint name. That allows you to continue updating the design without adding a new blueprint to the workshop every time you make a change.

Actually the Mk II model was superseded by the larger Mk III, IV and V designs so updating the Mk II is a low priority. Do you actually prefer the Mk II design over the newer models? What changes did you make?

Hi, i made a rebuild of your Thanatos. Is it a problem if i upload it here?
