Thank you for your nice comment!
It's nice to see someone appreciate the design of the engine room. (I know how this must sound, lol) But as you describe it, it was exactly how i wanted it to be (to look very powerful).
About the engines, i deliberately made the ship to feel heavy, even sluggish tbh. I never liked it when ppl. create HUGE ships that move like spacefighters (not just in Empyrion), it just doesn't feel right. to me.
I really hope the devs will someday, create a in game mechanic that prevents really heavy ships to move and feel too nimble.
About planetary landing. I know that everyone wants their CV to land on planets,i'm probably the only one how doesnt, lol.
But i'm curious about the changes you make. Please keep me up to date!
(Still trying to learn as much as possible)
Cheers!
Okay, just got this into game on 7.0; on Akua which is a 0.84g world she is grossly underpowered in the engine department. 3m/s in the z-axis, 6m/s in the y-axis and 31ms fore, 12 ms aft in the x-axis. This means she cannot even lift off with the z-axis alone. Gonna spend some time finding the engines in the BP and seeing if I can get a better balance of engines on this model without breaking it.....why? Because I really like the design. Externally she looks great, I love that both hangars are actually linked so you can share the repair bay from either side, with lots of space to dock internally without blocking the doors.
I love the crafting area, I tend to build mine along those lines too; with lots of storage to hand.
I *LOVE* the engineering room, they way the engines look like a glowing power core; they is a really genius idea....want to see if I can maintain that while upgrading the thrusters.
Really REALLY good job overall; if I can just fix the thruster issues I can see myself using this CV A LOT; especially with a little automation to add auto-deploying ramps to the hangar docks for HV access.
As to which is flagship, the size of the ship does not matter... a Flag Ship is the ship from which the fleet admiral chooses to command; this could be a trawler if the Admiral wanted it to be...it has nothing to do with size, power or anything else; but where the Admiral chooses to command from.
As to your ship design, Neal, I like it from the pictures.....just about to patch back to EXP-7 to have a look at it and customise it to my tastes if I find I REALLY like it :)
"if the pegasus was the flagship then why did the "old man" command the fleet from the galactica if u know so much then answer that."
Adama held command of the fleet (after cains death) because he was the highest ranking officer and he stayed on the Galactica because it was his ship. This doesn't change the fact that Pegasus was bigger and more modern. They even said that numerous times in the series. Have you even watched it? It was obvious, but maye they should have shown some diagram for ppl. not understanding dialog, lol.
It was a succession of events that lead to that constellation, not some Computer game setup, where the strongest ship automaticly is considered the flagship. Adama chose to stay on Galactica because it was the ship he liked and the one he knew inside out.
If you don't have something else to say about the "Europa-Battlecruiser", i consider this conversation over.
