“Superbus Via Inscientiae”—June 2020

  • Enhanced the Xen Cannon textures.
  • Reintroduced the Tripmine of Assness in the hallway.
  • This map will now appear from the Workshop subscription list in–game, and can be played from there.

“Superbus Via Inscientiae”—February 2020

  • Fixed some music not playing in the map with the recent Black Mesa update.
  • Fixed a potential critical game crash by removing the hallway tripmine. While this was not a desired choice since it impacts the intended original flow of the gameplay, it had to be done as I was unable to find fix to this bug.
  • Removed the ability to break the cabinet as it has proven to produce an error model.
  • A balance adjust has been given for the finale assassin battle by removing some of the enemies, as it was proven to be unimaginably hard.
  • Added some assassin corpses to indicate players of the incoming dangers of the finale assassin battle.

  • This map is recompiled to the newest version of Black Mesa.
  • Changes / Additions
  • Added a green sprite to the buttons in the second decon chamber control room to indicate players that the button can be pressed. In additions to this, more green sprites were added to indicate that certain buttons can be interacted with.
  • Added a grenade in the PSI decon chamber security booth.
  • Added a grenade item and an easter egg to the flooded vent.
  • Added a headcrab to the PSI chamber.
  • Added a headcrab to the second decon chamber.
  • Added a lever that breaks upon usage in the Finale Vent Area.
  • Added a new batch of supply in the room C03 located in the second part of the map, to compensate the danger.
  • Added a red sprite to the retinal scanner in the PSI chamber.
  • Added a supply to the OSI08 room crossbow, revolver and energy ammunition.
  • Added a supply to the SC’s room - fragmentation grenades, tripmines and satchels.
  • Added back the final assassin fight.
  • More supplies are now available in the PSI room and during the hallway battle to aid the players.
  • Added air bubbles in the underwater section of PSI chamber to indicate the locations of levers.
  • Changed the grunt in the OSI room with RPG to a Zombified Soldier.
  • Changed the main enemy in the PSI room from the Vortigaunt to the Alien Controllers, as how it should have been in the original map derivation.
  • Changed the name of the achievement that gives more health to the Friendlies to “The Pleasure.”
  • Changes to the mortar and announcement timer logics.
  • Players can now destory the closet in the SC’s room with the Use key.
  • Made each OSI rooms more interesting.
  • Made entering the Lair easier so players can see the Secrets Behind the Facility.
  • Made so that certain OSI rooms now start open.
  • Made the map delete more ambient sound playing in the part of the map if the player progresses to the next part.
  • Male toilet zombie is no longer “gagged.”
  • Minor changes to the Lair; added a battery and changed the Code.
  • Strengthened the softlock prevention in the first decon chamber and in the hallway “snark” room.
  • The Bullsquid decon door will no longer lock itself.
  • The turret in the trainsit station area is now FRIENDLY.
  • Reworked the second hallway battle.
  • Xen Laser Cannon is more forgivable regarding player damage.
  • Xen Laser Cannon now has a special attack where it can insta-kill the player if players gets behind the sentry. You don’t fuck around with the Cannon.
  • Xen Laser Cannon now has more health.
  • Xen Laser Cannon will no longer fire if the player is out of range/sight.
  • Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that prevents players from exploding the explosives in the submerged basement.
  • Fixed a ceiling texture in the Zombie Jumpscare room being wrong.
  • Fixed a potential softlock bug in the first decon chamber.
  • Fixed a minor bug in the PSI room where the water sound’s origin was misplaced.
  • Hopefully fixed a bug where a vent spinning noise is heard by the transit system. I fucking can’t figure out for the life of me how to fix it.
  • Removals
  • Removed certain instances of soldiers radio-ing each other: the very first Goose-4, the Echo-5 first aid kits, the Forget about Freeman. The five soldiers in the first part of the map, will therefore now spawn faster.
  • Removed the lone soldier behind the desk in the PSI chamber.
  • Removed the “Whiteboard.”
  • Removed the zombies, security guards, scientists from the transit area.
  • Removed the ending heddy sequence.
  • Removed the ending zombie in the OSI 08 room.
  • Removed the final Gloun Gun weapon location.
  • . . . And possibly several others that I have missed were added and/or fixed and/or removed.
