Update: 25 Oct, 2020 @ 12:17pm

- Removed Arena Mode due to its broken status, may return later
- Added Goose boss
- First special is the honk which makes players drop their items
- Second special causes lightning to strike in the nearby area
- Deerclops and Yuleclops have been rebalanced
- Both are slightly faster
- Both of their roar attacks have a larger radius, with Yuleclops having a smaller one
- Cooldowns for attacks have been modified for both Dragonfly and Bearger (made shorter)
- Fixed a bug where Dragonfly could get up and move around while dead if killed while in fire mode
- Lots of code cleanup, which will make for faster development in the future
- All character icons are now visible at all times intentionally to keep games moving
- Removed all balancing changes to base characters since many of them have changed since then (may be reintroduced later)
- Characters receive a cane when they spawn in, allowing them to catch up to a runaway giant
- Dragonfly can no longer fly over water for the time being

While I might despise what Klei has done with the game, DST was still my first big foray into game modding and programming in general. Also seeing how much viewership Orange's videos had with the mod, I was thinking perhaps it'd be nice to finish what I started. Stay tuned.

Update: 19 Jul, 2020 @ 10:57am

- Mod now includes the one-liner fix as pointed out by dmokracy, allowing the mod to work on current versions.

Update: 26 Mar, 2018 @ 5:51pm

- Bearger added.

Bearger has been designed to be more of a tanky boss through several design features. For starters, Bearger has 1500 HP where other bosses would only have 1000, and his HP gain per player is in 1500's too. Bearger walks around, with two abilities which allow you to stop anyone thinking to take you head on, and if they try to run, slow them down to your pace.

- Stomp ability: Says what it is on the tin. Same as regular bearger's stomp attack. Cooldown is 30 seconds, same as Deerclops.

- Yawn: The dangerous yawn, does no damage, but makes players drowsy for a short time, with more time based on how close they were to you. Players cannot be slept, but they will be in the drowsy state, thus slowed down so you can catch up to them. Cooldown is 60 seconds.

- Bearger's swipe: Like regular Bearger's attack, this does AOE damage. It can also hit an item out of your enemy's hand. They better watch out!

- Poise: Bearger does not flinch from attacks.

I might modify him a bit in the future, but I like him in his current state, and he differs from other bosses with a unique "slow but mighty" aspect to him. Next boss is Moose/Goose, and afterwards I'll be jumping around a bit. (Fuelweaver, anyone?). To finish up the patch notes:

- Fixed an issue which might cause Yuleclops to be unable to sleep.
- Fixed an issue which made Deerclops still look like Yuleclops and band-aid fixed, now it is fixed properly.
- Various other tiny fixes.

Update: 25 Mar, 2018 @ 2:40pm

- Fixed Wolfgang not being in Mighty form in Arena mode.

- Wolfgang now has a spear in Arena mode.

- WX-78 now has a Tentacle Spike in Arena mode.

Huge update. I can't really remember it all, but in terms of content overhaul it was pretty comprehensive. Here are some of the things I can remember:

- Deerclops reverted to old form, Yuleclops is now a seperate character. His roar has less range and less damage then Deerclops, but he retains his laser.

- Server resets only activate now if two people are on the server, or the one person on the server is dead.

- Arena mode! Huge part of this update, basically adds a whole new way to play Vs. Deerclops, with characters spawning in with loadouts to fight the boss with. Bosses have larger hp pools in this mode, and an arena wall is generated around the portal. Some characters are tweaked in this mode for fairer gameplay purposes.

- Willow has fire immunity when using the mod. Abigail has been significantly buffed.

- Fixed the longstanding bug of the player icons not appearing vanishing during the day. Thanks, Electroely!

- Sandstone is now only given upon joining the session for the first time. Re-joining will not yield more stones.

The gamemode's going to need some more testing, and hopefully Arena Mode will fufill what a lot of people wanted from this mod. You can switch between the two at whim using the mod's configuration menu. As of now, I feel that everything is pretty balanced in terms of power and mechanics, where being a good player on either side will affect your ability to win a match immensely. Thus, more focus will now be going into adding more bosses, who'll be coming soon.

Update: 19 Dec, 2017 @ 12:55pm

- Updated Deerclops to the new yule version.

- Deerclops can fire the eye laser using C.
- cooldown is 5 seconds.

Update: 17 Dec, 2017 @ 1:36pm

- Really fixed the issue where players would not spawn in with the portal talisman. Really!

Update: 16 Dec, 2017 @ 5:39pm

The amount of max HP you gain from mobs is now dynamic.

- The equation is (Mob's Max HP / 50)
- Players give 150 max hp.

This should be the final bout of balance for the base bosses for now, so now I think more character balances and bosses will be coming. Stay tuned!

Update: 14 Dec, 2017 @ 3:57pm

- Fixed an issue where players would not spawn with the Portal Talisman.

Update: 12 Dec, 2017 @ 4:04pm

Mixed update here, building a stabler future for mod development and some balance changes to two of the characters!

- combat_replica component no longer completely overwritten, possibly allowing for more cross-mod capability.

- Maxwell's Shadow Duelists now have 500 hp, and faster and stronger health regeneration. This should let Maxwell actually have a use for his attack puppets, instead of being one-shot by the boss.

- Woodie's Werebeaver absorption increased to .6 of all damage.
- Werebeaver now heals 5 hp on eating.
- Werebeaver now gains sanity instead of losing it.

I'll be completely honest, these two characters are both ones I'm very familiar with, and I feel these fixes improves their viability in the gamemode, and thus I feel most comfortable releasing these two first before the others. However, rest be assured, more balance is on the way for the other "unviable" characters. Expect pigs to be buffed too!

Also, I've made an official Discord server for creating games with others here: https://discord.gg/52hqTkz
I'd like to see more people playing the mod together, and I feel this is something I can do in order to improve the experience.
