UPDATE 9.1: THE BLIGHTED BOGS - Trouble in the Winds

Hey to whoever's reading this! Version 10 is taking a while to cook up (though faster than I expected) but I still wanted to put out smaller updates along the way. Update 10 itself is something I'm working on more casually as not to burn myself out due to the scope of it, but passion has been running high and I've been considering hiring some additional modders to speed it up considerably.

Major Features:

The air is smelling worse by the day! Strange winds are blowing from over the horizon.

Scratch and Squawk Evolved

The Harbingers have had a full make-over! Brand new appearances to better distinguish the two twins as well as new custom sounds for Squawk. This extends to their critter forms

Squawk had learned a new trick: Bombirdment. Watch out for his call if you don't want to end up beneath a rain of shadowy crows!

The Critter Cannon blueprint is now dropped by Squawk rather than being prototyped at the Shadow Manipulator.

Scratch now drops the 'Scratch 'n' Squawk Figure Sketch", allowing the player to create figures of the duo to decorate their bases

Increased time Scratch and Squawk remain down after knocking into things by .25 seconds

Scratch and Squawk will now be knocked over if they collide with any structure, even if the structure is not destructible

The Plague and Death

I tried to mitigate the strategy of simply dying to cure the plague, but respawning at the full 75% cap was ineffective at later days and utterly crippling in early days.

Dying with the plague no longer removes it. It will pause, however, and resume once you have resurrected.

Increased the duration of the plague by 20%

The plague now deals more immediate damage but does not go quite as high as before


Wade The Janitor

Wade has seen a significant buff! When his sanity downside was first made items drained the same sanity regardless of stack size. This was changed so larger stacks drained more sanity, but the value itself wasn't changed. This meant he went insane VERY quickly.

Wade's sanity drain from nearby items has been halved

Wade's soap was brought back up to 10 uses from 5

Wade's soap now gives sanity to the player it's used on if they're successfully cleaned

Wade can now craft The Broom! The Broom can be used to quickly clean allies as well as globules without a hit to Wade's sanity. In a pinch it can also be used in combat:
27.2 damage
20 uses (50 if used as a weapon)
A chance to interrupt enemy attacks when hitting them as Wade

Wade's ear was brought back a bit on his side sprite to better fit the wideness of his head

Wade is squeakier

Minor Features

Since his release the Good Doctor has been almost TOO good with medicine being very easily obtained from him. A little nerf here was needed.

The Good Doctor now requires a variety of ingredients before he runs to his lab. No more green cap spam, sorry!

Critter Cannon shakes the screen a bit

Critter Cannon is now found in the Fight Tab instead of the Magic Tab due to no longer being prototyped

Rot Root can now only be made 1 at a time to prevent easy duplication

Inventory items now share one atlas. Normal players will not notice this at all. Hehe

Bug Fixes

The overlay on players' faces when extremely sick now properly orientates

Scratch and Squawk have inherited this fix
