Reduced yield from Rot Root recipe to prevent duplication of the "cure"

Added a temporary measure for compatibility with Uncompromising. When plagued sleeping in tents will no longer reduce health penalties. There may be some minor UI issues with this but a better fix would have to be done in UM itself. Hopefully coming soon. Maybe.

Fixed the Critter Cannon not playing sound when the projectile detonates in cave servers. Little woopsie I did while figuring out the previous bug.

UPDATE 9: THE BLIGHTED BOGS

Major Features:

The Blight Bog
A new biome full of mystery and scientific curiosity! Mainly the abundance of Totally Healthy Trees as well as some nifty new setpieces, and a new pig town to barter with.

The Good Doctor
A new NPC who lives in the Blight Bogs. The Good Doctor can be traded with during the day with mushrooms, rot, extracts, and the likes in return for a medicinal potion. Effects of the potions are largely random so do be careful.
He does something else but that's a secret for players to discover

Players with existing worlds should be able to find him setting up shot by Pig King

The Critter Cannon
A ranged weapon that fires critters loaded into it as powerful bombs that deal moderate direct damage and leaves behind a pool of goop that slows and deals hefty damage-over-time to any foe caught in it.


Minor Features

Wade's soap can now only be used by him and its uses have been halved. It was too easy to simply give the whole party a bar as a get-out-of-jail-free card to use whenever they felt slightly at risk. Consequences matter!

For clarification: Wade can still clean others as well as himself

Added some hot new setpieces scattered around the world for players to discover

Scratch and Squawk's AI has been improved so they don't try to run indefinitely if they see something shiny that they can't path to

Creatures spawning plagued now becomes more common as days go on

Blighted creatures are now double as infectious to be around

Dirty creatures no longer have the "Dirty" prefix. A Pathogenometer will be needed to discern if something needs scrubbin' just like players

Pathogenometer will now register dirty entities with a very feint signal, sickly creatures offer a reduced signal while blighted give off the same

Player characters now have special lines for sickly and blighted creatures

Plague clouds are now considered flying mobs


Bug fixes:

Fixed Scratch's rot aura being 10x as potent as it was meant to be

UPDATE 8: SQUEAKY CLEAN

Major features:

WADE THE CLEANER HAS ENTERED THE CONSTANT

Wade cannot catch the plague from the air(proximity to plagued creatures, plague clouds, etc) or being splashed(picking globules, having extracts thrown at him) thanks to his suit, however his weak immunity means bites from BLIGHTED creatures and eating raw meat can instantly infect him. Stale food will also give greatly reduced health benefits, while spoiled food will cost 6 health
Wade can also craft soap on a rope to clean dirty players and animals to stop the plague from taking hold.
Other players may use the soap, but Wade will gain a large chunk of sanity on cleaning dirty players.

TOTALLY HEALTHY TREES
Totally Healthy Trees now appear around the map! They hunger for plague, and will forcefully lick anything sick or dirty. Dirty creatures are cleaned by its tongue. Should the tree eat enough, it'll throw up a free sample of plague extracts!

Chopping the tree down will give Rot Root. This is a new crafting component of the Blight Catcher, but more uses will come soon!

To those with existing worlds, you can convert Totally Normal Trees into Totally Healthy Trees, or directly turn living logs into Rot Root via the refining tab

DIRTINESS:
Now when something becomes plagued, there will be a grace period where they are "dirty". Dirty things can be cleaned either by Wade's soap or Totally Normal trees.


DISEASE RELOADED:
Klei removed disease, I brought it back. Hehe.


HOUSECLEANING:
Entire infrastructure redone! That means all the code behind the plague has been remade, and everything has been sorted to improve performance and make adding new content much easier. This may seem unimpactful for players, but it's a big deal behind the scenes.

Minor features:

WX's immunity can now be disabled in the config menu

Players now cough when they're near-death

Dying with the plague will result in them reviving with 75% of their health capped regardless of progression. This is to disincentivize cleansing-by-suicide

Health cap per tick has been reduced to encourage toughing it out.

Scratch and Squawk health increased to 4000(from 3000)

Scratch and Squawk can knock down structures far easier

Butterflies are now immune. They were annoying early-game but became easy extract farms late-game. Totally Normal Trees in particular became extract-factories with little effort. Plus they're plants lore-wise, so thematically it made little sense.

Bloodletting no longer results in subsequent ticks taking extra health.

Plague globules stress out crops (Reap What You Sow)

The Elite Pigmen are now immune


Bug Fixes:

Fixed Scratch and Squawk warning sounds not playing on cave servers

Fixed plague globules not despawning if too far away from a player when they expire
