- Big rework to Ballistic Shields. You should no longer use Lago's Shield Rework with Mod Jam going forward, as some of its changes have been rolled into Mod Jam and the rest aren't needed.

  • Shields still grant Dodge and Armor instead of Ablative, and the values are the same as they were before. This is done through a new "Ballistic Shield Durability" ability, of which there are 3 (1 per tier).

  • Shields no longer grant the "low cover anywhere" effect, as this seems to have been making enemies less likely to want to target the user compared to other flanked units, even with Taunt active. The user can benefit from actual cover still. This SHOULD make Hoplites and shield-build Stormriders as reliable as Templars in terms of drawing fire.

  • Shield Wall now reduces Defense by 30 and increases Dodge by 20. Its name is not changed. These values might be tweaked later.

  • Shields no longer come with Taunt, as the removal of having cover anywhere and Shield Wall reducing Defense fills this niche.

  • Shields now get +1 damage at MG tier and +2 at BM tier.

  • Spark Shields now deal 1 more damage compared to an equivalent Soldier Shield.

- The Advanced Assault Trooper, Elite Assault Trooper and Assault Trooper Captain now have "Assault Shot" instead of Close Encounters. It is essentially the same ability, but active instead of passive. A standard shot that's a free action that can be used once per turn, but only within 4 tiles of the target.

- More AI changes related to Assault Troopers. They ALWAYS prioritize Assault Shot, and they also prioritize Standard Shots over Overwatching.

- Replaced Bio Barrier Trooper's "Shield Deflect" Localization with something more suitable to making its mechanics transparent to the player.

- Made Shield Deflect unable to function while the user is disoriented, burning, or bound by a Viper or Void Conduit. (Basically the same restrictions the Guard ability used by Hoplites and Stormriders has.)

These changes will also affect the Bio Shield that XCOM can get.

- Spectral Frost Reanimation's cooldown is increased by 2 for all tiers (this includes the playable version of the Frost Necromancer if you have Playable Aliens).
