Not compatible with previous saves

  • New feature added: Sparring!
    • May be done between two Magical Girls you own.
    • Removes both girls from the map for 3 turns.
    • After returning, they both receive 10 XP.
    • May not be done again for 10 turns after they return.
    • Requires both MGs to be adjacent to a city you own, and only one pair of MGs can spar in a City at a time.
  • New feature added: Write Home and Phone Home!
    • Helps alleviate the penalties of Homesickness without actually visiting home.
    • Requires the construction of two new National Wonders: The Central Post Office (at Mathematics) and the Telephone Infrastructure (at Radio).
    • Write Home removes the Magical Girl from the map for 3 turns. Phone Home merely consumes all movement for the turn.
    • Must be done in friendly territory, though you may Phone Home from anywhere in the world once you discover The Internet.
    • Halves the penalty of Homesickness (but does not cure it -- you have to actually visit home for that!)
    • Central Post Office and Telephone Infrastructure also provide Production and Gold to non-Capital Cities with a connection to the capital.
  • Fix for some CTDs when Kyouko or Nagisa were in the game.
  • Nagisa's Magical Dairy should properly grant Gold from both incoming and outgoing trade routes based on Cattle/Sheep. Also updated its description to be more clear.
  • Homura's leader flavors adjusted to be less warlike and more focused on science.
  • Fix for bug which caused Washington's leader icon to appear in city screens.
  • Commander Prodigy Rouse Militia action should be useable by the AI again.
  • Fixed some erroneous text.

(Hopefully) Compatible with previous saves.

  • Fixes for several critical bugs, such as:
    • Game crash upon a Leader Magical Girl hitting 0% Soul Gem
    • Bizarre issues when a MG's loyalty hit 0
    • Vacation bonus never decaying (and thus making it impossible to take another)
  • Civilization and Religion Likes/Dislikes are now easier to fulfill. A more thorough pass on the requirements will be done in the next update.
  • Fixed MG Loyalty tooltip in the Magical Girl Information Panel.
  • Leader unique dialog biases increased to 100, which should mean that they will be more likely to use their unique dialog responses than the default ones.

Introducing: Vacations, Entertainment, and Loyalty!

  • Magical Girls may now take Vacations to improve their Mood.
  • Vacations improve the girl's Mood by 10 for every point of Entertainment in the Empire in which they vacation.
  • Entertainment is earned by constructing certain buildings and with the new Entertainer Specialist.
  • Entertainer Specialists provide +3 Entertainment and +1 Tourism, and are affected by effects which modify Specialist yields, such as Statue of Liberty and Secularism.
  • Three new Wonders added for Entertainment.
  • When a Magical Girl goes on Vacation, she decides where to go on vacation based on various factors, such as influence via tourism, trade routes between empires, and existence of open borders treaties.
  • Loyalty is a new mechanic which will cause Magical Girls to disown their current country and defect to a new one.
  • Loyalty increases if your Tourism and Entertainment are high, you keep her happy, and you fulfill her Likes and Dislikes.
  • Loyalty can decrease due to poor Mood, and other Civilizations' influence over her from Tourism and from high Entertainment if she took a Vacation there.
  • Leader Magical Girls never lose Loyalty, and cannot go on Vacations (and, consequently, never get a penalty from not having gone on one for a while).

Demon Homura changes:

  • Magical Girls who defect to Demon Homura are subjugated, voluntarily deciding that they would prefer a idyllic illusion of happiness over the horrors of living in the real world as a Magical Girl.
  • Magical Girls who are tricked by Demon Homura's mindgames into Vacationing in her realm will lose a random Promotion when they return, and will count as half of a subjugation. (Half subjugations provide no benefit; you must have 2 Vacations before the Palace gets a yield bonus.)
  • Subjugations now provide +1 Tourism in the Palace.
  • Global Mood modifiers now provide +1 Golden Age point per turn for every 10 Mood (previous effect removed).
  • Clara Doll buff bonus vs. Magical Girls reduced to 33% (was 75%).
  • Magical Girl attrition in Demon Homura territory reduced to 5 (was 10).

Other changes:
  • Fixed critical crash error when discovering El Dorado.
  • Fix for various other crashes.
  • AIs should now be somewhat better at managing their MGs' moods.
  • AIs now get a mood bonus based on difficulty level. (+25 per level, starting at Chieftain)
  • Support for several new mods, including Civ IV Traits, Piety and Prestige, and Cultural Diversity.
  • Magical Girls of Japan (and mod civs with the FightWellDamaged trait) do not suffer the "Injured" Mood penalty (and cannot use Dull Pain).

Major update! NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PREVIOUS SAVES!

  • New feature added: Magical Girl Moods!
    • Moods represent your Magical Girls' mental states.
    • Many modifiers will combine to determine their overall Mood.
    • Being in a good Mood will confer Combat Strength bonuses and reductions to Soul Gem corruption -- but bad Moods do the opposite!
    • In addition to general modifiers which affect all Magical Girls, each MG will, starting at turn 50, begin developing Likes and Dislikes particular to them. Fulfill these to make your girls truly happy!
  • Magical Girl Customization:
    • Five new hairs added, courtesy of emeralis00!
    • Face and hair accessory layer added, courtesy of emeralis00!
    • Magical Girls will change facial expressions depending on Mood. (Each two Mood levels change the facial expression.)
  • Civ changes:
    • Madoka Kaname: Trait is now "Start with Archery technology. All Magical Girls gain +100 Mood, and the effect of the Fought Near Leader Mood modifier is doubled."
    • Kyouko: +2 Mood from every Population point (in addition to existing trait)
    • Demon Homura: Global Mood modifiers increase the amount of yields gained from Subjugation (since she cannot normally use Moods)
    • Shirome: Farsight Oracle faith up from 1 to 2, culture gain from Radio tech up from 1 to 2
    • Pleiades: Artificial Incubators gain strength increases over eras, but now deal no damage on counterattacks
    • Ult. Madoka: (Decisions) Knight of Madoka Decision now turns the Knighted girl into a Leader Magical Girl instead of its previous effect.
  • New buildings:
    • Yuriji: Must be unlocked with the new Yurijis Follower belief. +10 Mood, +10% Prodigy Generation, +2 Faith. Thanks to DarkScythe for the icon!
    • Mitakihara Middle School: World Wonder unlocked at Scientific Theory. +150 Mood, free Public School.
  • Policy updates:
    • Each Policy tree has a global Mood modifier obtained from its finisher.
    • New Mood-affecting Policies added to level 2 of each Ideology.
  • New Founder Belief: Youth Camps. +4 Mood for every City following the Religion
  • New Witch Type: ...wait, those aren't Witches. What are they trying to do...?
  • Magical Girls slightly stronger (mostly at later Eras). Witches a fair bit stronger.
  • Killing a Witch (not just attacking it) now grants an XP bonus, even if the unit has reached the experience cap from killing Barbarians.
  • Demon Homura has a new icon and leader scene.
  • Further increased compatibility with Community Balance Patch.
  • Each PMMM Civ has been given some new city names.
  • Fixed bug which would cause mod to break if Wonders of the Ancient World DLC was not installed

  • Rewrote the method of data storage. This should fix several issues.
  • Soul Gem Critical notification should work properly.
  • Magical Girls should no longer get free promotions when returning from Witch Hunt or when respawning.
  • Sea Witches should spawn properly.
  • Witch Barriers are now called Witch's Labyrinths.
  • If a Familiar pillages an Improvement, it will now automatically become a Witch.
  • If a civilian unit starts its turn in a Labyrinth, it will become a new Witch.
  • The yields for Demon Homura's Palace should now display properly.
  • The yields for Mami's Teahouse should now display properly.
  • Fixed Demon Homura's Punish Incubators decision.
  • Homura's time stop should work more reliably now.
  • Added two random Events, when Sukritact's Events and Decisions is active.
