Update:

No longer compatible with previous saves -- this is a big update!

Too much to fit here -- go here[pastebin.com] for the full notes!

  • New feature added: Leader Magical Girls!
    • Leader Magical Girls represent either the leader of your Civilization, or an important female figure from it.
    • You receive your Leader Magical Girl when you found your Capital.
    • Leaders are stronger and earn XP faster than regular Magical Girls.
    • If your Leader dies, or would become a Witch, she will instead be removed from the map and will respawn after 10 turns (at Standard speed).
    • City-States also receive Leaders. You may have a harder time stealing Workers!
    • Demon Homura and Ultimate Madoka do not receive Leaders. They will get a free Archer at the beginning of the game as compensation.
  • Changes to Generals and Admirals:
    • Commander Prodigies (aka Great Generals) have a new action: Rouse Militia. This immediately spawns a number of melee or gunpowder units with no experience. The number generated is determined by your military might compared with that of the rest of the world. AIs will also use this ability.
    • Navigator Prodigies (aka Great Admirals) may now build Naval Outposts. Put simply, they are Citadels in the water. Unlike Citadels, they can be built no matter how far they are from your territory! Use them to your advantage.
    • Commander or Navigator Prodigies (or any UU replacements) no longer grant bonuses to nearby units, unless they have special exceptions to the Magical Girl system (e.g. Clara Dolls). When you expend a Commander or Navigator prodigy, the resulting Magical Girl will get the appropriate promotion to grant bonuses to land or sea units. This is to eliminate the bizarre situation in which a Magical Girl candidate is more useful before she makes her contract! That's bad for the universe.
    • Lightning Warfare and Navigation School policies will now provide +1 Movement to Magical Girls created from Commanders and Navigators, respectively.
  • Character Updates:
    • Homura: Time Stop is now a special ability your Leader can activate, rather than being activated with the button near the top of the screen. The cooldown has been reduced to 30 turns, but it now costs 40% of your Leader's Soul Gem. Your Leader recovers 50% faster from being killed or falling to 0% Soul Gem.
    • Nagisa: Chance of Cattle and Sheep spreading slightly lowered, and the maximum radius of the spread is reduced to 3 tiles from the city instead of 5.
    • Kyouko: Bugfixes with trait.
    • Oriko and Kirika: No longer receive an extra Spy. Receive 2 Leaders instead of just 1. Only your first Leader can use Danger Divination now. The second leader receives the Time Dilation promotion (the one used by Magiclaws).
    • Kaoru and Umika: Artificial Incubator strength up to 5.
  • Sukritact's Events and Decisions:
    • Madoka Kaname: Mitakiharafest: Resource requirements increased.
    • Madoka Kaname: Commission Mi-ta-kun: Now requires 1 Magistrate. The expended Artist Prodigy becomes a Magical Girl.
    • Homura Akemi: Devote to Madoka: Diplomatic Penalty is now one-sided towards Homura. AI Homura's opinion of others will not be lowered. Madoka Memorial no longer makes a wonder splash.
    • Mami Tomoe: Rewrote how cities are renamed from the language decisions.
    • Mami Tomoe: Simplified the effects of the language decisions.
    • Mami Tomoe: Mammie Doctrine: Better flavor text in the diplomacy window.
    • Sayaka Miki: Ally of Justice: Bonus to units now includes a +15% attack bonus.
    • Kyouko Sakura: Develop Rocky: Now requires the East India Company to be built, and the Rocky Bakery is put in the city containing it. Rocky Bakery no longer makes a wonder splash.
    • Nagisa Momoe: Enforce Mandatory Extended Recess: Reduced to +1 Happiness per Public School.
    • Demon Homura: Punish the Incubators: Now has a minimum 15 turn period before new Incubator Slaves can be built.
    • Shirome: Sharpen Up Recruits: No longer capable of sacrificing civilian units. Increased gold cost.

Update: 17 Nov, 2014 @ 10:08pm

Update:

This mod's not dead! I just had a lot of distractions. Not to mention this update required the dreaded art.

  • Magical Girls, rather than using a static icon, now have selectable appearances in their 2D icons! Body, hair, face, and outfit can be changed. Currently, only 1 each of body type, hair type, face type, and outfit type exist, but they all have several different colors. More will be added once this mod is out of beta, but there are still 12,288 combinations to play around with now!
  • New option added to WishForTheWorldOptions.sql: Cultural MG Skin Tones. This option is on by default. When turned on, the randomly generated Magical Girl portraits will always have a skin color which coincides with the Civilization in which they were born. If this option is turned off, all Magical Girls will have randomly determined skin colors.
  • Right-click on a Magical Girl's portrait in the Unit Panel to edit it.
  • You can now edit a Magical Girl's name by right-clicking on her name in the Unit Panel.
  • You will now be notified if a Magical Girl you own is in Critical Soul Gem condition.
  • Fixed bug with the combat preview with enemy Magical Girls misreporting their Soul Gem information.

Update: 1 Sep, 2014 @ 9:38pm

Update:

  • Fixed some issues with Decisions.
  • Oriko and Kirika's diplomacy screen deleted.
  • Warning added to the UA names of Shirome and Pleiades that they are not currently suitable as AI opponents.
  • Fixed an issue in which Citizens killed by Hidden Witches could still work tiles.
  • Fixed issue in which Clara Dolls had the icon of the Illusion Realm from the Rebellion Civilization Pack.

Update: 27 Aug, 2014 @ 2:09am

Update:

  • Includes support for Sukitract's Decisions.
  • YNAEMP support is included by default.
  • Fixed major issues with the Witch Hunt mission.
  • Magical Girls will now jump to the nearest valid plot when returning from Witch Hunt if the plot they returned to now has a unit on it owned by another player.
  • Demon Homura no longer receives Grief Seeds. Upon killing a Witch, she gains 50 points towards a Golden Age.

Update: 18 Aug, 2014 @ 1:40pm

Update:

This update is not compatible with previous saves.
We're out of the alpha stage and into the beta stage!

  • Now requires v.60 of DLL - Various Mod Components.
  • Fixed issue with Ultimate Madoka being unable to dismiss her summoned Witches.
  • Fixed issues when Ultimate Madoka's Witches were killed.
  • Ultimate Madoka's Witches will not earn XP anymore.
  • Added proper text to the Dismiss Witch command.
  • Regular Witch Barriers no longer despawn.
  • Shirome's trait has been adjusted. It is now: ''Receive 1 extra Spy. Magical Girls may use Danger Divination, which costs 20% of their Soul Gem and notifies you of the locations of all Hidden Witch Barriers in revealed territory.''
  • Shirome has been set to only be selectable by human players because I got far too sick of looking at that diplomacy screen.
  • New Civilization added: The Pleiades Saints, led by the duo of Kaoru Maki and Umika Misaki. (Kazumi herself will make an appearance -- of sorts -- in the Civ in a later update.) This Civilization is currently only selectable by humans until decent diplomacy screen art can be procured or produced.
    • UA: The Freezer: Begin with an Artificial Incubator. Magical Girls you defeat are stored in a building in your Capital. You may attempt to revive them at any time. The chances of a successful revival increase with your Technology level.
    • UU: Artificial Incubator: Replaces Scout. May not attack, has only half of the Scout's combat strength rounded down, and costs more to build. However, it has a unique action, Polish, which targets a Magical Girl you own. Polish adds 3% Polish to the Magical Girl's Soul Gem. If a Magical Girl is hurt, half of the Soul Gem corruption she would receive from healing is instead dealt to the Polish amount she has. The maximum amount of Polish is 30%. Only 3 Artificial Incubators may be owned at a time.
    • UB: Angelica Bears: Replaces Zoo. In addition to the benefits of a Zoo, this provides 1 copy of Teddy Bears, a unique Luxury Resource. In a future update, when the Entertainment yield is implemented, it gain additional functionality.
  • Some Lua error spam fixed.
  • Upon capturing a City, the internal data keeping track of Hidden Witch Barriers will properly be updated if that City had a HWB.
  • HWBs will now only spawn in the territory of the owner of the City which it is attacking, or in neutral territory.
  • The diplomatic penalty for uncovering HWBs attacking other Civilizations' Cities will now apply based on the owner of the City it was attacking, rather than the owner of the plot the HWB was on.
  • You will no longer receive notifications of HWBs spawning near City-States you have not met.
  • Added a new file in the root of the mod's folder named WishForTheWorldOptions.sql. This will allow you to change various behaviors in the mod. So far, there are two options:
    • Feminize Prodigy Names: Adjusts a large number of the Great Person names to sound more feminine. Has no effect on any names added by other mods.
    • Enable All Civilizations: Enables all of the Civilizations in this mod for both human and AI players, even if there are unfinished portions of them. (Currently applies to Shirome and Pleiades, as they lack AI functionality for their traits and lack diplomacy screens.)
  • WFTWGameDefines.xml is now located in the root of the mod folder so it may be more easily found.
  • The Civilopedia now contains some information on the new mechanics used in this mod.

Update: 7 Aug, 2014 @ 11:15pm

Update:

This update is not compatible with previous saves. It is recommended to delete your cache before starting a new game as well.

  • A new mechanic has been added: Hidden Witch Barriers.
    • Hidden Witch Barriers (or HWBs) begin to spawn in the Renaissance Era, if the existing number of Witch Barriers compared to the size of the map is low. It will check this number every 10 turns. This occurrence is called the Witch Evolution Event.
    • Once the Witch Evolution Event occurs, there is a 25% chance every 10 turns for a HWB to spawn within 5 tiles of one of your Cities. The number of HWBs which can be in your Empire at once is based on how many Cities you have.
    • Each turn the HWB remains hidden, the City to which the HWB is attached will lose Food equal to 10% of the amount needed to reach the next Population point. This can kill Citizens!
    • In order to draw out the Witch, you must use a Magical Girl (or a few -- getting multiple girls on the job will help you find it much faster!). Magical Girls will gain a new Unit Panel action called ''Witch Hunt'' after the Witch Evolution Event.
    • The HWB is located on a specific tile within a 5 tile radius of the City, but you will not be informed of its exact location.
    • When you Witch Hunt, the Magical Girl disappears for a turn. She then reappears with results. If you are within 1 tile of the HWB location, she will draw out the Witch and its Familiars for you to kill. This does not create a Witch Barrier improvement, so as to prevent the removal of important Improvements such as Prodigy Improvements or Antiquity Sites. If you are within 2 tiles of the HWB location, the Magical Girl will receive a strong response through her Soul Gem, notifying you that are close. If you are further than 2 tiles away, you will receive a weak response and will have to search further.
    • You may Witch Hunt in enemy Civilizations' territories, but you will receive a diplomatic penalty for doing so.
    • City-States may also be plagued by HWBs, and uncovering them will grant a minor (10) Influence boost.
    • The AI has been trained to use this system.
    • The ''No Witches'' option is now ''Always Hidden Witches'', which removes Witch Barriers from the map, but allows for HWBs to spawn from the beginning.
    • HWBs do not spawn in Ultimate Madoka or Demon Homura's territory.
  • Fixed issues with clickable missions which have selectable targets (UMadoka Trait, Tiro Musketeer)
  • Added note in the Top Panel Grief Seed tooltip explaining how to use a Grief Seed on a Magical Girl.
  • Broken Psyche (the penalty to the Magical Girl for having her Witch killed as Ultimate Madoka) has had its Combat Strength penalty increased to 50%.
  • Pushed many Lua constants into the Defines XML table, in a file called WFTWGameDefines.xml in the XML folder. From here, you may easily edit certain values, such as the amount which Grief Seeds recover.
  • Added modular support for Missions which remove Magical Girls from the map temporarily. For an example of how to add these missions to your own mod which references this one, please open the file Lua\Gameplay\MagicalGirls\PMMMReturnMapFunctions.lua. More modular support will come in later updates.

Update: 5 Aug, 2014 @ 12:19pm

Update:

No seriously, I actually tested this one for more than 5 minutes.

  • Fixed issue which would cause Lua scripts to not properly load when Kyouko was present in the game.
  • Fixed issue in which Nagisa's trait was not working.
  • Fixed issue in which Ultimate Madoka's trait was not working.
  • The probability of Cattle and Sheep spreading during Nagisa's Golden Ages has been increased.
