Version 4.6

-Significantly improved melee sounds by making "impacts" louder. Also promoted melee, impact and collision sounds so that they are "larger" (have a higher priority) and less likely to get dropped or cut out when more than 500 sounds are being buffered.
-Various small adjustment to sound levels.

-Corrected a typo (from the previous update) in the attenuation level of the (unit) group sounds, which caused melee sounds to be too quiet.

Version 4.5 (revised)

(After 45 versions, finally made a breakthrough trying to unravel the mess that is the melee sounds. It took a LOT of work to get here.)

-Made significant adjustments to melee group sound behavior, to address most of the "silent melee" problems. Melee sound may still drop out from time to time, and there is probably only so much of this that can be addressed, but overall sound behavior should be much improved over the standard game now.
-Re-introduced back some melee vocals for select units where it makes sense.
-Many fine adjustments to volume of Foley and vocals.

Version 4.4

-Significantly improved melee sounds by locating what seems to have been the problem all along. Several melee impact sounds had been given such a low probability (of playing) that it caused there to be silence. The assumption here is that the melee sounds combined with the blasting vocals were too overwhelming so CA (poorly) chose to restrict the melee sounds.
-Now melee impacts against armor, shields and weapons are heard all the time, rather than rarely.

-Corrected the sound level of the juggernaut beasts, they were made to be too loud in 4.2. Now only some vocals are louder (like their roar and breathing).

Version 4.3

-Increased the volume of the Golden Globe spell.
-Increased the magic bombardment sounds back (because louder was better) from previous change, but then selectively lowered some, rather than all.
-Added reverb effects to the Doom of Hashut magic bombardment that didn't have it for some reason (almost all others do).
-Improved the sound levels of several more vocals.
-Minor adjustments to "spotlight" behavior radius.

Version 4.2

-Improved various vocal loudness levels, primarily made some large monsters louder, and some of the largest entities a bit quieter.
-Improved the volume of magic "bombardments" so that they are not as loud as they were before.
-Significantly improved melee sounds, selectively boosting in volume some of the most commonly used and quietest sounds. Some had to be increased above and beyond the sound profile levels that were normal for those types of sounds, probably because the source sound sample is too quiet.

Taking a little more time to carefully update now (the sledge hammer has been put away, now scalpel)...

-Many small changes and adjustments to sound volume levels.
-Improved the volume of several magic sounds, by adding new sound profiles just for magic.
-Further improved the volume of melee sounds.
-Fine tune adjustments to the melee sound profiles (most common melee sounds should now be more easily heard).
-Many other small tweaks to the sound settings XML script/code. This change has helped make the overall "focus" (units in view) sound a bit quieter in battle, allowing you to turn up the volume louder!
