Update: 1 Dec, 2024 @ 10:53pm

Version is 1.3.0

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Decreased the leadership bonus via attributes for mounts for 1.0x to 0.5x due to the fact vanilla mounts have so much health.

Vanilla leadership bonus is still 0.0x, so while this is a balance adjustment with this mod, you are still gaining a good chunk of benefits.

Additions
  • Added a radial option to set mounts to their original "run away" mentality if you so choose

Update: 10 May, 2024 @ 12:36pm

Version is 1.2.2

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Correctly renamed the Horse bareback saddle as a recipe. It was already renamed as an item, but I forgot to rename the recipe

  • Removed the redundent prior other bareback saddles that used to be in the mod from the recipes/feats.

  • Moved the Horse Bareback Saddles into the Expert Saddle-maker feat.

  • Decreased the weight of some of the saddles.

Additions
  • Added Camel Saddle Heavy (No Bags), Horse Bareback Saddle (Invisible), Camel Bareback Saddle, Camel Bareback Saddle (Invisible).

All are dyeable with Fashionist (other then invisible of course)

Update: 15 Dec, 2023 @ 4:52pm

Version is 1.2.12

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Increased top speed of the Obsidian Cavalry Saddle to make it more worthwhile finding

  • Fixed one of the loot tables for the Obsidian Saddle

  • Provided a temporary fix for the Camel calf not being able to be placed into the Stable (and thus raising an adult Camel).

  • Added dung as recipes for an Adult Camel mount in the Stable

  • Made it so that Camel mounts will properly fight (mod is called Mount Combat Restored after all). Camel attack have also increased from 3 damage to 43 damage (same as the horse). The Mount Camel also does not have the "Scared" animation, and will only attempt to bite the enemy (assuming the player tell their Camel to fight).

Note: The Pet Camel will still use the "Scared" animation, but will have the increase in damage.

  • Recompiled for the latest version of Conan Exiles

Update: 30 Sep, 2023 @ 12:36am

Version is 1.2.1

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Fixed an issue where the Obsidian Cavalry Saddle and the Warhorse Bareback Saddle would cause stamina drain just by walking around on the horse.

Back end for those who like that sort of thing, very odd bug. It had to do with sprint speed set on the SaddleTable. If its exactly 1350 on the saddle, then it causes the bug. 1349, 1351, anything other then exactly 1350 and everything works fine. A possibility is that its some weird float value doing calculations and then things don't work right if the right conditions are met. And I just happened to find that magic number I guess. But I don't really know the real reason, all I know is I can get around it. So instead of the saddles being 1350 sprint speed, they are now 1351. Yay?

  • Fixed the loot tables for the Obsidian Saddle

  • Bareback Saddles now all have the same recipe cost

Update: 21 Sep, 2023 @ 7:54am

Version is 1.2.0

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Fixed a rare issue that could occur with the vanilla Illusion system and other mods if those other mods set up their weapons to do weird transmoggy stuff.

  • Removed the temporary fix for the Rhino gore attack as Funcom has fixed it in Chapter 2

  • Updated the saddles found in this mod to work with Fashionist's Dye system.

  • Reduced the armor and endurance resistence on the Reins. Slightly reduced the top sprint speed as well.

This is likely the first among future balance updates to the Reins as needed. I want them to be viable for use, but not the default option due to their travel speeds. There should be a cost associated with the bonus in speed. They should provide very little protection and be liable to fall off those horse in combat because of it. And that is what this update is attempting to do.

  • Scout, Cavalry, and Warhorse Reins now have an actual visible Rein on the saddle. Actual rope is what real life bareback riders typically use. I may change it up over time depending on feedback (to my limited ability). They are also dyeable with Fashionist's Dye System. Lastely, they have been renamed to "Bareback Saddle" to help players more easily identify what it does.

Update: 8 Jul, 2023 @ 10:57pm

Version is 1.1.0

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • Small changes to the stats for the Obsidian Cavalry Saddle

  • Increased RNG chance at the Obsidian Cavalry Saddle from the Degenearate.

Additions
  • Three invisible Saddles, labeled as "Reins" have been added to the mod:

    * Scout Reins
    * Cavalry Reins
    * Warhorse Reins

These Reins will allow the user to ride their Horse bareback. They also give bonuses to sprint speed, endurance cost while sprinting, and endurance regeneration. They however offer far less protection then their Saddle counterparts, offering much less armor and take much more endurance damage when falling or being hit by an enemy.

  • Katana's, Short Swords, Dual Axes, Dual Swords, and 2 Handed Swords can now be used in combat while mounted. The Katana and 2 Handed Sword can be used on a Rhino mount as well.

Why not other weapons, such as Hammers? To very briefly summarize, modding mounted combat for weapons is very not mod friendly. You are only able to do some very basic things via some round about ways. What we are able to achieve is a borderline miracle as it is. And it just didn't look or act the way I wanted to when using Hammers or 2 Handed Axes. Other weapons like Daggers just didn't make sense to make useable while mounted.

Lastly, the Katana and the 2 Handed Sword will look a little odd when not swinging the weapon while on a Rhino mount. This is because there is no weapon holding animation outside of the 2 Handed Spear when using a Rhino mount. And as far as using the 2 Handed Spear animations instead of the Sword animations used on a horse, the short version on that is that 2 Handed Spears are especially not useable for mods outside of being an actual 2 Handed Spear. This is one of those it is what it is scenarios. There really isn't anything else I can do about it.

Update: 5 Jul, 2023 @ 10:16am

Version is 1.0.13

Bug Fixes, Changes, and Adjustments
  • A fix has been applied to solve the issue with Mounts breaking their combat. This is a temporary fix until a formal solution from Funcom is presented in one of their future patches.

In other words, mounts should always engage in combat should you tell them to. This should also work with other mods that add mounts and/or make their mounts engage in combat.

All credit goes to Xevyr for coming up with the solution.
