Fixed some discription issues.

I hope the 2.0 is now fully stable and functional! Deep apologies for the rough state it launched in. I promise I didn't try to Cosplay a triple A launch. In the future further updates will be tested even more before going live.

*DS8 Support Turret Rework!

*Increased Health from 10 to 14
*Now has A lesser version of the Tidewall shieldline that reduces ranged damage reduction
*Shares cooldown with Gundrones
*Fire warriors needs to have not moved for this turret to be placed
*Now gains armor from the vechicle upgrade rather than infantry
*The icons are now the same color white (And team color) Instead of a tint darker.

Modder note: The turret was rather overpowered in combination with the Gundrone so they now share a cooldown. and increased it's durability as well as made it conditional to the summoner not having moved to hopefully give it more a role where it serves as a makeshift position reinforcer.

The massive content update I’ve been promising is here at long last! This update brings new units, new research options, and a slew of balance changes. Get ready to discover to play the Tau you’ve been getting to know and love!

New units

Crisis Bodyguards

This new Crisis Suit will protect Tau heroes and bring a new type of firepower to the battlefield

Modder’s notes: Heroes are incredibly vulnerable in the late game. The Bodyguard suits are there to provide extra protection so that heroes don't get one-shotted during the late game and also to provide a greater variation in suits.

Big shout out to dexgattaca for allowing his models to be publicly used!

Orca transport ship

A super-heavy transport flier which can transport many Tau units at once

Modder’s Notes: In the late game, the Tau don’t have any proper means to transport over a large amount of forces, so this ship is here to remedy that.

DS-8 Support Turret

A stationary drone which fortifies positions

Modder’s Notes: This comes with a new research option aimed at providing early-game units more presence during the late game.

Modder’s notes: I wanted to give tanks a hero to empower them and I wanted to give items to the Hammerheads. Christmas has come early to these lucky tanks!

New technology

Pirana Ambush

A trait that allows the Pirana to have increased range when the enemy is affected by Marker Light

Modder’s notes: This research aims to provide fun set-ups and interactions with the Pirana.

Strike Teams

A new trait that empowers Fire Warriors and Breachers when they are adjacent to other Fire Warriors/ Breachers.

-.Fire warriors will get the Strike Team buff when they get the research which increases accuracy and overwatch damage. This research will also reduce enemy’s ranged accuracy by 17% when they shoot at the Fire Warriors. Fire Warriors can now also deploy the TS8 support turrets.

-.Breachers will get Breach and Clear! This will increase their armour damage against vehicles and fortifications. It will also increase their grenade range by 1.

Modder’s notes: This research hopes to make early-game units more usable in the middle and late game.

Modder’s notes: I thought it’d be a fun addition to the Crisis Bodyguards. Yeah, that’s it really XD

Balance changes

1) Units

a)TX-4 Piranha
  • Lowered accuracy from 12 to 7 (stay with me now)
  • Added a new weapon: Twin-Linked Pulse Carbine
  • Added a new trait: Target-Lock which increases the accuracy of the Fusion Blaster

    Modder’s notes: The Piranha was extremely lacking and even after the 1.5 buff, it was still underperforming. However, the Seeker Missile was overperforming. So, I’ve lowered the accuracy to make the seeker missile’s performance more appropriate and added new weapons as a buff (and a peace offering).

    Huge thanks to Armstrong for updating the model in order to add new weapons to it! Absolutely revolutionary!

    b) Breacher Fire Warriors

  • Increased Tier from Tier 1 to Tier 2
  • Increased food and ore cost from 15 to 20
  • Increased food upkeep from 1.5 to 2
    [*}Increased production cost from 30 to 36
  • Increased Pulse-Blaster damage from 2 to 2.5
  • Increased armour penetration from 1 to 4
  • Increased accuracy from 6 to 7

    Modder’s notes: The Breachers were a really bad unit and the poor guys were part of an update that (in my opinion) the developers couldn’t care less about. I hope these changes will make the unit more valuable and help with the lack of early-game penetration that the Tau currently have.

    c} AX-3 Razorshark Space Fighter

  • Added new trait (Strafing Run)
  • Quad-Iron Turret (Overcharged damage is now 16)

    Modder’s notes: Strafing run is lore accurate and is a feature of the tabletop. The overcharged buff is in line with the overcharged buff given to other units. As this unit is rather weak for its tier, I figured it deserved a small buff to help it along.

    d) Twin-Linked Ion Rifle (used by the MV-17 Interceptor Drones)

  • Accuracy increased from 4 to 6

    Modder’s notes: I hope this change helps the weapon to perform better in its role


    e) MV-1 Gun Drones Swarm

  • Decreased Accuracy from 6 to 4
  • Increased cooldown from 5 turns to 10 turns
  • Now requires the Gun Drones research to become available on the Tigershark

    Modder’s notes: Even if it comes with a Tier 10, they were overperforming.

    f) XV-95 Ghostkeel Battlesuit

    Ghostkeel Electro-warfare suit

  • Increased ranged damage reduction from 17 to 25

    Modder’s notes: I found that this conditional damage reduction was neither effective nor lore-friendly, so I buffed it.

    g) XV-107 R’varna Battlesuit

  • Decreased accuracy from 9 to 8

    Modder’s notes: There are many valuable ways to play the late-game now, so now the R’varna doesn’t need to carry the late-game as much any more which is why I’m reducing the accuracy. I’ll keep an eye on this change and see how it goes.

    2) Weapons

    a) Fusion Blaster (used by the XV-25 Stealth Battlesuits and the TX-4 Piranha)

  • Damage increased from 6 to 7

    Modder’s notes: The damage output of the units which use this weapon felt lacking , so I hope a small buff will help those units out.

Version 1.5

First Major update time!

This is suppose to be one of the two planned major updates. the first one is mostly balance and the second one will mostly contain content.
This update contains balance and a bit of extra content

*Stealth Battlesuits now have the jump pack ability (effected by Hammer of Wrath)


*Piranha Accuracy from 6 to 12

modder note: The unit is inconsequential. I hope giving it the accuracy to actually strike at anti armor encourages more use.

*R'Varna Battlesuit Accuracy decreased from 10 to 9

Modder Note: Sorry. (It's better this way. It feels more like a 9 than the 10 like this)


*Stormsurge Accuracy Increased from 6 to 7

Modder note: This is mostly to help the stormsurge be a dangerous presence if it has moved and does not benefit from the stabilisers. As with the Stabilisers anything in it's path becomes sludge anyway but without the surge feels rather unimpressive. I will keep an close eye on this change.


*Twin Linked Airbursting Fragmentation Projector (Stormsurge weapon): Attacks increased from 1 to 3

Modder note: This is an anti infantry weapon that honestly never made any real impact even with stabilisers. The aim is to have the increased attacks provide it with actual value.


*Crisis Reinforcement: Now increases food upkeep by 1

Modder note: The fourth suit warrior also has a right to eat


*Drone Controller: Increased accuracy from 2 to 3 and increased range from 1 to 2

Modder note: This suit upgrade is completely overshadowed by any other module. Drones in general aren't worth putting yourself in danger for to put in a 1 tile range for only 2 accuracy. So this buff is to solve both issues.
