Update 02/13/21:

  • Fixed (eliminated the vast majority of cases of) erroneous AI constructor behavior! Remote building (setting up to build a building that is hundreds of meters away, and somehow succeeding), and "double building" are all but eliminated. Finally!
  • Made AI constructors wait until they have enough scrap to build what they want to build.
  • Added a new cheat, changed some codes (see below)

Update 02/12/21:

  • Taught the AI some more cloaking tricks
  • Fixed a bug preventing CRA AI armies from utilizing their full potential/making all possible units
  • Fixed multiple weapon mask bugs
  • Added an Objectives-based code readout and helper, which also provides tips when certain codes are activated. Generally increases transparency and usability of the custom cheats featured in this pack.
  • Developed a long, convoluted, ugly, yet water-tight work around for a "bug" that's been with BZ since release. Based on the game's StrategicAI initialization shortly after the mission begins, any faction not set for control and initialized then cannot use non-vanilla production units if they are given them after mission start. This meant that the NEWAI cheat only really worked for NSDF and CCA before. Now I've scripted a pseudo-AIP helper that can help the AIP/strategicAI along to build units properly from non-vanilla production units that weren't present at mission start! This means that the NEWAI cheat code can be used to replace any AI team on any of these maps with ANY of the 8 available factions, greatly increasing player choice and replayability. Big time fix!
  • Added 3 new cheats (see below)
  • Updated all mission scripts to utilize TPS-based timers (GetTime()) instead of the old frame-based timers used in the early days of BZ1.5. Now regardless of how many buttery frames you push, the AI/scripts still count at the same speed.

Update 02/09/21:

  • Added Switchback
  • Switchback has two possible starting locations and two possible enemy bases. Destroy the PEX platoon on Venus from wherever you land!
  • Fixed issues with the building pathing on Omegadammerung
  • Added an expanded arsenal to the Fury-capable CCA ("FCCA") faction, including previously hidden custom weapons:
    • MG-Stabber - a MAG stabber based on fury technology that disrupts the impacted ship's targeting systems momentarily (in previous versions of BZ/BZR, this weapon crashed the game or caused structures to not have a valid position- this is fixed!)
    • Bolt Buddy - this Fury classic now features heavily in the upgrade priorities of Fury CCA AI
    • Bolt Mine - previously featured in the PEX arsenal
    • Bolt Stream - a gun adaptation of the bolt-mine's weapon, also used by Strain III CCA
    • Soviet Flash Gun - a lighter more ammo efficient flash cannon, but from Soviet Engineers
    • Pummel - a progenitor to the BZ2 counterpart, this weapon has a much more narrow spread that its successors
    • WASP - a rocket-based nano-ammo version of the fury weapon
    • Arbalest - a multi-shot mortar, with lesser damage per impact but greater ordinance spread. Ideal for clearing enemy infantry
  • Added appropriate weapon upgrade tables for the PEX, Omega Squadron, the People's Dragon, and Fury CCA. AI armories from these factions will now send faction-appropriate weapon upgrades to their units (including custom weapons).
  • Fixed the orientation of the starting light tank and enemy recycler on Omegadammerung
  • Fixed an bug that unintentionally capped the AIs scrap too soon on many maps
  • Fixed the armory on Hills of Peace always missing its targets
  • Fixed ODF errors in People's Dragon units, restoring fighter and tank sounds and stats
  • Omega Squadron stole cloaking technology
  • Any AI unit that can cloak has a little better idea how to use it now. (CRA, PDRA, OMEG units use cloak now!)

Update 02/02/21:
Added Omega Squadron, The Peoples' Dragon and Burns' Rebels (PEX) as 3 distinct playable factions, as well as CCA with Furies as a bonus.

  • Access these factions by loading any map in the pack and typing CTRL+SHIFT+IAMOMEG, CTRL+SHIFT+IAMPDRA, CTRL+SHIFT+IAMPEX, or CTRL+SHIFT+IAMFCCA.
  • These are the same full factions from Omega Squadron, Burns' Rebellion, and The People's Dragon - with unique craft load-outs, new weapons, and new skins.
  • For now these are only accessible in this pack to play as via the above cheats, but they now appear as ENEMY factions in this map pack! (And will make more appearances soon.) They are of course also available to play as in their respective mods!
  • Added Adversus Machina, a Titan map that features a 4-way free-for-all battle between the Black Dogs, the CCA (with fury tech), the CRA, and the P-EX. Spawns are randomized for both the player and the 3 AIs on the map. (Good luck!)
  • Fixed an incorrect header in spine.odf
  • Implemented 3 new unique custom cheats (see below!)
  • Laid the groundwork for 4 additional planned maps (see below!)
