Means a lot that the better games still get mod support. <3
(Especially when mods are 95% of the time better than the base game!)

I had no idea that was you, thank you so much for that - it means a lot :D

It's because I dropped Treasure, isn't it? ;)

All the more reason to update it - the older you go in my mods workshop, the worse the quality gets because I've gotten better at Civ V modding over the years. The Covenant and UNSC both had it the worst because they were the first ever mods I made. I'm glad to finally bring them up to a more modern standard of quality :D

Was surprised to see this mod updated in my workshop section, checked out the changelog and saw there was some improvements, which is nice. Took a look at the last changelog-FIVE YEARS AGO?

Old mod for an older game and it gets some attention outta the blue to make it more better. Nice~

& thanks again for still helping out in the "old" game! Always loved Civ5!

Of course, enjoy the mod :D

3 years later, still delivers perfectly! It loaded into the mod menu, I'll definitely dive in when I get off work tomorrow!
Thank you!

"Doubt it's still supported."

You rang?

This is a common issue - go to your Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization V/MODS folder, and check for the Covenant civilization there. If you see it inside its own folder, you're set, but if you only see a .civ5mod file, that means the mod downloaded but the game didn't unpack it properly. You can fix that by deleting your CivVModsDatabase.db file, in Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization V/cache folder, which will make the game create a new database on your next launch - during which it will unpack any mods that haven't been unpacked yet.

IMPORTANT: If you have any mods or mod versions that have since been removed from the workshop or are otherwise now unavailable, they might get deleted when you delete your database so it's worth making a manual backup of those first.

Doubt it's still supported, but I can't seem to find this race at all.
It's not showing in the mod selection.

Unfortunately not. The UNSC, Covenant, and the Flood are all I had planned. An Arbiter/Sangheili Civ would be interesting though, so there's a chance.
Doc.Volteer [Fr Pt] 24 Jul, 2020 @ 6:15pm
I was wondering are you going to do The sanghelie Civ and other One into the mix.

Those are some good ideas, but unfortunately I think they'd all need some advanced coding knowledge to implement - which I don't have.

The Faith-based ideas are good, but you have to remember that the Covenant is a very zealous nation that prides itself in the destruction of humanity and the progress towards the Great Journey. Gaining Faith from the destruction of enemy forces is what makes the most sense. In my opinion anyway.

But thanks for the suggestions. They're always welcome.
GaAnMeGu 14 Apr, 2019 @ 8:00am
Heck while I'm commenting I'll throw another idea out there.

Maybe instead of having combat boost faith, have faith boost combat. Say you get a bonus from great prophets in combat. Or have increased strength against cities the more followers of your religion. On a bigger scale more strength against other civs if your religion is dominant. Or have the capability of spreading your religion through your military.

These last where just some quick ideas I had that I though I'd trow out. Food for thought.

I really like your additions. But I feel the nerf on the elite guard is possibly to much, though the buff I'm about to suggest may also be too much.

The Scarabs often drop in from the sky in the games. It's a quick-to-deploy unit. So giving it instead of the Honor Guard the ability to paradrop makes sense. Furthermore, the Scarab can carry troops inside it in the halo games. In civ this could be done with allowing the stacking of other units (or maybe the honor guard specifically) that comes along when it paradrops. Imagine dropping in with a Scarab and atacking foes with brutes. It's a strong combo. Maybe the honot guard can attack after the paradrop since it has not yet moved by itself.

Possible nerf are to only allow paradrop from a city with an airport, or to have some other special condition for paradropping. Faithbased possibly.

My idea is basically to have some sort of symbiosis between the two unique troops.

None that I can think of now. I’ll keep you posted.

Any suggestions on the unique units and traits?
Prismatica7 23 Apr, 2018 @ 6:11pm
Hello, I don’t know if you are still working on this or not, but as a fan of Halo and Civilization, I would like to see the Storm Covenant added in some way, IE: halo 4 and onward covanant prescence and possible forerunner/promethean civilization as well? Sorry if this sounds demanding, and thank you for your time.

Enjoy this friendly announcement to inform all of you that I have just finished and released the Wraith as a standalone unique unit addon for the Covenant mod, found here:

Have a nice day.
Kohna_401 23 Oct, 2017 @ 1:14pm
oh gosh... you really should find someone to help make unit models. Maybe start a gofund me for us to help or something.
Usernamehere  [author] 4 Oct, 2017 @ 1:52pm
I'm not capable of it, and I don't have any plans to find someone who can. Sorry.
TokeTokeMcSmoke~420~ 4 Oct, 2017 @ 1:51pm
yes, could you change your mind ??? or are you saying your not capable of doing so ? its makes all the difference
Usernamehere  [author] 3 Oct, 2017 @ 4:54pm
The mod is called Halo - The Flood. As for actual Halo units, I don't have any plans to make proper custom models at this point, if that's what you mean.
TokeTokeMcSmoke~420~ 3 Oct, 2017 @ 2:06pm
can u add link or tpye the name and , when does (this mod) get the actual halo units ??? Huge Request!!! big fan. Thanks!
Usernamehere  [author] 3 Oct, 2017 @ 8:36am
You guys should probably know that it's finished.
TokeTokeMcSmoke~420~ 3 Oct, 2017 @ 7:37am
ME TOO
gabes2531 20 Sep, 2017 @ 9:39am
Awesome. Can't wait to try it.
Usernamehere  [author] 20 Sep, 2017 @ 9:28am
It's in the works, actually. Nowhere close to being finished, but I have an alpha of it at the moment that's being developed.
gabes2531 20 Sep, 2017 @ 9:26am
May I ask for a Flood civ mod?
Usernamehere  [author] 19 Aug, 2017 @ 12:43pm
And finished. Version 2 is out, music has been added and some additional bugifxes have been made.
Usernamehere  [author] 19 Aug, 2017 @ 8:35am
@Crimson_Raider
Thanks for the suggestions but I've pretty much got the plans for the UNSC Civ all laid out, save for the second Unique Unit which I still don't have an idea for. I'll consider a Longsword or Shortsword but in the end I might end up choosing a ground vehicle. The Scorpion maybe.

@gamer24
It's inevitable. I haven't started yet, but I know what I'll do when I start it. A UNSC Civ is coming, I guarantee it. Let me just iron out this mod before I do that, as it's my first mod...

@danny-vd-berg
Ask and yee shall receive. I am starting work on Version 2 of this mod right now, and to start things off, I'm going to add music.
Crimson_Nomad 18 Aug, 2017 @ 3:18pm
For reference on a UNSC faction, the Future Units mod had the Longsword Bomber (Suborbital Bomber) model, and an ODST (Power Armor Infantry) model, so if you're intrested in making a UNSC faction with models, there is an idea. Thanks for the great mod!
danny-vd-berg 18 Aug, 2017 @ 12:01am
adding a soundtrack would be awesome. still great tho, have been waiting for a Covenant civ 4ever
gamer24 17 Aug, 2017 @ 11:28pm
Sorry to bother you but are you going to make a UNSC civilization mod as well?
Usernamehere  [author] 14 Aug, 2017 @ 12:07pm
I think I will. Thanks for the suggestion.
Connor 14 Aug, 2017 @ 11:47am
would you be able to look into being able to get someone to make 3d models for the unique units?
Usernamehere  [author] 13 Aug, 2017 @ 2:12pm
Certainly an idea, but it'll require me learning how to actually do that. As you can see, I can make a new Civilization, but I don't yet know how to make an add-on for an existing mod.
SharkyMcSnarkface 13 Aug, 2017 @ 1:56pm
How about using a seperate mod that adds more unique units, that way there's the option.
Usernamehere  [author] 13 Aug, 2017 @ 9:05am
Wraith as the Modern Armor, AA Wraith as the Mobile SAM, Locust from Halo Wars as a Rocket Artillery that can't shoot over terrain obstacles, Seraph as a Jet Fighter, Vampire from Halo Wars as the Helicopter Gunship,

I think I remember on a mod somewhere that someone responded negatively to having more than two Unique Units, so even though I could have easily replaced every Information Era unit there is, I wanted to keep it down to a maximum of two. Maybe in later mods I'll raise it to three or higher...
Toa Konagher 13 Aug, 2017 @ 8:02am
Have you thought about adding more unique units? Just asking.:steamhappy:
Usernamehere  [author] 10 Aug, 2017 @ 3:24pm
I felt that it would be better to stick to the Bungie games.
The Grimwar 10 Aug, 2017 @ 3:12pm
Oh my gosh, this is perfect, though I think you should use the remastered Truth face.
