I approve of letting me know all the same! I'm trying to get my game working to fix other broken mods anyway, if I do I'll go through the rooms and see if any are obviously missing. It could possibly even be conflict with vanilla if they added ones that used to be cut content.

Don't know if it's due to mod conflicts on my end, but two of is mod's rooms are currently broken.

Probably not but those are actually the ones I prefer myself. They don't show naturally on AI empires though.

I discovered the cause of my problem -- the "Gigastructural Engineerign and More" mod was somehow interfering with the rooms. But I found a fix right here in the Workshop.

Still there for me just at the very end, slot 79 of 79. I'll get a buddy to try too soon since it might work differently for me since it's loaded from my documents.

I think that your mod is somehow not letting the new Toxoid room to appear -- I'm nt seeing it in the Room Selection.

Nah sorry. I do prefer that type myself. Though I don't think I ever got AI spawning working so they won't come up in game unless you choose them.

I'll change version number next time I touch the mod. For now it'll work fine, it'll never actually break unless they change how rooms work.

It's one of my old cancelled mods, so thank you. Made various clothing for a friend. It's essentially halted now though, that's why the room is in this mod.

Thank you! I think I finally figured it out... I hadn't realized you truly had to name your image files with _room at the end. Very new to Stellaris modding, thought specifying a filename was good enough?! And it almost was lol

Well we're already Steam friends, I can help you out directly if you need it!

First off you don't really need mipmaps, those are used like LODs but for textures and Stellaris barely uses them. Probably not your issue though, just a small tip. Another tip, rooms should be in DXT3 or DXT5 compression, as DXT1 doesn't store alpha/opacity.

I can help you out if nothing works, message and maybe send me the files and I'll take a look.

Hey there. I'm just learning room modding... as I was hoping to do some custom work similar to yours. I've got everything working except my rooms are showing up black. I had opened some DDS files in GIMP (have the plugin) and then edited, and then exported as a DDS, generating Mimaps.

Is there something I'm doing wrong that you can guess?

@Deathlord Sulvhamir I think this is on my end, but it's really annoying as I got some friends to test it and they reported different rooms being blank.
I can't mod Stellaris right now but I might outright remove whatever is causing the issue, you may have to just avoid the blank until I can fix or delete it.

@Guzman afraid not, the game is hard-coded to only do that for new species classes. I tried making new species classes in a previous mod but it was a lot of work and clutter.

They *will* work on player-made empires if you set them to spawn at least, even for species made via text editing.

I have set some of them to spawn for certain ethics but they're so rare I have doubts it even works :P

Last I played around with Stellaris I encountered a blank room, just the exterior where a window would be shows and the rest is pitch black. Is this a bug with the mod or has something gone wrong on my end?

You know, I originally made my mod like Diverse Rooms, but there wasn't a point in having two similar mods on the Workshop at the same time which is why this mod is now all vanilla-styled.

I figured having a smaller number of edited rooms would be less cluttered for people who use both mods at once.

I appreciate your complements. I'm on a bit of a hiatus with Stellaris (college plus waiting for Stellaris updates) but if you or the other modders want help just drop a comment somewhere :D

Hey Trace, from a competitor's standpoint (one of the guys behind 'Diverse Rooms' here), I just wanted to say, I think your mod looks absolutely fantastic! Certainly a lot of very cool looking rooms here. The vanilla style and modifying Paradox's rooms was a bit of a bridge too far for mr.. :P If you ever feel the need to work together or just chat about ideas, let me know!
