If you're still keeping an eye on this mod, I was curious how you did this, as I was wanting to do something similar for my own games (not looking to upstage you or anything.)

There can be. Same like there can be two of all the other too. That's sadly an unavoidable thing. As confederation names can only be set after culture. Not per individual faction.

I see. Haven`t seen two confederations of same culture before. I hope there won`t be two Empires.

I would like to ask to change some faction names.

Norsca - Worldwalker

Vampire Counts confederation - Vampire Counts (since Carsteins is separate faction and VC includes non-Carstein vampires too. Also you can be in confederation with Mousillon)

Greenskins - Da Immortulz
Crooked Moon - Crooked Moon Tribe
The Bloody Handz - Bloody Hand Tribe
Confederation: Greenskins (for all Greenskin factions aka no Green Tide)

Beastmen - Menfall Herd
Beastmen confederation (if exist) - Beastmen

and return old names for factions below.

Undead - Undead

Kislev - Kislev

Crooked Moon Mutinous Gits < Crookhoodz
Hellspire < Hastlings
Vanaheimlings < Kvelings
Nagilfari < Wyrmkin
Goromandry < Snaegr

As far as I know, there's no way to make one name mod that involves two or more languages. So a seperate mod per language are needed :)

Thanks for your reply! I was thinking to make the changes just for myself (and perhaps for friends if they are interested in). A rerelease was not my idea so far. If the mod detects the game version perhaps we can work on some kind of German localization.

@Herzog: I'll happily help you out! Do you mean you want to make your own German version, or to reedit my mod files to fit yours or what? :)

That being said, the actual process of making name mod are easy to do. Takes a bit of time, but the actual work, easy.

Hello Moneybear, I'm new to Warhammer mods so perhaps it's a dumb question. Is it easily possible to modify the faction names the mod changes? I play the German version and obviously not all faction names are the same as on the English version so I'd like to change the names to German where is it needed to avoid a mix between English and German in the game. Thank you!

Hey man, installing your mod now, hopefully it works, looks really good!

I almost didn't instal it though because I thought "Von Carstein Dynasty" feels a little underwhelming when you confederate. I am not a lore expert, so perhaps there just isn't a better name. I have noticed other mods use names like "Eternal Empire" but they are probably stretching the lore too far? Even just having it the confed be "Vampire Counts" seems better to me.

Also, I was thinking that "Asrai" looked a little strange, shouldn't it be something like "The Asrai"?

Ordev: Yeah, saw the same error where in the long mod version, so where afraid it where in the short version too. Have fixed it now. Let me know if the error are still there. Do know that you might need to start a new campaign after downloaded the mod update for the fix to take affect. I don't think it will fix already started campaigns.

Franko: I can 100% see your point of view, as I said, Sarls where my orignal plan :) But will stick with Kin Slayers, simply based on that when the game starts, Wulfrik are already known as the Wanderer etc. Meaning it's long past the event of letting the Sarls be killed of. Plus, the Sarls are an dormant race, meaning a race Chaos can reawaken o.o

Git: That mod, on it's info page, says will work with any mod that doesn't change the startpos.esf file. My mod(s) doesn't change that file :) Mine only change the 'cultures_subcultures' and 'faction' files.

Is there any chance you can work with the makers of factionunlocker+ to ensure these two are compatible? I love these faction renames, but I also love the balance changes his mod adds like splitting the legendary lords up and letting you play out as factions like Mousilon.

@Moneybear: While that is true that Wulrik let the Sarls get slaughtered based on his lore, he is still a Norscan Sarl, probably the last Sarl alive. The whole point of TW is to alow you to play out history/lore differently, which is why renaming it to Sarls would make since, as you could play as Wulrik and decide not to forsake the Sarl's to slaughter and rule them and beome King of Norsca. But alas this is your mod and all I want to say is thank you for the work you have done. Cheers!

That that name wouldn't fit, because Wulfrik basically let the Sarls get slaughtered based on his lore.

@FrankO: Aren't there already a faction called Warherd of Chaos though? Or something similar? o.o That spawns together with Chaos in the north later in the game.

@Franko: The clan name for Wulfrik wheren't an easy pick :) Because of his lore. But made the choice based on help from Rhino that I got over at the previous version of this mod.

Can't make seperate confederation names for each faction in a culture. If I set the confederation name for the Greenskins for example, it sets it for all Greenskins factions.

Made the Dwarfs clans, as feel that fits better as the game progresses when the factions loses their homeland etc. :)

Maybe Skarsnik's Waghh for confederated Crooked Moons?
Also, the Dwarven Realms ARE, lorewise, seperate kingdoms. Maybe leave them at Karak's?
