Collective IP is legally recognised in the US for indigenous peoples in some cases. Also in Australia. IDK details TBH.

So a Cherokee wouldn't need his permission to develop a mod of Cherokee if he wished. In fact by using Cherokee city names @thecrazyscotsman actually gives the right to a Cherokee to modify/patch his TCS Cherokee City States mod

@sukritact I've not copied any of @thecrazyscotsman's artwork, XML or SQL. Technically this is a "patch" that includes that mod whole.

@Chimpang I've removed the use of Sri Lankan city names from TCS Sri Lankan City State Pack cos they're not independent city states. Kandy, Anuradhapura, Kelaniya & Tissamaharama are the same civ. You have one CS or cities in a civ for Sri Lanka which I'm developing.

Technically this is a patch in preparation for my Sri Lanka led by Dutugamunu.

I'm aware this stuff is free. Nonetheless we all hold IP over the stuff we make. I would be in my right to report a mod that reused my artwork without permission.

In the absence of Digital Rights there is Cultural IP, or the right to one's own culture. If it's anything to do with Sri Lanka I don't need anybody's permissions

@Deliverator23 Why would anyone make Tissamaharama a CS? It's an outskirt city in Sri Lanka and never an independent city state like S'pore or Hong Kong.

Lahore for example is 15th most populous city in the world. Pakistan still is not represented at all in Civ VI
