Hey there. Just wanted to report that this mod converted a couple of my fire wyverns for some reason. Not all of them, and none of the lightning wyverns. The rest stayed Classic Flyers. I got this mod rather than your full speedy flyers mod specifically because I only wanted the ice wyverns affected, but for some reason it's messing with at least two of my fire wyverns.

@Franz I had trouble like hell, the mod didn't require a command to activate at all, however on my server we did have to enable breeding. I was using CF for everything else and NSF for Ice Wyverns only, huge issue with overspawn and I ended up having everybody on the server unpod their stuff, swapped CF to NSF, and now I'm trying to tweak all the INI settings to get the animals back to where CF's base was.

Not sure the point of creating a mod that requires one to edit the gameuser.ini file just to activate it. ONE could assume that if one wanted speedy ice wyverns that were speedy, tameable and breedable the mod author would actually insert code with those settings activated.

This is my fault for not reading everything before hand. Deleted this mod from server as in the end the extra work wasn't worth the extra effort to me. The Ice Wyverns were more of a novelty anyway.

Added at the end of the Game.ini file stopped the spawning of useless Ice Wyverns on my Ragnarok server. I was able to go collect left over Ice Wyvern eggs right after the DestroyWIldDinos command. The nests had disappeared but the eggs remained. The Eggs can be hatched. However, No new eggs will respawn.

I installed this mod on our server hoping to quell the Ice Wyvern issue. We are using Classic Flyers at the moment for the majority of our creatures and have this installed to handle the Ice Wyverns. We are still getting MASSIVE overspawn of Ice Wyverns on Rag. I'm having to do a dino wipe at least once a day due to hundreds (literally) of Ice Wyverns at each of the next locations making Murder Snow entirely untravelable for a lot of the players. We collected numerous eggs and intend on keeping those breedable for people who want Ice Wyverns but I cannot seem to disable the spawning of Ice Wyverns on the map either using the following:

NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="Wyvern_Character_BP_Ice_SF.Wyvern_Character_BP_Ice_SF",ToClassName="")

Any help would be appreciated

I have a mod on my server that has a wyvern rock that adds 15 armor when in the saddle slot. It doesn't seem to work with these ice wyverns. Any ideas?

Nope, it's not. As stated, I only touched the speed stat. You could up the global stam modifier (which will then apply to every dino)?

I am aware it says nowhere you changed the "stamina" of the ice wyvern, but is it a customizable thing? since i would like the stam to be "pre Nerf" aswell :)

Good to know that the intended switch out is still functioning as it is supposed. I hope all goes as planned and sincerely hope I can deliver on the expectations, seems to go well thus far and my bet to opt for stability by childing the modded BP’s of the vanilla ones instead of bluntly copying them and modding those copies as most other flyer mods do really seems to pay off 😆! Ah, I may just keep the Ice Wyvern mod to avoid any surprises as we have given out a few ice wyverns as raffle prizes in the past. As for replacing CF with your Speedy Flyers mod, we have found that if we breed the flyers and store the eggs in the fridge beforehand, we can keep our good stats as freshly hatched flyers, hatched after the switch, will be Naj flyers that are breedable.

From my tests I can't see anymore losses.

Once we have your mod locked in, we have no intention of removing it.

Yeah, I see your point. Please be aware of the drawback that you WILL lose the tames of wildly spawned flyers once you remove my mod. As this is different from what classic flyers offers I just thought I’d point it out to you, so that you don’t run into unpleasant surprises along the route

I actually plan to switch to your core mod on Sunday so I'll try the rotation rate on that one. We simply can't handle Classic Flyer's instability and how it breaks every patch, so a thousand thank yous for making a flyer mod that doesn't have those issues.

I have modified the core mod quite extensively over the past few weeks and I’m not quite sure if changes were needed to make the rotation rate work... while the main mod and it’s companion mods will remain my main priority over the forthcoming weeks I’ll see if I can focus some attention towards the separate Ice Wyvern mod to get it up to the same implementation as the main mod...

I noticed that the WyvernRotationRateModifier=5.0 isn't working. Is it typed incorrectly? I don't use ice wyverns much but I did add this under [SpeedyFlyers] some time ago. The Classic Flyers wyvern has it set to 5 as well and is noticeably faster when turning.

Not sure why we're still using CF, I guess mainly because people would lose their breedable CF flyers. If I could switch to your core mod for all I would in an instant.

Sure can, but you’d have to add the Ice Wyvern to a spawner container manually or use the Speedy Flyers Companion mod for The Center. Also, you would have to load Ragnarok DLC even uf you don’t use the map (because it needs the Ragnarok assets...

Hmm, the first report we got was around the end of January, the 25th to be exact. I'm not seeing anything in your change notes and can't recall if there was a WC patch around that time. We've had about 4 incidents of this so far that were reported at least.

Hello again! In recent days we've noticed our Speedy Icy Wyverns turning to level 1 randomly. It hasn't happened at the same time, but over time more and more tamed wyverns have changed to level 1, including my own on the server. I'm curious if you know of an issue.

Yeah, I found this out as well. It appears that was intended and players must kill wyverns that have strayed from nests and wait it out as they're intended to be rare. I figure there must still be a way to increase them but not the end of the world. Thanks for your help.

I’ll get back to you on this, but since the Ice Wyvern is not in the Dev Kit yet I guess I would have to ask Dave (Excited_Kangaroo, dev for the Ragnarok map) what name tag they have used...

I tried upping the "Wyvern" dino tag, even tried "IceWyvern" and "Ice Wyvern" just for shits and none of them made a difference on the ice wyverns. I've been using ACM which allows you to update the page after so long to see if the spawns have changed and they do seem to be capped at 2. I'm not sure if this is just with your mod or if the base ice wyverns are the same, I've heard conflicting reports on this. To clarify, the other wyverns (fire, lightning, poison) do seem affected by my change multiplier change as much more are spawning.

Anyways, I appreciate your response. If you figure anything out with this, let me know!

Also, I had a question regarding the eggs. Do you know if they hatch the base wyverns or your speedy wyvern? Haven't tested that myself. Thanks again.

I will have to check that in the dev kit, but I know the counts for the other Wyverns are on the name tag wyvern (Wyvern_BASE Blueprint) and the spawners then randomly choose between the 3 basic types of wyverns. The alpha (mega) wyvern is then spawned as a (very tiny) fraction of the Fire Wyvern, so I reckon that the Game does it’s counting based on the ‘wyvern’ name tag, and not ‘fire wyvern’ or ‘ice wyvern’ etc. The Ice Wyvern of course has a slightly different spawning mechanism through a separate spawner on ragnarok, so it may differ for the Ice Wyvern, but as I said: have to check for myself in the dev kit...

@NajKrid Hey, I'm playing on Ragnarok and only 2 are up at a time. I'll give that a shot but instead raise the multipliers you listed as I believe those are really since they're under 1.0. The default ice wyverns are "Ice Wyvern", so you you're thinking the modded ones fall under "Wyvern" instead? Sorry, just woke up and a bit groggy at the moment.

This is what I recommend using:

DinoSpawnWeightMultipliers=(DinoNameTag="Wyvern",OverrideSpawnLimitPercentage=False,SpawnLimitPercentage=0.03,SpawnWeightMultiplier=0.02)

Of course you can alter the numbers, but I guess the name tag you should use would have to be “Wyvern” instead of “Ice Wyvern” (I guess the spawners count the numbers based on the base class for all wyverns, even though it’s only the Ice Wyvern that spawns in your specified spawner)

Hey, great mod! I have a question about increasing the amount of ice wyverns spawning.

Normally, the code would be this:

DinoSpawnWeightMultipliers=(DinoNameTag="Ice Wyvern",SpawnWeightMultiplier=2.5,OverrideSpawnLimitPercentage=True,SpawnLimitPercentage=1.0)

Would it be differently with your mod? Increasing the above doesn't do much for our server. They seem to be capped at 2 at a time which makes finding eggs impossible.

I’ll check, but as far as I can see the ‘vanilla’ Ice Wyvern doesn’t provide an icon there as well, making it, well... harder to make it happen. More changes are coming because the mod still has some replication issues. As soon as my main mod is stable Ice Wyvern wise I will provide an update...

If you check the corresponding section about adding Speedy Flyers in non-native maps for the full Naj’s Speedy Flyers mod it should not be too hard to figure it out... Happy gaming!
