Please update the mod when the next dlc comes out so that I can still play with this superior version
You're welcome
@H Con
You can't yet. It's been in my plans since I created the monarchist path, and especially after someone on the R56 Discord server asked me for it too, but I haven't yet decided what the appropriate drawbacks and challenges to push it through that way should be. So for now civil war or standard election are the only options. Rest assured it's quite high on the future priority list at least, alongside improving and expanding the communist focus path.
@Koragg33
Well, it's a bit tedious, but I did get it done. You can play the updated mod now
Yes, this would work alright as decisions unlocked by certain situations, focuses or general progress, at least for the democratic branch, maybe the monarchist branch as well. Thanks for the suggestion.
@perplex_
Great to hear
Playing as Norway (ofc) I find it hard to gain a manpower large enough to take Sweden after taking over Denmark. I would suggest adding a focus "appeal to Norwegian abroad". Where you open up for decisions using PP to promote immigration to Norway from Norwegians abroad. To different countries, USA, Canada, Brazil and Australia. For example, 30.000 increase in population each year for Canada, 50.000 for USA and 10% of directly in added manpower. This focus should follow a focus about that the difficult economic 1930s is over
Yes, in fact it's already been adapted and pushed to the beta from my branch on the Road to 56 development GitHub, though of course it was first developed for NaW this time, and my personal mods can be brought out to you guys a lot sooner than really big collaboration mods. I believe the R56 update is near though according to the other developers/the R56 Discord.
Hope your're enjoying the Railroad Development thing at least, it was very much a thing I came up with and decided to do in the spur of the moment. I assume things work fine and without issues at least both from no feedback and from my testing, but I would very much like to hear what people think about the gameplay/fun facor of it. The Railroad Development decisions are small things to spend a significant portion of industry on, but of course the actual benefits are limited to fighting/supplying troops on or near your homelands for the most part.
It has to do with the historical event that changes your election cycle from three to four years between elections, which you can get in the first half of 1938 at the earliest, I believe, by either staying democratic or becoming non-aligned (just avoid the "Reject Constitutional Monarchy"-branches.) Though to see the actual reference you may need to play a multiplayer game or tag switch, as the follow up event is given to the other Nordic countries only, and the event option requires either non-aligned Government or the Neutrality idea (both Sweden and Finland usually qualify.)
Since it's somewhat tedious to see, I'll inform you of a screenshot of this being in the middle of the latter half of the showcase pictures above, and the reference will probably only be gotten if you've seen the quoted episode. Also, relevant emoji:
No problem glad you still like the overall product, and I'm doing well, thanks.
For everyone:
Two moderate/small updates, 1.4.1a and 1.4.1b, were released this week, improving small issues, and adding historical events and event pictures for Armed Neutrality and Nortraship. Leader descriptions for country leaders are also back. Enjoy everyone, and as always, feel free to leave some feedback if you have any
Yeah, like Koragg asked, any other mods in use? Also providing the error log (or at least the lines right before the crash) would help. Everything works fine on my end.
Thanks. I will keep working on it over time. In fact one large update has been released just now if you're interested
There is at least a decision to create a network of fortifications from the Glomma river down to Halden (the Glomma-Halden Line) which have been in for quite a while. In regards to adding Halden as a victory point/city on the map, it's a little on the smaller side, so I've prioritized other places before it. Maybe I'll think of something more in the future, or find some good reason making it important enough to add as a VP eventually (Narvik was in the base game from the start I believe, for obvious historical and war-strategic reasons, despite actually only being slightly more populous than Halden in the 1958 statistics at least.)
Overall, i would rate it 4/5 mod, it does what it's supposed too do very effectively.
Hope you liked it :)
I should also mention there's now been two small/medium updates since the Barbarossa/NSB update, and graphics issues have been fixed, new characters/advisors have been added and we now also have more division namelists for land units and R56's plausible agent names integrated, with new historical ones on top, based on cover names from the historical Norwegian resistance in XU, Milorg and/or SOE. Focus tooltips should also be even better and more clear now. Check out the Change Notes for specifics and a full list of additions and balancing
Takk, nå er den oppdatert i alle fall.
NaW is finally updated for 1.11.* Barbarossa/No Step Back. The workload for simply updating was a lot heavier than expected, but I hope people can find the wait worth it anyways, as a lot of new features and solid polish and fixing of the quirks of the mod has been done too. There's 5 new focuses, two new endgame ideas, new graphics from R56, events, more sensible focus rewards, more AI considerations, one or a few new advisors (depending on if playing this or the R56 version previously), new decisions and the rail focuses now actually give rails instead of infrastructure (and yes, I have been looking at historical railway maps), those routes are historical
Enjoy everyone, and feel free to leave a message about what you found good, a message about what could be improved and most certainly messages about any bugs you may find. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all
No problem
Yes, I will be working on updating the (almost identical) files used in R56 first, then port the changes/updates to this one shortly afterwards, so it's pretty much number one on my priority list among my mods. I've started looking at the new character system already, but how much time it will take I'm not entirely sure about. I've been away from modding for some months up until recently, so I'm a tad rusty as well. I'd give it a week before starting to check back here at least :S
Yeah, in fact several of them, especially political focuses meant for flavor are already 35 days. Though of course, I've planned to look at more options for shortening focuses as well, for reasons such that more focuses are added to the tree over time, that I believe in shorter focuses myself for more flavor and engagement, and that that's generally the way both the base game and big mods like R56 are trending with their focus trees.
I'm considering doing Southern-Norway as a state, holding what was/is the Agders/Agder county. Not any more than that though, as that would be much smaller/weaker states than the base game.
@post
I like that idea, he should definitely be in as a choice eventually when Norway has been at war with the Labor Party in charge, especially if having been occupied and then liberated.
Would be great if you could add more regions, historically accurate would be 20, but I would suggest using the current 11 administrative regions, with Oslo merged with Viken down to 10.
For me it feels a bit weird having so few regions, especially during the civil wars for some reason.
Also, a focus to retake Isle of Man, just for fun would be cool
Love your mod, keep up the work!
Some indirect interactions with the Svalbard archipelago has been on my mind for some time, actually. It'll probably happen sooner or later. No map expansion though (in case anyone was seriously wondering about it), extending the map to the north would be way too many compatibility issues and too much work for the small payoff.
i can live without it. I am just letting anyone know who is using that mod
Yeah, get back to me with which mods you use. If they have edits to some of the same files I use there could be a conflict. As a last ditch effort if it's not the other mods (though it usually is), one can try to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the mod.
