A shame this is an old map, the creator had the right idea of separating the continents by using ocean tiles

I would like to understand why, in the tiny map, cities do not rename themselves as in TSL. Yet in the citymap.xml file there are also cities for that map. Does anyone know how to make them appear for that map as well? Thanks!

@SilentOption - The Loc_City-name bug has sadly ruined one of the best Civ VI maps ever. I really hope the mod designers find a way to fix this.

There is a big where the map deletes all the rivers when you restart.

When playing on Viking Earth, It worked fine initially, but when I restarted my playthrough, all the rivers were gone.

More on the map error. The Viking Earth map has Mogadishu spawning in Portugal - while keeping its name as Mogadishu while Hong Kong is appearing as "Loc_City_name" in front of the name on the city banner. This is one of the better maps, would like to see it working correctly if this can be fixed.

A weird error just started happening. Some of the cities are appearing as "LOC_CITY_NAME" in front of the city names on the banner. Really ruins the feel of the game. Anyway to fix this?

Playing TSL Remastered I noticed capitals were immediately becoming disloyal in Europe, I thought this was disabled?

@sjtimmer7 must be a bug with the YNAMP map script generation. Not sure I can do anything about that

@nsw7345 This mod uses the default YNAMP resource generation options, which seem to be a bit light on the strategic resources. I'll need to look into the extra resource options in YNAMP to boost strategics.

@LordHeX™.Stormrage Probably to do with spawning the Honey resource on floodplains. The improvement may not be allowed on that feature. I'll have to update the resource rules to allow it

I don't recommend anyone play VIKING Giant Earth, it's outdated and unstable. Use the Giant Earth map from the link in the comment below. It's a superior version of Viking Giant Earth in every way, and it doesn't crash.

It started with my builder in my city on the Viking map, he was sleeping since the start of the game I got it from a goody hut about turn 20 I noticed he was gone

Then my scout I got from a goody hut too, except I noticed my scout disappeared when healing him, so I went back to an autosave and watched him, he had 38 heath, a barbarian went 1 tile from him, never attacked and it said he lost 38 heath,

There was no unit lost notification with either units, kind of a weird bug.

All I want to do is play an Earth Map bigger then the small maps offered by the game.

Thanks to creator of this mod. there is a small issue, when I use VIKING's Giant Earth map, there was only few strategic resources. same at restart many time. only one or none steel, there was no oil or aluminium. I don't know how to set more appropriately... please let me know the solution. Thank you.

The True Start Location for the Aztecs is fucking insane. So many amenities, I have a +20 attack damage for my units after I've controlled the entirety of North America and some of South America.

Northern Europe and Southern England should be grasslands, not plains. For that, I won't be subscribing to this mod.

VIKING's Giant Earth has the same problem as YNAEMP: The Great Bath gives a sandstorm on desert floodplains, and no science.

@sjtimmer7 This mod is from 2018, and is for people with lower end PCs that can't handle large maps. Sounds like you should try my newer earth maps mod instead:

There is still ice north of Russia and Canada, Denmark misses the Southern tip, Belgium and The Netherlands are non-existend, South Africa should be more north, , Australia is warped, and the map is even smaller then YNAMP Greatest Earth!

There is only one file in the mod, change this setting to 0

CanAnnexTilesWithCulture = 1

For reduced city distance, there are many mods out there that do that as well

@Nekopapa The sea level rise is disabled from the game settings on Viking Giant Earth. It won't cause a crash unless you went into the mod files and manually turned it back on again.

Hey I love this mod but I was wondering if I could get a mod that just adds in the map options available in this mod like being able to reduce the distance between cities, but mainly the static city state borders option, I've been trying to cut down on alot of my mod but I literally can't play the game without these 2 changes anymore, thanks in advance.

The Viking Giant Earth Map is by far the most stable of its size that I’ve played so far. YNAMP had the those massive earth maps that, while impressive, would cause the game to crash over and over again. Not to mention the enormous amounts of time it took in between turns. I’m glad I’m actually able to play a full campaign for once.

@Kakutani They'll have to be added manually, those options won't work. Also this version (VIKING Giant Earth) will break if you enable sea level rise so its disabled

@cmfdayel check your LUA log files for Civ6. Make sure the natural wonders are enabled when creating a new game.

@Kakutani Thanks! This mod is a bit older, probably does need some updating on the Steam page.

For anyone reading this, there is a new and improved version of VIKING Giant Earth in my other mod, Play the World. It should also be more stable (the size has been reduced slightly, among other changes such as sea level rise being enabled again).

I think your steam workshop description is a little out of date; it implies that in order to toggle rules, you have to edit the mod's files. But they also show up in-game on the advanced settings menu.

Fantastic mod btw; I was just recommending it to someone on Reddit.

is this stable? better than YNAMP? Wanting to play Giant Earth with RF but dont want to get to the climate change stuff then the game crash like YNAMP
