Thank you all! This is a very old creation and was built before CPU and weights and volumes. The MX5E was updated however, but the T models was not. I hope that explains why things are not set up well and I bet the ship doesn't work to well with CPU either. If you did like the idea of this this ship, the MX5E would (lol, should) be up to date. And thanks again all!

Just downloaded and spawned in vanilla, and the CPU allocation is 50k+, but at T1, only have 6k to play with. T3 is only 40k, so I have to upgrade to T4 before I can fly this thing properly?
I'm confused, I recently built your amazing Ascension-ISV and was blown away by the quality of information and upgrade path, so to see so little information for the MX5T... have I done something wrong/missed something?

This has -645kN of vertical when I spawn it in A12. If it's not compatible with A12 please put that at the top of the description.

Thank you rootzij! I guess on the video I was stressing myself out a bit trying to make it work right at tier 2 CPU. I have to face facts that I either need to have it a tier 3 or lesson the storage and features I wanted it to have. I haven't yet made up my mind on that. I will be back at it soon and a new video. I have been watching your videos including the one where you are modding this one. I'm really glad you are modding this one for A11. Don't worry about want CPU level you have to go to. We just want our old friend updated and we don't mind the additional CPU expense.. Thanks!

Jeff, I hope you don't mind but I updated your fantastic MX-5E (game's new stock SV) The MX5 has been my favorite SV. I hardened it, added a shield, cargo controllers, constructors and more thrusters. Thanks again for these great designs. It's really fun to start with something that looks cool.. all my designs look like flying shoe boxes. LOL

Thanks garry! Yeah, this version with the extra thrust will work fine with hardened steel. Maybe I should have converted it when I first released it. I just wanted a fast version at the time. lol. Thanks again!

Spawned it out and upgraded to hardened and still flies great... just need to do some looting to fill in the rest of the weapon hard points. Thanks

Thanks rootzij! Yes actually. This ship has a enough thrust to move decently yet if heavier armor blocks where used. It will slow down some thou but should still fly decently. Thanks again!

@Joe, not to blow my own horn or anything but if your looking for small and warp capable, I did post this recently. It isn't as pretty as jrandall's but it is cheap to build and I literally fly this SV into a mine with me as a mobile support station.

@Joe, Thanks. I do have plans to add some more Merc ships to the line up. In the near future I should have a MX1 and MX10. I want also do a new version of the MX8 or make a MX7. The problem is, is most of the design I like the most (In early concept phase) tend to be wide. I will think on this thou. Thanks again.

your mx5 is really useful with its hugh amount of storage boxes
However, it is kind of too large, requires even more space to park than your MX8.
Do you have any plan to make a smaller version of mx5 (or a warpable mx3)?

This SV is one _tough_ sob. A pair of base bomber drones got ahold of my parked MX5 and had a field day with it before I could grab another vessel and destroy them. After all was said and done, the ship was still flyable sort of. I was able to break atmosphere and dock with my CV for repairs barely.. No working left or down thrusters by the time I got home. Screenshots or it didn't happen...

Thanks for reply man.. I totally get the points you make. True on all points. Don't want it slower & i get that to many version might make things too cluttered in the work shop ect.

@DARK, I had a debate about that with myself too. I have three issues with it. 1. It would slow it down to about the speed of the E version. 2. It still would not be very tough do to it's small size and 1 layer of armor. 3. I hate having too many versions of the same ship. What I decided was to make a new ship which was supposed to be the MX10 and be more battle hardened and much tougher. Well, when building it, it grew in size more and became much more expensive and ended up becoming the MX18. So, I do realize I am missing that mid range affordable tougher SV in my line up. I do have plans to build something else for that at some point thou. Thanks again.

@Killswitch, Also, I have been working up to making PVP type items. My biggest problem has been with cockpits and either the all in one or glass cockpits are problematic unless you run multiple layers of glass, but then you can hardly see out them anyway. Also, it takes ALOT of thrusters and RCS to get them to move decent if you have multiple layers of protection. So, the Merc-MX18 and the upcoming Anubis-AT were designed to have a secure internal cockpit for 3rd person view only. The MX18 actually has both. Small steps towards making something PVP worthly, but not quite there yet as far as I know. Thanks again.

My favorite first SV in the game since it's quite affordable a super functional. (and recently took mlitple rear rocked hits, blowing half the ship apart yet still was able to warp and fly me to safety.)
I absoluely love all of jrandall's designs, IMHO the best in the entire workshop. The designs are incredible and make the game so much better. My only request is more hard core PVP designs (Hard Core, now there's a good name to follow the 'core' line) , especially a nimble POI killer and a super massive CV / Carrier like the giga core expect BIGGER with muliple / layered walls and doors and less protuberances to get blown off. My favoirite CV right now is the Nomad XT. The Giga is just a bit too sprawly and needs a bit better workflow layout, but it's still a msterpeice of design. Keep up the great work!

@Skitzo Sam, ok, I justed spawned the ship in creative, checked the o2, and it was air tight and working. Then I saved it again, and then updated the ship in the workshop. Give that a try. If it is still bad, I would track down the ship file on your hard drive and delete it and hopefull steam will resend it to you. I think this is a glitch that you are seeing. Well, it has to be really. It's not possible to build something with air tanks sticking thru blocks. ... and Thanks :)

It is a nomad :) i love your ships. Im not sure which end its happened on but yeah the spawning of this ship everything was bugged and overlapping, you had oxygen tanks poking through the steel plating and RCS on the outside was really weird.

@Skitzo Sam, hey, that ship in the background looks like a Nomad!!! :) I don't really know what I am looking at in the pictures. Looks like it glitched. In few I will repost the ship. I again tested it, I did solve the air leaks in the back alreay (2 of them) and thought it should be good. In those screen shots, that not right and not possible to have a air tank thru a block unless the game screwed up. Something happened to the ship, corrupt file maybe IDK.. I will re-summit it. Thanks

@jrandall, oh, btw, any chance for Merc-MX5 style CV? you know, tiny little starter/exploration/drifter CV, without hangars, landing pads, growing plots and so one, just a cockpit and main room with tightly packed essentials

@jrandall, yeah, i'm trying to play in 1st person too, but for flying kinda have to switch to 3rd person, since all closed cockpits really darken the view (especially in the night without nightvision) and there is no additional cameras to check other sides (for landing, docking or just looking around), so in the end the only difference is where you exit, i just prefer safety of my ship
as for gathering stuff on surface when you need to constantly exit ship - there is always trusty Mite-CX, love this little guy
anyway, thank you for all these beautiful ships, they are just awesome, all of them, i only wish there was no need to remake their internals from built for two players with too many constructors and boxes, to a one player with kinda more convenient placement, but i guess as you said - everyone have their own playstyle

@Clanfear, Thanks. Very cool mods done. In my play style I prefer the standard cockpit for in and out quick access. I tend to jump out a lot and pick some plants or what not and then jump back in and fly off. Also I normally always play in 1st person, so these standard cockpits have great visibility. The newest ship I made is a hybrid of having both an internal secure cockpit + a front cockpit. So I am trying to accommodate everyone's play styles. Thanks again! Great Pictures!
