After a long hiatus I've published one more small mod:

elotar  [author] 9 Jul, 2019 @ 9:45pm
New version uploaded. Banana plantations returned - they are now no longer removing production.
zArkham4269 29 Jun, 2019 @ 9:18am
Well in testing out your mods (and your recommended mods) I realized that by not being able to do anything with bananas actually meant that late in the game, I had tiles I could deploy Great People to! Have to say, so far, your mods are making the later game better.
elotar  [author] 29 Jun, 2019 @ 1:44am
@zArkham, as I understand, on additional luxuries mods this one will just have no effect, but with "Banana's are Luxuries" there may be some troubles. I may think about support for them in later versions but it'll be quite hard as this mod as quite strictly balanced around basic game resource quantities and placing algorithms.
zArkham4269 27 Jun, 2019 @ 7:37am
Is this mod compatible with the Amer-Asian Resource mod?. Also, how would this mod interact with a mod like "Banana's are Luxuries" ?
elotar  [author] 24 Jun, 2019 @ 3:52am
I've published kind of essential, imo, mod, which fixes the difficulty problems:

Or, actually, I can just remove -1P from banana plantation. It was bothering me that then there will be improvement, which gives more than +1 yeild, but maybe having unimprovable resource is worse. Also it will help in usually production low jungle starts.

Will implement it in the next update.
elotar  [author] 19 Jun, 2019 @ 4:07am
@Haftetavenscrap - jungle is removed because of plantation. Theoretically it's possible to make separate improvement "banana plantation" which will not remove jungles, and then steal graphics from something to represent it. But practically it all looks very unfruitful.

But having thought about it - maybe it's better just to give +science for bananas to universities.:/

Jibbles 18 Jun, 2019 @ 1:39pm
Would it be possible to change Bananas so that jungle isn't removed when improving them?
elotar  [author] 17 Jun, 2019 @ 3:42am
I've published an experimental Social Policies rebalance mod. You may like it:

I've published a new mod, which makes guilds less, imo, stupid and fixes other inconsistencies in specialists and great peoples. You may be interested:

New version uploaded with slight changes to Plantations and removed Lumber Mill changes (I've found more elegant solution - check my Early Eras Fix mod ;) ) .

DO NOT UPGRADE UNTIL FINISHING CURRENT GAME!

@Bird - they are giving food, it worth more than gold in civ ;)
BGBird 27 Dec, 2018 @ 7:30am
Sugar and salt back in the past were worth more than gold and only the richest could afford them. At least add +1 gold to it.
elotar  [author] 24 Nov, 2018 @ 10:06pm
@Indiaman, they was even making dentures from gold :P
Indiaman_At_Sea 24 Nov, 2018 @ 7:35am
what am I paying for
darn expensive dentist
taking half the national treasury
elotar  [author] 23 Nov, 2018 @ 8:32pm
@indiaman let's think that it gives gold, but then you need to spend it on dentist ;)
Indiaman_At_Sea 23 Nov, 2018 @ 7:33am
I'd say sugar gives two gold, two food, and an extra food when you improve. Sugar was a big trading item, so I think it'd be okay to add the gold.

Oooh! okay! Cool!
elotar  [author] 23 Oct, 2018 @ 5:38am
@Zero, it's 3 gold unimproved, 4 gold improved :)
Sin 23 Oct, 2018 @ 3:47am
I cant tell which wayy is the change, sorry if its silly question... ie Gold GGG – G
Is it going from one gold to triple gold or 3 gold to one?
seedee 23 Oct, 2018 @ 3:15am
Yeah, I mostly get my hold from specialists and trade routes.
elotar  [author] 23 Oct, 2018 @ 2:27am
@cd5, I'm just now playing an Atilla game, struggling terribly with economy, even sometimes have to work market specialists to not be forced to disband units. Having so much fun with it. :)
MC Anters 22 Oct, 2018 @ 9:56am
I love the ideas leading up to more production. I've always liked games that can handle lots of units being created.
seedee 22 Oct, 2018 @ 8:23am
I know about pearls, incense, gems, etc but I don't always start near any of that sadly
elotar  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 11:19pm
@cd5 actually, there are now +3/4 gold resources. You should consider it when choosing your early victims. ;)
Commandertoblow 21 Oct, 2018 @ 4:02pm
I lauged so hard at bannanas cant be improved LOL ROFL
seedee 21 Oct, 2018 @ 5:43am
Yep, I use this mod most of the time unless I'm playing domination victory. Plantations are known to be farms for "cash crops" and in civ, they serve as a source of gold. I pretty much always go into negative gpt early to mid game when getting rid of my neighbours, this mod makes it worse in that regard.
elotar  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 4:31am
@Fox, just try it once, and you won't be able to return to the basic game after it ;)
MeChFox 20 Oct, 2018 @ 12:19am
this makes no SENCE
seedee 18 Oct, 2018 @ 2:00pm
yes, fam
elotar  [author] 18 Oct, 2018 @ 9:52am
@Animasouloss, thanks.

As of idea of buffing units - I'm planing a bigger combat balance mod where such approach will be used with strategic resources. They are spread kind of equally so it may work. With luxuries this is not so good an idea - they are usually spread in clusters, so it will give unfair bonuses to somebody at random.
Anima Sol 18 Oct, 2018 @ 8:18am
I don't know why the phrase "Bananas cannot be improved" made me laughe so hard, but it did.

Grimwar may have a point, what if you treated some resource like a combat buff. Like how when you find a wonder and it adds a perk to that unit. Or what if you some unit gets ether a movement or combat buff to start off? Bowman that do more damage to mounted unit? Copper tip arrows for more damage?

That being said, great mod.

I cant find the mod in the "modlist"! HELP:steamsad:
elotar  [author] 17 Oct, 2018 @ 10:25pm
@cd5, "fam"?
elotar  [author] 17 Oct, 2018 @ 10:24pm
@Silverfish - obviously, food is the most important resource in this game.
elotar  [author] 17 Oct, 2018 @ 10:21pm
@Grimwar - copper now gives production, so it improves combat ability just fine - you can build more ancient era units with it ;)
seedee 17 Oct, 2018 @ 5:35pm
Add more resources fam
Silverfishv9 17 Oct, 2018 @ 5:01pm
You seem to REALLY like food
The Grimwar 17 Oct, 2018 @ 10:19am
I think copper should improve the combat ability of ancient era units.
Jeppi02 17 Oct, 2018 @ 6:51am
ok
