@everyones :
Here is 3dx max playing an animation that my program has extracted from Rome2:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcJI_DM-BR4

I have finally gotten animations OUT of Total War games, so people can edit them and put them back in the game My program RigidModel Editor 1.0, that can do those things will be released as soon as correct the last few bugs. It can do lots of thingd, including drawing the models with textures, lighting normal mapping, so they look like in-game.

everyone: have finished the Dei Campaign Camera SubMod:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1760624445

You have to switch the vanilla Campaign Cam mod off, when you use this, because the vanille one can change the behaviour of DeI in a bad way. That is why is made a special mode for DeI.

Please try it :)

Updated camera mods, adjusted battle camera and fixed campaign camera

The campaign camera mod has been updated so it works without any issues for the following campaigns:

- Grand Campaign
- Imperator Augustus
- Cæsar in Gaul
- Empire Divided
- Rise of The Republic

All shield in the Ausgustan/Cæsarian army has been redrawn in a much high resolution. It looks really cool:

@everyone: Demo picture of my new shield mod, many shields are not done so there is a lot of "repeating" going on. (much more variation in finished version)

But it actually RUNS now, so I COULD upload it as beta maybe...?

@everyone: Here are some IN-GAME demo pictures of my upcoming shield mod:
It is the plan to change ALL shields, and make 2 versions, one for people with lots of Video RAM, and on for people with less.

(Best one-:) )

New barbarian cities: (very different from this one)
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1700679164
phazer  [author] 19 Mar, 2019 @ 2:55pm
I have made a new Total War modding tool (in C++):
*** Rigid Model NotePad **** (string editor for .rigid_model_v2 files)
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=4417
It can edit texture files names and internal folders, tasks that normally require a hex editor and a LOT of patience. With this tool you can change textures for models very quickly.
phazer  [author] 8 Mar, 2019 @ 2:07pm
thanks :)

@phazer
Excellent work, once more!

Cheers,

phazer  [author] 4 Mar, 2019 @ 5:25am
I will try, But first I need to find a Substance Painter texture export that works in-game.
BenVenom 28 Feb, 2019 @ 8:36pm
I agree. Def the 'barbarians'. The Romans and Greeks get most of the love in this game, so I think the barbs should have some more effort put into them. The Celts (generally speaking) have a HUGE presence on the campaign map. Besides them, there are so many other peoples considered 'barbarians' in the game with their own distinct appearances and variations. The Germanics, Scythians/Sarmations, Illyrians, Thracians, Dacians, Iberins, etc. They have a lot to offer and are often overlooked. Maybe if more was put into these guys, people might be more interested in them. Thats why I really appreciate this mod. For that matter, I would be interested in seeing if you have any ideas for the kind of boring looking settlments for the Nomad factions. Currently they have these hut settlement models. Anyhow I love your work, phazer! Looking forward to seeing whatever you come up with.
hell_on 25 Feb, 2019 @ 12:57pm
Definitely barbarians me, maybe ones to suit the style of these cities or maybe SPARTANS!!!
phazer  [author] 14 Feb, 2019 @ 9:40pm
@everone: I am currently working on the textures of the armor and shields of the soldiers, making 2K HD textures for them all, what soliders and what gear, from which campaign (Grand Campaign/Cæsar/Augustus, ROTR, Empire Divided, etc.) do YOU think I should start with?
Which soliders are the most important? It is going to be a very long process, so I wish to start with the ones that most people want upgraded. It not even sure, that I will finish this massive project, but I at least want to try :)
Peacemen 10 Feb, 2019 @ 3:28pm
can you make like this in attila?
phazer  [author] 10 Feb, 2019 @ 3:18am
ScipioTheGreat: Because people should be able to choose which barbarian cities they want, these or the old ones :)
Scipio 9 Feb, 2019 @ 12:19pm
So why isnt this in the main mod yet? XD
Peacemen 8 Feb, 2019 @ 6:57pm
it feels like romanized barbarian cities.
Imadisaster 8 Feb, 2019 @ 6:25pm
@Phazer: I personally like the Roof Tiles better, but most people might not like it because its "historically inaccurate." If it isnt too much of a problem, would you be able to release it sepearate?
hell_on 8 Feb, 2019 @ 1:57pm
This is one of the best and most good looking mods I've seen for Rome 2 and the fact it's still being updated just adds to the greatness of the mod
8-The-General-8 8 Feb, 2019 @ 7:07am
Nice little mod : ) Ta!
phazer  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 6:07am
@everyone: Is it better now or with the historically inaccurate roof tiles?
☠ĐáℝҜ ẤңǤẸĻ☠ 8 Feb, 2019 @ 5:53am
Top mod)👍
phazer  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 4:14am
@everyone: I have changed the VERY historically inaccurate orange terracotta tiled roofs with thatched roofs which are much more realistic for the period.
Examples are in the 2 first preview pictures. I you want me to change it back I will of course.

I have also added a normal map, so one can see fx "ins and out"/bumps on the stonework and other textures, making the look much more detailed.
phazer  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 3:25am
hell_on: You are NOT annoying, of course I support my mods :) ask away :) As for your question, yes you can start using it in the middle of a campaign, as it only replaces textures and those have no impact on game mechanics and therefore not on saved games, so just you try it :)

You can also try this other mod that replaces ALL the city types (Greek/Roman, Barbarian and Eastern):
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1515544433

It has different Barbarian city textures, so you can choose if want those textures by disabling this mod but keeping the other mod enabled, or if you want to use these new textures by having BOTH mods enabled, and that can be used in the middle of a campaign:)

Hope that helps....
hell_on 7 Feb, 2019 @ 10:49pm
And (sorry if I'm being annoying) if I was to turn this mod on, half way through a campaign, would it work?
phazer  [author] 7 Feb, 2019 @ 9:00am
It does not change the battle map, only the campaign map.
hell_on 7 Feb, 2019 @ 7:44am
What's it like on the battle map though?
phazer  [author] 7 Feb, 2019 @ 2:25am
shawndw1000 : I know very well, as I wrote earlier, but some think it looks better.... the Germanic peoples did not use marble before around 600 AD, but they DID use some other types of stones, whatever was at hand for their MAJOR fortifications both early and late in the roman era.
SDW1000 7 Feb, 2019 @ 2:02am
Historically inaccurate. They didn't use stone and marble. That's more of a medieval thing.
phazer  [author] 6 Feb, 2019 @ 3:01pm
Thank you very much for, saying that,,,,,:)
both of you
@Exotic 6 Feb, 2019 @ 2:46pm

This is GREAT! :lunar2019grinningpig:
phazer  [author] 5 Feb, 2019 @ 4:25pm
Captn Crazy : Yes,. but you can easily do that, by using this mod
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1515544433&tscn=1549404378

It has straw and wood in HD, it is just some people prefer the barbarians to have stone in their cities even though it is not historically accurate. But it LOOKS good.
10 APM 5 Feb, 2019 @ 4:06pm
I am sorry but as a german i can tell you that my glorious ancestors did build their houses out of straw and shit, which is exactly what they look like in vanilla. I therefore submit a petition to change the germanic cities back to beautiful straw and dung.
Thank you.
phazer  [author] 5 Feb, 2019 @ 1:58pm
OJS 9: I can, but then the old Barbarian HD cities will be replaced with these.
OSST 5 Feb, 2019 @ 1:48pm
Great Mod
Can you put this in your all in one mod
Brane De Mage 4 Feb, 2019 @ 3:08pm
I'm not playing Rome2 at this time, but I can add it to my faves for later on, I feel it would look well for the illyrian cities since they're kind of barbarians who take inspiration from greeks. And yeah I gave it a thumbs up, hope it helps a little bit.
phazer  [author] 4 Feb, 2019 @ 3:02pm
@everyone, you who use the mod all the time those who like it, can't you click the "thumbs up" button, please? I have 2 "not like" votes and around 46 positive ones, so I need a lot more "thumps up" of to get 5 stars, so please click the "thumps up" button?
phazer  [author] 4 Feb, 2019 @ 2:57pm

Very cool! This will be great to enable for when I expand into africa and the middle-east! The cities will fit in a little better with the desert landscape, y'know?
It looks great, Thumbs Up! :D
Svetabily 4 Feb, 2019 @ 1:54am
ohoooo its cool
phazer  [author] 3 Feb, 2019 @ 9:57pm
@everyone: Most importantly I enable DSR (1.20x-4.0x) in Nvidia Control Panel (or the AMD equivalent), and that enables you to set the game resolution (from within the game) up to fx 2560×1440 or higher even if you only have say a 1920x1080 monitor. That makes the picture a LOT better BECAUSE the internal rendering resolution is higher. It gives the effect of a very advanced Anti Aliasing (AA), and simply looks great. In resolutions higher than 1440p (on a 1080ti) it is starting to have an effect on perfomance, but you CAN go a bit higher. In any case set the resolution higher than your monitor's max resolution.
phazer  [author] 3 Feb, 2019 @ 8:30pm
I also used my own close zoom mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1519929632
