Oof, this is an overkill, especially for smaller maps. I'll try the 5 tile version.

The Colosseum uses a different ranging system than the SoL, it's the same as all the other building types so it works just fine. That damn SoL is just a really special snowflake. 😝
ChrisMartin 7 Mar, 2019 @ 8:23am
Have you also disabled Colosseum range modifier?
_Zee  [author] 7 Mar, 2019 @ 7:36am
Just posted an update that corrects a bug that was preventing many features of the mod from working. Everything is working as intended now except for the Statue of Liberty range and unit update. They are temporarily disabled until I figure out a workaround.

wow thx m8 that was fast
_Zee  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 9:44pm
The 5 Tile version is now available! New game requirement still applies.
_Zee  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 8:30pm
So the feedback has been pretty unanimous, and I actually like 5 more now having tested it out.
I'll be posting a second mod that will be identical to this one with the one exception of Minimum City Distance set to (5) vs. (6).

The mod this comment is attached to will remain as is, so that those who either want to finish running saves before switching and/or just prefer 6 tiles over 5 can continue to use the mod hassle-free.
BKGamesPI 2 Mar, 2019 @ 8:18pm
I will try this on Huge map with less civs and report back, it will prob be just fine at that size with 10 civs 10 cs
BKGamesPI 2 Mar, 2019 @ 8:07pm
@Binargod how do you do that?
BKGamesPI 2 Mar, 2019 @ 8:04pm
I would love to have 5 also, 6 can't get even 3 city on Deity down large map only 8 civs 10 CS
BINARYGOD 2 Mar, 2019 @ 6:18pm
If you like 5 better than 6, you can open one of the files and change the min to 5 and change nothing else and it still works and is properly balanced. I like to go back and forth. :-)
KrossRoad 2 Mar, 2019 @ 3:04pm
I'm definitely a fan of this mod. However I think 5 sounds better to me, than 6.
White Shadow 2 Mar, 2019 @ 2:38pm
By the way, I have a question for the author. Does the increased loyalty pressure distance work, when each tile is -10% effective? Or do tiles 10-12 just remain at 10% pressure?
Alejandro 2 Mar, 2019 @ 2:24pm
A buff to Japan and Germany would be nice, so that one city center surrounded by 6 districts is about as good as a clump of 2.5 cities
White Shadow 2 Mar, 2019 @ 2:24pm
For what it's worth, I enjoy 6 distance, even though I am sure I am in the minority. If you do reduce the distance, please please PLEASE keep 6 distance an option, and release a 5 distance in a separate mod. <3
ObiWanChronobi 2 Mar, 2019 @ 1:21pm
I think 4 or 5 would be better as well. Was talking with a friend about this and he brought up the point that while you do compensate wonder tiles for this, Civs like Germany and Japan which rely on compact city placement to group districts really get hurt with this mod.
_Zee  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 1:06pm
I've looked into the worked tile distance and haven't found anything yet. Checked all the usual places so unless its hidden in some obscure file, its likely hard-coded.

I'm going to play a full game on my end using 5 instead of 6 to see how it feels (and update my screenshot if necessary). That will probably take a few days, so feel free to keep giving feedback on 5 tiles vs. 6 in the meantime.
Alejandro 2 Mar, 2019 @ 10:39am
do you have any map recommendation for true earth start that allows for such a mod to exist, also would you consider making 4 and 5 radius versions of this mod?
icerunner5326 2 Mar, 2019 @ 9:55am
I was thinking 4 or 5, unless it's possible to increase the radius at which a city can place districts and assign workers?
Raavi 2 Mar, 2019 @ 4:11am
I think 5 is better aswell
_Zee  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 12:58am
Some good points are being made... I'm considering dropping the minimum city distance from 6 to 5.
How would all the current users feel about that?
Zero 2 Mar, 2019 @ 12:51am
Is it possible to adjust the minimum distance from 6 to 5? Just so that cross districting between cities becomes a lttle more viable? I use Detailed worlds and Larger map sizes, on the small continents scheme on massive sized maps, being able to squeeze the correct city radii usually means 5-6 tiles apart, usually a little bit of cannibalism is actually helpful with civs like Japan that get bonuses from district adjacency, or Inca that want to take advantage of a mountain labyrinth.
Orionox 2 Mar, 2019 @ 12:04am
Does the mod also increase the distance that citizens can work tiles? or is that still capped at three? meaning we'd have like 3 tiles buffers of unworkable land around each city?
_Zee  [author] 1 Mar, 2019 @ 12:47pm
@Orionox
This will absolutely improve turn times, and the effect is greater the bigger the map.

@JakobieJones
Yes, in fact the P51 now has one more tile of range than the standard Fighter. Vanilla gave it -2 tiles of range compared to the Fighter for some bizarre reason.
JakobieJones 1 Mar, 2019 @ 7:46am
Does the fighter range increase affect America's p51?
AngryCupcake 1 Mar, 2019 @ 5:45am
holy smokes this mod is amazing! thank you so much!
Orionox 1 Mar, 2019 @ 1:40am
This would likely improve turn times and such on giant maps wouldn't it?
n3ctaris 28 Feb, 2019 @ 2:12pm
@Kuroi.Kitsune, whoops! I missed that you were talking only about city states... not all cities. :P
KrumStrashni 28 Feb, 2019 @ 11:44am
@Elhoim Yes. This is true about the range of worked tiles. Also hard-coded.
Kuroi.Kitsune 28 Feb, 2019 @ 10:49am
@n3ctaris I asked because there is only a global setting.
Elhoim 28 Feb, 2019 @ 9:48am
@KrumStrashni What can't be changed is the distance that city tiles can be worked, which would be AWESOME.

The main "issue" with this is that tiles outside the city range, but not covered by other cities are mostly useless. You can have luxury and strategic resources, some unworked farms that help with adjacency, plant trees and now in GS power plants seem to add the power to the city even if they are not worked.

It's interesting, though, as it can create a nice "nature" buffer between cities.
n3ctaris 28 Feb, 2019 @ 8:25am
@Zee, do you take mod requests? I have one that is a frankenstein of several others... but there is one component i cant get working and it would be nice if it was all packaged up into a single mod. Was hoping you could help, as you seem to have a handle on Civ 6 modding.
n3ctaris 28 Feb, 2019 @ 8:23am
Holy Moly! I have been playing with just the distance changed from 3 to 4... and that feels like it can be hard to place down more than 3-4 cities before the whole continent is crowded out. 6 tiles will make the game very tall.... but i do like the compensation on all the 'pressure' stuff, which is what is is missing from most other 'more distance between cities' mods.

@kuroi.Kitsune, you should be able to change the settings in the mod file itself. Most of the change you can make are pretty self explanatory, recommend you use something like Notepad++ to open the files.
KrumStrashni 28 Feb, 2019 @ 5:36am
Do you have an idea how to change the city range? I think I is hard-coded. I play with larger ranges for later naval units too, but that really leaves cities unprotected.
Kuroi.Kitsune 28 Feb, 2019 @ 3:25am
Thanks, I was missing this type of settings for my enormous maps.
Quick question - is it possible to adjust the distance limit for City states to be lower? Around 4 spaces?
