- Depends a lot on the User technique to ATK and DEF
Second, to a effective Penetration of Plates or Chains you should consider the type of weapon, a Spike and Blade don't be the same, for example Spears needs Weight and Acceleration to penetrate by a fine spike, a Sharp Edge is a secundary Factor, but a broad blade needs cut so Kogarasu (Double edged Katana) would be more effective dealing damage throught Armored enemies cause the Double Edge produces more Stress on armor by stab.
- Curve Blades don't contribute (Stab)(exist some design exceptions)
- One Sharp Edge don't contribute (Stab)
- Light Weight don't contribute (Stab and Hit)
That's not true at all, the Katana realistically speaking isn't that great at fighting plate armor or going through armor.
Real Life they were intended more to fight non-armored opponents or lightly armored ones. Against plated armor irl the Katana isn't good at all. Would have to attack via the in-betweens of the plated armor. You'd have a better time hurting the person wearing plated armor with a spear or a blunt weapon.

(and shortclevers) when?
Swords of any type were not really weapons of war, they were more symbolic, unlike spears and polearms, as well as bows. But swords could be used for coup de grace and duelling. Kenshi fights are mainly skirmishes without armies and troops, swords fit perfectly within this type of combat. Besides Kenshi is a imaginary world and normal rules need not apply and as such realism goes out of the window.
which one is realistic?
Seems like you are looking for damage/bleeding overhaul mod. You can try this one:

the 10% bonus to humans is laughable and gets completely eaten by the armour pierce penalty
enemies that aren't heavily armored are no issue with very few exceptions anyway so this kind of annoys me
the mod seems decent to not completely screw balance (on the other hand we got martial arts vanilla being completely broken so no big issue I guess)
REALISTIC IS JUST THE NAME I BRANDED WITH MY MODS, THEY AREN'T ALL NECESSARILY REALISTIC. I STARTED WITH ARMOR MODS CHANGING THE COVERAGE TO BE REALISTIC, AND THEN EVEN SOME BUFFS AND DE-BUFFS TO BE MORE REALISTIC. OTHER TIMES IT IS JUST NOW ACTUALLY BETTER AND A BETTER CHOICE OVER VANILLA SUCH AS THIS MOD. AN EXAMPLE IS MY REALISTIC MARTIAL ARTIST BINDINGS MOD - THEY USED TO BE COMPLETELY USELESS AND NOW THEY ARE ACTUALLY USEFUL. THEY GO BY REALISTIC MARTIAL ARTISIT BINDINGS BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT MY MODS WERE ORIGINALLY BRANDED AS.
Hope this helps everyone :)
*However*... Most, if not *all* armor in Keishi leaves exposed areas. Even the high-end samurai armor has no protection on the belly and throat areas. So this mod *does* make sense if we consider that katana-wielding characters are actually targeting those spots.
Id appreciate it! :)
