I'm not sure how to edit volume, these packs simply remove the .wem and associated sound files. I think it should be possible, but the sounds would have to be extracted into a sound editor then repackaged. Not sure this is available via freeware and would probably require sound editing software.

Yeah I agree with BOT

Instead of completely remove,Can you please turn down the volume of these sounds?

i hope it removes strange crackling sound in battles when you zoom its soo annoying as it does not happen all the time but most of the time which ruins this game experience.

why not remove the diplomatic voices? I can't play the game anymore because all the "barbarian" races sound like cartoons

This mod should remove "attack" sounds.
Fallen1 2 Feb, 2021 @ 3:25pm
Question does this remove the horn sound every time you click a unit to attack anything?

This mod has earned a permanent spot in my load order. It removes all the annoying/repetitive button sounds and UI effects that makes the game feel too video-gamey. With this mod on, the game both in terms of campaign and battle feels more cinematic and immersive

Awesome work, it's definitely more peaceful!

I'd like to make a request please: may we have a version that only removes a few certain lines? I personally prefer having the battle banter but there are some lines that do get really annoying (I've seen graveyard whores blah blah blah) and (stop that screaming (as a dude burns alive)).

I understand it'd probably be a lot of work but I figured I try and ask. Thank you for taking the time to upload your mods.

Did not remove any ambient noise, only the more obnoxious UI indicators. Backup your native files and try it out.

WOW!
Less is definitly more!
It is indeed much more immersive without the clangs and those. Its more serene, you hear the faint background sounds better, and is an overall much much improved expirience. Try it out folks

Yeah video explanation is needed.

video pls!!!

The description is a bit confusing, to me it reads like you took out all the ambient noises from campaign map, you know, the clicks and wave crashes, etc... that's why I wrote what I wrote.
But now that you explained it better, will definitely try the mod out.

Kaak.... yes, some temples (not all) on the Campaign Map have chanting priests, you can hear them chanting something if you zoom in close enough.

It becomes immersive through the removal of distractions.
E 9 May, 2019 @ 8:09pm
So this is not "immersive" sound, this is "removal" of sound?

Will try to get a few demo videos up but would welcome this from any subscribers as well.
Reno 9 May, 2019 @ 1:00pm
Yep, video please?

Well its certainly a step in the right direction, i had a crack at modifying sound files way back when i was making my music mods but never got em to work.
Tordenskjold 9 May, 2019 @ 2:16am
Need a sample video please!

Chanting priests in RII?
MINOS 4 May, 2019 @ 2:37pm
CA only gave us the Project File for Music - i dont know if Sounds work with that.

Thanks for the Effort.
Brado  [author] 4 May, 2019 @ 2:07pm
I tried that method initially, but it causes faults, so the .bnk files have to be deleted out of the main directory. I'm not aware of any other way to mod sound. This was after I manually unpacked and listened to about 1000 .wem files only to find that method doesn't work.
MINOS 4 May, 2019 @ 12:41am
So, you unpacked the *.wem Files, listened to them, and deleted the unwanted Files, so that we have to overwrite it?
Poor Solution sadly, but if it doesnt work otherwise, ill guess well have to live with it.

Anyways, nice Idea and thanks - will give it a Try and report back!

That's not at all what this mod does and it's obvious you haven't tried it.

This mod does not remove the ambient noise. It removes the click/alert/activate noises so that the ambient noises are more noticeable.

Why take away one of the better parts of the campaign experience? you're literally taking away from the ambience and atmosphere of the game...
I actually play without any music on and zoomed in on the campaign map, JUST so I could experience the noises and be more immersed into the game.
And there are some really neat things to explore and experience with those sounds,,, for example just last month I discovered that certain temples on the campaign map contain Chanting Priests...
never noticed that and I been playing Rome since release
