Excellent!
good:
zed spawning has improved. its now intense, but not annoying. zeds wont fall on your head but there's still a good level of tension to be had.
the lower area is better thanks to the new entrances and exits added
zeds will clutter sometimes, but classes like gunslinger and sharpshooter can actually stand a chance thanks to the improvements. its nowhere near as bad as before.
one downside:
the king fleshpound got stuck again but he managed to free himself this time
* New area connecting the overflow trench with the back alley, expanding the map size slightly by adding a small indoors maintenance area.
* ZED spawn time cooldown has been slightly increased (up from 7 seconds to 10) globally across the map, resulting in slightly less aggressive spawns. Spawns above ground have been greatly increased to prevent ZEDs raining down on players too frequently.
* Multiple unintentional camping spots where players could hide from ZEDs have been fixed to prevent exploits.
* Two previous dead ends where players could get boxed in and easily killed have been kitted out with ramps that can be used to more easily escape.
* Several crucial player movement optimizations, fixing areas where you could previously get stuck. In addition, several invisible "ramps" have been added to further smoothen out movement.
* Numerous minor static shadowmap fixes and draw distance optimizations.
Absolutely awesome bug reporting! Thanks a ton for taking the time to do screenshots and everything. All of those spots, plus a few others, have been fixed and will be in the upcoming 1.1 update.
@MrRogersBestNeighbor
Very weird, I'm sorry to hear that. I did find some blocking volumes with weird collision - those have been fixed in 1.1, not sure if they could have potentially caused crashes for your game.
UHC: I'll look into tuning the spawns a bit. They are quite aggressive, I'll agree. Will also look into the ambulance issue, thanks.
Pokerman: Do you remember where the exploit spot was?
-looks good and map isn't too large
-decent ammo box placement
-hold you ground zones
Bad:
-"aggressive" zed spawning. that doesn't indicate that they fall from the sky and right on top of you. I thought I was just running slower than i should be at first. This also causes zeds to cluster together, so classes like sharpshooter and gunslinger just get their a**es kicked in single player.
-The only way to avoid fleshpounds falling right in front of you is to go to the bottom area of the map. aggressive and annoying are two different things.
-one of the bosses (king fleshpound) got stuck on an ambulance. though to be fair, this wouldnt be the first time hes gotten stuck on a random place on a map before.
Also thanks for the bug report, smbrr, I will have that fixed for patch 1.1, along with a few other extras.
There is a spot between the red trader pod and the yellow car that holds it where you can get stuck in mid-air and impossible to move. See picture here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561197984081348/screenshot/791984229331470917
