It's kind of coming along in my head :
- Base spec related to tribes (Blood god & Conflux) will now allow to recruit tribe troops from the start of the game
- I will have to add the 4 other tribes as baseline spec- Miracle court, Kukulcan, Arachna, Wildkeepers
- Tribe units will require traditional military upgrades to be produced; this will help AI using them a bit more
- Big, big item rebalance & additions (full rework + many many new items, with a good chunk related to Tribes that you can get only by clearing a tribe set)

Great to hear Mug ! Yeah I am kinda back and would like to fix various stuff on current mods, bugs & some balancing iterations, and I also have some stuff in my pockets that I am preparing but I cannot say more for the moment ^^

@Ayalin: Great to see an update yesterday- we actually thought the mod was dead. We are still playing it, now sending both AoW4 and "an Ayalin turn" PBEM-style to each other.

We did make a gentleman-rule that no human player heroes or leaders are allowed to take the Ghoul Curse ability, as it "produces" high level troops faster than all our cities can build them (see the old comments below). With this small correction all the 10 Ayalin-expansions combined makes for a valuable life extension of AoW3.

A continued big thank you for lots of fun gaming nights in that regard!

No - the Fallen Prince + Wraith is nice, but certainly no gamebreaker.

We are still playing without Necromancers though (restarting games where one of us randomly draws one), due to the power of Ghoul curse - see earlier dialogue, below..

Actually I believe the hero gains no exp when metamorphosed (but it's worth testing I am not totally sure). The metamorphosis on the other hand can level up during the battle.

Incarnation of despair is super powerful.
But my concern is the metamorphosed hero can gain experience over the hero level limitation rule :steamfacepalm:

Sounds great! We found an additional unpleasant necro combo with Fallen Princes and Wraiths with Life Steal, roaming the map as highly mobile armies in front of the Troop-absorbing heavy armies ;-)

And yes let's go for -> "Lesser" Ghoul curse which would affect only T1-T2 replacing current Ghoul curse, and I will push back the current Ghoul curse to higher levels.
And both will not work on mind controled units.

Sounds good to me! It's kinda funny because I play necro myself a lot and not use Ghoul curse that much, as I feel rushing Banshee summon supported by T2 racial/class support is already crazy good.
And I really love the Dark knight path haha.

Hi Ayalin.

Yes, we actually even dropped a bunch of mods to get the "true Ayalin experience" as it was meant to be ;-)

I think the idea of Ghoul curse only working on T1 and T2 would make a good balance option - the necros would still be swarming the map, but with less powerful units, so there is a counter to that. As it is now, it is almost unnecessary to build troops as necro, but this would also bring the two otherwise wonderful T3 necro troops back into the game. It might actually strike a more fun balance than making it just a one-shot item.
One might even consider creating a like level 15 hero upgrade of Ghoul curse where T3s are then re-introduced to ghoul curse (Ghoul Damnation/Ghoul Plague, perhaps? :)), when it would no longer be a big disruption to the game. Excellent idea!

And as always: Thank you so much for keeping the magical world of AoW alive, while we wait another year for AoW4 to mature :-)

Hello Mug; actually glad to hear that some ppl play with my serie of mod on competitive PBEM!

So first thing first- with or without my mods, in my opinion Necromancer is certainly one of the strongest if not the strongest class in the game. I took care when doing this mod to actually give to necro less "power" than what I did for other classes, but you are making good points;

- +1 to make the ghoul curse not working on mind controled unit.
- What would you think of making the hero ghoul curse ability to work only on tiers I and tiers II units? (could affect the unit ability as well btw).

Shame there is not some kind of replay system, would have been curious to see how players are interacting with my stuff.

Playing the Tribe mod including the Necromancer mod. The Ghoul Curse ability seems extremely overpowered in competitve PBEM games, mostly due to:
1) The fact that the hero/deathbringer has a chance to apply this to every troop that it is up against
2) The Necromancer mod has several powers that reduces resistance and adds holy weakness
3) The fact that even units with Immunity to Mind Control can be converted, which otherwise normally bars the conversion of Tier 4 and some Tier 3 troops.

As it is now, necromancer leaders can simply create their own free armies out of units they have fought, with units much more capable than they can produce themselves. We have found no strategy to counter this - the necromancers are invincible.
We play only with the Premium Tribe mod and the required sub-mods, and with randomly distributed leaders.
Any plans on making this ability an active, one-use ability, and make Immunity to Mind Control units immune to Ghoul Curse?

Quick note to @Shar Dundred if you are still around- I think there is a way to have a dispel spell useable on the strategical layer. I will add it to the Premium specialisation and it will be unlocked with the same tech you unlock the tactical dispel skill.

perhaps changing it to spirit resistance could work better (more often then not you don't need blight resistance unless you are dealing with goblins or something and spirit Resistance is helpful as an undead or not because of the fact that there's a class that has that as there specialty)

yeah there are two blight resistance in the archlich path, it's not great. I should change it to something else as it's not useful at all unless you are maybe using the necro hero as a secondary hero (if it's your starting class they become undead anyway so it's useless).

I noticed a glitch if you chose not to get blight Resistance then get one of the paths (I think it was archlich) you get another choice to get blight resistance making it possible to choose blight resistance twice even if the person is undead

hmm I am not sure; if I make it better for necro, it makes it weaker for all the other as undead and living units are not always affected by the same things. Ideally the unit could be transformed in the well of soul but it only works for regular units.

I'm not 100% sure if it's the reason, but my hero died with resurgence but got converted to a cadaver thanks to skeleton puppeteer and I think it might've caused a crash after the combat ended ? That's what THINK happened but I don't have a good log file from the situation

also If a unit have melancholia and get turn into a ghoul or cadaver in battle. The debuff will carry over to the transformed units, bypass the normal rule. Which is kinda suck :(

I kinda like the idea of having status which last after battle ended; base game has a very few, but not that much. I would like to try first to keep the intended design and adds a different counterplay before considering changing the initial design.

I have updated the mod and did not spot any issues with this new version (I tested the death of your leader while transformed, it's okay when he respawns he is back to its normal form lol).
You can update safely even if a game is in progress, it should not cause any issues. Let me know if you find anything else and thank you again for spotting the bug vlad.

And it seems that Transformation can work on heroes but it should last up until the end of the battle. I may want to investigate a bit more though, like what happens exactly if your leader die while being transformed for example.

Re Vladmanvillage,
So I have investigated the crash and it's a 100% reproduction bug rate so it's pretty serious actually. I believe the game is not able to find back all the hero properties, and the detransform feature should not be used on heroes. I will remove the ability to detransform after using the ability and gives the unit a few more stuff to make up for it (certainly regrowth & a few move points, why not phase as well)

I am not too surprised for the explosive toxic death title, because it actually use the Corpse furia targeter (because it's the same effect). I can still do something about it.

I found two bugs.

>Incarnation of Despair: Open Hero/Leader's unit panel after using Incarnation's "phase" ability, Crash it.
I can't found cause of this bug, sorry.

>Infused Cadaver's Toxic Death: If Cadavers on death, Explosion all corpses on the battlefield.
Cause is "Corpse Furia Targeter" inside "Explosive toxic death ability".

I'm not native English languages. Can you reading this? (Paralyzed with Fear)

Thank you for the info. And i checked that the mod that did what you said was the "evolve" one, in this case. I deadactivated it and the tech worked correctly. Just finished testing it. Oh well. Thank you for your time and trouble and sharing of knowledge!!! ( i guess this confict can happen with any mod that changes the same data or/and uses default values changed by smt else... I ll keep it properly in mind.)

No worries, I checked on my side, and thedata is correct but if it can help you the broken link should concern the "Bone collector requisite" that I added to the bone collector unit when doing the mod. Because this requiste was not existing on the base unit, what is extremely likely is that a another mod modifies the bone collector unit in any way with a higher priority, which means the requisite does not exist anymore on the unit (so the tech does not work).

I am almost certain its not in your end. I just cant put the chronological order when every mod was downloaded and used. And not every game was with necro. I use all your mods plus some big ones are chivarlous intentions,evolve, and deluxe specialization which i do Very Carefully Use. I don't want a necromancer,theocrat, sorcerer smt.... Hideous stuff.. Aside the joking, thank you for your responce. I ll try to debug on my end and i ll post when/if i find the problem. Thanks!

Heyy thank you very much antvas for the kind words, so this specific bug was not reported to me and I do believe it's certainly a mod compatibility issue. I will do a quick data check on my side (who knows maybe I made a mistake on my last update), but there is certainly another mod modifying files which break the tech. In this case, a decent way to spot it is to do a quick game and save it just right before the research is completed, then deactivate your mods one by one (start by the most likely to affect undead files) and check each time if it changes something.
