Can I copy-modify this as part of my upcoming Machine Cult mod? I want this to be the sworn enemy of Adeptus Mechanicus everywhere.

Your mod is now supported by The Merger of Rules .
Inny 28 Feb, 2021 @ 7:44am
It will, thank you.

I had taken a couple months long break from Stellaris, so some of my mods were/are outdated.

As per your request, I have added a global flag now: m_jihad_enabled
I hope it's still useful for you two weeks after you asked for it. :-s
Inny 14 Feb, 2021 @ 4:47am
Hi, can you set up a global flag for this mod so I can detect it for a compatibility patch please?
Thanks.
Crazy Old Texan 15 Sep, 2020 @ 1:43pm
Love all the Dune stuff. Thanks for this.

In terms of origin vs. locked civic, what might make sense is this:
- Leave the civic as-is, with all the diplomacy and war options/limitations.
- Add an origin that reflects what the homeworld might look like after defeating an AI uprising, maybe with special "scrapped robot" deposits or something, or even spawning a hostile "refugee" AI empire out in space somewhere, and suggest that it's designed to be paired with the Butlerian Jihad civic without explicitly requiring it.

This allows players to do both, have the background of defeating an AI uprising and going on to want to destroy all AI as a result, but also choose the background without the civic (maybe they reacted in a different way...) or the civic without the background (maybe they hate AI for completely different reasons?).

The idea was: Because society and unity are associated with the temple building, associated with the spiritualist ethic. Just an economic boost to counter the significant loss of growth due to lack of robots.

The mod still works for 2.6.

I am currently testplaying a game where, besides the civic, I've also added the Jihadists as an origin as an alternative. I'll leave in both options, origin and civic, to allow freedom of choice on how to customize your empire. If I encounter no problems, I'll release one of these days.

To come back to your earlier point, I have in fact removed the doubled society research from the mod. The reason being that you can now build an infinite number of temples on a planet, so leaving in doubled society research may be a bit overpowered.
Robert E.O. Speedwagon 12 Apr, 2020 @ 3:53pm
I'm a bit confused why it doubles society research. Does it still work with the new version?
Crazy Old Texan 11 Apr, 2020 @ 3:33pm
Love this mod.
Maniac  [author] 17 Mar, 2020 @ 1:36pm
Yep I'm planning to. I have a couple other mods that I give higher priority though. So I'm not sure when I'll get to it.

@Mr. Bojangles: not sure really. At first it does sound like a big number. But when you compare it to for instance Mechanists' +66% growth from the get go, +100% society research actually starts to sound very reasonable to me. But I haven't done any factual comparison of my economies with these two civics. It's anyone's guess really.
TurtleShroom 17 Mar, 2020 @ 1:14pm
Will this Mod be converted to an Origin?
Bojangles 22 Jan, 2020 @ 8:50pm
Doubled society research is kind of insane for a civic, no?
Crazy Old Texan 14 Nov, 2019 @ 1:21am
Works fine.
Maniac  [author] 30 Oct, 2019 @ 8:41am
I changed this mod's version number to Stellaris 2.5, uploading it with the new launcher. Given the many problems reported with this launcher, I'm curious whether the mod still works fine on your ends. Please let me know!
TurtleShroom 26 Sep, 2019 @ 8:42am
No, I was just saying that you need to take extra precautions; also, a Personality would GUARANTEE no robots AND provide excellent flavor.
Crazy Old Texan 26 Sep, 2019 @ 1:08am
Ah, OK. Oh well.
Maniac  [author] 26 Sep, 2019 @ 1:01am
I should proofread my own posts. Corrections to my previous post:
I released a small update...
As for TurtleShroom noticing the AI Butlerian Jihadists building robots (is that what you're saying?)...
Crazy Old Texan 26 Sep, 2019 @ 12:41am
Thank you. Maybe ACOT causing the FE's to lose their mind. I'll run a tests first chance i get
Maniac  [author] 25 Sep, 2019 @ 10:01pm
I reduced a small update, reducing the opinion penalty from machine-friendly fallen empires to -50 instead of -500. Let me know if it works - I don't have any save file right now with such a fallen empire.
As for TurtleShroom noticing the AI Butlerian Jihadists (is that what you're saying), that surprises me. As far I can tell, the changes to policies should make that impossible. The only reason I can think of this can happen, is if another mod also overrides the robotic policies. Regardless, it is a good idea to create a new personality as a fallback for such cases. I'll add that in a future update.
Crazy Old Texan 23 Sep, 2019 @ 5:47pm
Love the mod but I have the same problem TS is having.
TurtleShroom 17 Sep, 2019 @ 5:27pm
I found a problem with your Mod.

On the very day an empire with this Civic meets the Materialist Fallen Empire, they instantly demand you take their Humiliation offer and have a permanent "Angry" status to boot. That means you will either be hampered for the entire game OR you will be killed by a FE every few years.

The Opinions of the Muhajideen and the Materialist Fallen Empires need to be nullified outside of special occasions.
TurtleShroom 12 Sep, 2019 @ 9:34am
You need to create a special Personality for the Mujadijeen (or however you spell that). I've seen your Trait spawn randomly; they should have a Personality that guarantees that they NEVER use Robots.

(You can do this by setting the "ROBOT_EXPLOITER" and "ROBOT_LIBERATOR" commands to "no".)
Maniac  [author] 3 Sep, 2019 @ 6:34am
I released a small update:
- Jihadists can't resettle mechanic pops, this time for real.
- Jihadists get +15% ship fire rate when at war with an empire with the Mechanist civic. You can't declare Butlerian Jihad on them though. Mechanists have a higher probability to go down the Cybernetic ascension path however, so sooner or later you will be able to declare Jihad on them.
Crazy Old Texan 2 Sep, 2019 @ 8:58pm
Cool Dune stuff.
Falco 2 Sep, 2019 @ 7:45pm
I thought it said Butter instead of Butler for a second, and that King Harlaus had finally come to Stellaris to rain feasts and butter upon us.
Kindjalz 2 Sep, 2019 @ 4:45pm
Now all we need as a Mentat Society or Great Schools civic
duybui83 1 Sep, 2019 @ 8:27am
I love the Butler Jihad. They're always so underpaid.
Toheck 31 Aug, 2019 @ 9:32pm
Ah, that explains it. I don't have MegaCorp. Well, thanks, friend - I'm off to shoot some robots.
Maniac  [author] 31 Aug, 2019 @ 9:23pm
Vanilla indeed. Byzantine Bureaucracy. It requires MegaCorp though.
Toheck 31 Aug, 2019 @ 9:14pm
That's most of them, thanks. What's the other civic, with the sheets of paper? (or is that vanilla...)
Maniac  [author] 31 Aug, 2019 @ 9:06pm
Is there anything specific you want to know? Because as you say, there are other modS, plural. I can spot Planetfall, Political Events, a mod changing the ethics icons, Guilli's modifiers, and a static human portrait mod I'm working on.
Toheck 31 Aug, 2019 @ 8:52pm
By the way, you obviously have other mods active in your screenshots. What are those?
Toheck 31 Aug, 2019 @ 8:51pm
Yes! Thank you!
