even you just updated this but it is throwing version warning on the launcher and you have it set "3.14" but should have set to 3.14.* or 3.14.1

Scout drone isn't combat capable but is cheaper. Scout ship has PD and S weapons slots, and can be attached to a fleet.

Should have mentioned, no nebula or any other. Just a G star. What blocks view? Often can't see into / from M-class either.

Inconsistencies: Sometimes systems that should be visible are blocked and vice-versa. Current game I can see into a binary pulsar system but not a G giant.

U just have to block the expansion on enemy sectors or dangerous sectors or blocked sectors, so that it doesnt mess up with the mechanics of diplomacy on unnavigable empires

you have the module built in like 2 years time at a certain cost and at the end of the 2 years you have the sectors showing as explored. First range of engines sectors distance and so on. Requiring to have only a starship or an outpost if you have the mod allowing one building from the outpost.

I like the idea but I would like to make a slight suggestion while leaving the core untouched. Having it be a module constructed by a starship base that send scout the next sectors (distance based on engines and sensors, so that you don't have drones and scouts very cheaps running around for infinity

Okay, no amount of little petty haxes can six it. So only way is to change something else:
Scout Drones now count as Science Ships but I'll recommend you to hold your horses — they are awful Science Ships, so use them wisely.
Also, improved sections for Frigates and Corvettes now spot 2 AUX slots dew to often emerging power issue.

I think I found it. Seems like game doesnt like my little hack with 0.1 ship limit per Drone when you try to watch it in fleet manager.

Hm... Okay, I managed to CtD with attept to add Drones into the fleet.
Somehow I didnt managed to force them into any other fleet even when I added 10 more into construction list while another fleet was at orbit.

Yeah, I'm getting CTDs, too. Not playing old games, either. Happens when trying to add scout drones to a fleet in the fleet manager, and when trying to remove drones from a fleet they've been accidentally added to (ordered some corvettes and a drone, and forgot to order the corvettes away before the drone finished construction).

@AncientGatekeeper I made everything on my part to prevent any further CtDs wich may or may not be caused by my mod, but from my expirience I need to warn you that Stallaris update of 30 may messed with something and made all previuous saves highly suspectable to this particular issue. So I'll recommend to abandon your current playthrough and start a new round.

I'll look into that CtD. Probably today. I think I may have an idea, but Stellaris modding goes a bit finnekey lately.

Actually I can't fully understand reasons of your worries. Scout Ships basically strongly nerfed Corvettes with lower prices, they get better a bit later but not that much and if you talking about jump ability — we already have "Eager Explorers". Scout Drones... is simple unarmed military vessels and not accessable by AI players, they don't work as I wanted and I can't see a clear way to solve this issue. Well, except renaming them as "Exploration Vessel" moving them into science ship category (manually design) and giving them -9000% to anomaly research speed and excavation speed.

Is there a way to limit the number of Scout Ships & Drones? I love the concept but am hesitant given how unchecked fleet construction would affect the Science Ship / exploration balance.

Game CTD when creating a fleet of scout drones. At least for me it is. It appears to let me build scout drones directly from the starbase, but trying to do so from the create fleet option, causes a CTD.

Actually, You know, with the latest update and new features implemented with it I think Im going to change drone class to science ship, spin up it's speed, dodge and emergency warp stats but nerf into the ground it's ability to research.

Its come to my attention that I misread the previous conversation...
Anyway, I tested it on my local copy, and that does create a civilian science ship. But that was not the goal...

I believe Ancient Cache of technologies has that. Its their Oracle precursor ship.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\1419304439\common\ship_sizes Then the code for "acot_Precursor_ships" from there scroll down to "precursor_science" under the header "CIVILIANO SHIPPA"

Quite a bit of extra stuff in there for tech/build requirements because it is a large mod that does other stuff, but it looks fairly clean. I'm very inexperienced, but it looks like you only need to add:
is_civilian = yes
class = shipclass_science_ship

Nope. It's hardcoded as far as I know. As well as special ship sizes.
I wish I was able to add custom non stackable non fleet joinable ship type, so drones would be able to start in their own 1 ship sized fleets.

Last time I attempted to introduce automated scouting it... Failed and done absolutely nothing. Also I can't really understand previous examples of this "automatic exploration/random scouting" they kinda above my league. Since then I decided to table it.

Maybe if I'll find good working example with annotation or someone will drop userfull code...

This mod has some faulty animations that cause the game to crash when loading to 80% for Mac/Linux players.
