@Epicgury thanks for your approval. I like the idea of background rendering, but it sounds like something hard to achieve. For instance; what happens when RimWorld is closed prematurely? I'd like to discuss this with you, if we can figure it out we, or I, can maybe one day implement it
Epicguru  [author] 21 Oct, 2023 @ 1:05pm
Thanks for the update. I had plans to rewrite this at some point, mainly to add cross platform support as well as the ability to render a video in the background as new images were taken, rather than all at once at the end (for disk space reasons). I just never got round to it. I'll leave the future of this mod in your capable hands.

@Ohanno_WhiteWolf @Nard @SpaceMKP @Dogns @ululu I have released a
new version of this mod
The Village Guy 19 Oct, 2023 @ 3:59pm
@pastacanman the mod you refer to in your comment is outdated as well, you should like to the one by me and neptimus7
The Village Guy 19 Oct, 2023 @ 10:09am
This mod is no longer being maintained. I have released it's successor Timelapse 2023
The Village Guy 19 Oct, 2023 @ 10:07am
@epicguru, as announced I will shortly be releasing an updated version of this mod. I have rebranded it Timelapse 2023. I figure you'll be glad to see it being continued, given the enthusiasm of people asking for an update in the comments below. However, if you disagree with this, or want to talk about it in general, you know where to find me.

Of course the progress renderer still works and had been updated to make it easier to make renders with proper sizing for posting on Rimworld gallery [rimworld.gallery]
The Village Guy 16 Oct, 2023 @ 7:41pm
I'll look into this mod soon to see if I can repair it
ThePastaManCan🤷‍♂ 12 Oct, 2023 @ 7:22am
A mod called progress renderer (in description) works

Ohanno_Barghest 9 Oct, 2023 @ 11:04am
can anyone repair the mod?
DogsRNice 27 Apr, 2023 @ 7:29pm
shame this doesnt work, seeing the timelapse of my colony after it was done is really fulfilling
SpaceMKP 15 Mar, 2023 @ 1:43pm
UI is broken as of 1.4 im not smart enough to fix this
Bard 27 Oct, 2022 @ 8:08pm
Needs and update for 1.4
Mlie 13 Sep, 2022 @ 10:58am
Since this mod is reported working in 1.3 I've added it to the No Version Warning-mod

Hope it helps!
BeanSlinger419 17 Feb, 2022 @ 9:06pm
Thanks ululu! Time to get it again.
ululu 26 Jul, 2021 @ 2:27am
Just hopping in briefly to say that this mod does work in 1.3.
NRFBToyStore 21 Jul, 2021 @ 12:32pm
@blunthammer By uninstalling the proper mod. THIS mod does not take pics. All this mod does is take pictures you HAVE, and turn them into a slideshow.
Blunthammer 20 Jul, 2021 @ 7:01pm
How do I uninstall. I have done a full wipe of Rimworld, including the config file, and this mod is still taking pics and posting them to my desktop.
Cali Cat 10 Jul, 2021 @ 1:46am
Not only that, it creates a MP4 file, but is unplayable and corrupted
Cali Cat 10 Jul, 2021 @ 1:41am
And after changing the location to my videos folder it states "Error! Unhandled Rendering Algorithm exception: System.unauthorizedaccessexception: access to path C:\[PATH NAME]
and then cuts off.
Cali Cat 10 Jul, 2021 @ 1:38am
I tried running the game in administrator mode aswell.
Cali Cat 10 Jul, 2021 @ 1:35am
I got an error
Error! Unhandled Rendering Algorithm Exception:
System.io.ioexception: Cannot open the video file. Error Code: -13. Mess...

How do I fix?
Zitronenjoghurt 19 Jun, 2021 @ 12:47am
Antivirus is a good point I'll try that (already restarted the game over and over again)
Epicguru  [author] 18 Jun, 2021 @ 5:44am
Try restarting the game and trying again, and if that fails make sure your antivirus isn't blocking anything from running.
Zitronenjoghurt 18 Jun, 2021 @ 4:52am
I got that error: Renderer failed to connect. Are you running 64 bit windows? Even tho I'm running it on Windows 10 64-bit and also running a 64-bit version of rimworld. Running it as admin hasn't helped either
Epicguru  [author] 13 Feb, 2021 @ 4:16am
@Gremlin Ok let me know if it works, I think admin permission is needed to save to that location so that may be the cause.

@Sonny what settings are you using? That error probably means that you are using invalid settings.
$onny 13 Feb, 2021 @ 2:59am
I got this error when rendering the video:

Renderer error: Unhandled rendering algorithm exception: System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid.
at System.Drawing.Bitmap..ctor(Stream stream)

Help would be appreciated!

C:/This Computer/Documents/Rimworld Renders
I'm moving the paste to the HDD instead, maybe it'll help
Epicguru  [author] 12 Feb, 2021 @ 2:57am
Try running rimworld as admin, might help.

Are you trying to output directly into your windows drive C:/, or something like that?
💖NEET_Princess💖 11 Feb, 2021 @ 5:08pm
I'm also experiencing error -13 in which the computer denies acess to the renders, but they're not on OneDrive, any idea how I could fix this?
B3r1T 29 Jan, 2021 @ 12:57am
Easy to use, great mod. Thanks!
BeanSlinger419 18 Nov, 2020 @ 9:57am
On talking about OneDrive, It's just generally a piece of shit.
Epicguru  [author] 4 Nov, 2020 @ 4:18pm
Sorry about that. You'll have to change the output directory. If the problem still happens after trying to save somewhere else then please tell me.

Microsoft loves to make things complicated when it comes to OneDrive...
Kirknay 4 Nov, 2020 @ 2:53pm
Windows really doesn't like it defaulting to Onedrive files. I keep getting the following error:

Renderer error: Unhandled rendering algorithm exception: System.IO.IOException: Cannot open the video file. Error code: -13. Message: Permission denied when trying to access: C:\Users\kirknay\OneDrive\Documents\RimWorld Renders\baseball cap.mp4
Epicguru  [author] 10 Oct, 2020 @ 7:01pm
Glad you found it useful!
NightyZockt 10 Oct, 2020 @ 1:03pm
Thanks for the Mod Makes Really Great Timelapses ! keep up the good work.
Works with 1.2 No problems.
Epicguru  [author] 4 Sep, 2020 @ 2:25am
That's not how the mod is supposed to be used. Please read the How to use section on the workshop page. You need to have been using the Progress Renderer mod.
Zipperneckfronkenstein 3 Sep, 2020 @ 4:29pm
No error log, I copy/paste the destination file, click start, play my game and when I finish the destination file is still empty. Is there a specific spot in the load order it needs to be?
Epicguru  [author] 3 Sep, 2020 @ 10:21am
It won't ever work on Mac or Linux. If you are on Windows, try re-installing. I can't really help you without an error log or at least a description of what is going wrong.
Zipperneckfronkenstein 3 Sep, 2020 @ 9:36am
I have never gotten this to work...it doesn't cause problems, it just doesn't do it's job :(
Epicguru  [author] 14 Aug, 2020 @ 2:10pm
Should work in 1.2 even if it gives a warning, but I will do full port tomorrow.
Axmantim 14 Aug, 2020 @ 11:26am
Will this be ported to 1.2?
Pirate of AE 19 Jun, 2020 @ 11:26am

Thanks

Thanks for the tip!
Jdalt40 27 May, 2020 @ 2:55am
@zenrider I recommend briefly unsubscribing from the mod when you try loading the mod list, it'll only load the mods it can find (for if it happens again with any mod)
